I just updated the Amazon App Store so I could install Amazon Prime Instant Video. My MT2-L03 rebooted and got stuck in a boot loop until I went into recovery and did a full wipe. The phone would actually get past the splash screen and start to load Nova Launcher, but only for a few seconds. Anyone else having trouble with the Amazon App Store?

Same problem here. Booted into stock recovery and had to do a factory reset.
Same problem happened to me last night. I booted in to safe mode and uninstalled Amazon. Problem is gone for now.

I'm curious how you boot into the safe mode? I didn't even know there was a safe mode on HAM2.

Every Android phone should have a safe mode. You can normally access it by:
1. Power on device
2. Wait a few seconds for the boot animation to start (on HAM2 you can wait til you heard the jingle)
3. Hold down both volume up and volume down buttons
Alternate method if device is powered on:
1. Long press power button
2. When the shut down menu appears, long press on "Power off"
3. A prompt will appear asking if you want to reboot in safe mode. Pick "OK"

To boot into safe mode, press and hold the power button until the power off menu appears. Then tap and HOLD 'Power off' and it will ask you if you want to reboot into safe mode.
If your phone won't boot properly (ie bootloop) you can also do it via key combination at boot.
1. Power on the phone
2. Wait for the 'Powered by Android' banner to disappear from the bottom of the screen.
3. Press and hold VOLUME DOWN until the boot is complete and you've reached your lock screen (or home screen if the lock screen is disabled) You'll see 'Safe mode' overlayed on the bottom left corner of the screen.
4. To return to normal just power off and power on the device as normal.
[EDIT: Looks like winbet beat me to it... except you only have to press volume down, not both volume keys]
I was trapped in the booting loop by the evil Amazon update the other night:crying: TWICE :cyclops:
The 1st time I factory reset my HAM2. I installed the amazon app again after I got the phone back to live. Of course the phone was pulled into the trap again. Luckily this time I was able to drag the amazon icon to uninstall right after the phone boots up.
I use Amazon app a lot. I found an amazon v3.0.1 apk and installed it for now. Hopefully Amazon will fix the problem soon!
The build in Huawei backup works pretty well. I have a recent backup from a few days ago. So I didn't really lose any useful data after the factory reset
Thanks, gents!

I'm about to get HAM2 - and I use Amazon Apps (Have one on older phone). Where does it show what version of Amazon Apps I have and is there some place I could get the v3.0.1
Thanks
I am reading this correctly right - it's Amazon Appstore and not the Amazon App that's the problem?

the Amazon App Store is fine,
The Amazon instant video is fine
but the new Amazon Store app (buy more than just apps and crap from amazon.com) is what will kill your day.
Tried again today but no fix yet from Amazon... even installed it from the amazon app store.

Honestly, I don't' know where to find the rev info on Google play page. I just googled "Amazon apk" and found v3.0.1 somewhere. I downloaded and installed it. It worked fine for me.
It seems Amazon is aware of this issue. Amazon app store is now marked as incompatible with HAM2.
Which amazon app?
Which amazon app causes the boot loop ? Amazon (regular shopping one) or Amazon app store ? Confused .

For me it was the Amazon App Store that caused the boot loop. Amazon Instant Video can only be downloaded via the Amazon App Store. I went into the App Store, and it notified me that there was an update. I update the Amazon App Store, and that is when the boot loop began. The only way to make it go away was to boot into stock recovery (hold power button + volume up) and do a factory reset/wipe.
After the factory reset, I tried fresh install of the Amazon App Store, but the boot loop started again. I did another factory reset, and I haven't installed the Amazon App Store since then. Sorry Amazon.
Can someone try the Amazon app store for tablets? I'm thinking you could use app settings and change the DPI so it thinks it is a tablet.... I wonder if that will stop the boot loops any volunteers?
This is a huge fricken problem. Everyone uses Amazon. My phone came from Amazon! Ok to clear things up. Amazon app works but amazon app store does not which in turn means I can't download the prime instant video? Can we just make an. Apk for the instant video?

What do you mean Instant video doesn't recognize it? It sounds to me like you are talking about the Amazon App for tablets, and not the Amazon App Store, which is Amazon's equivalent to the Play Store.

These are the steps I used to set up my Nook Tablet and get it set up the way I wanted it. I have tweaked it even more but this is how I got to where I am now. I hope this collection of links to information may help others be as happy with their Nooks as I am with mine.
I am happy to have access to the Amazon ecosystem including buying apps from their app store and watching Amazon's instant streaming video as well as the Google Market and B&N Store. All this with the ability to access Netflix's HD content, an MicroSD slot, beautiful screen, sufficient processor & RAM leads me to feel that this is the best tablet for the money on the market today.
I would like to also thank Indirect, anlog, Loglud, gojimi, romified, t-r-i-c-k, robertely, Brad Linder and all of the other developers and XDA members that have worked on Nook tweaks and/or shared information for the benefit of others.
Just to be clear, I am nobody, I haven't created or worked on anything. I just mined all of this information for my own benefit and I thought I would post a copy of what I have found in a single post for those that follow. Does anybody have a link to the SWIPEPAD apk file by any chance? Unfortunately I am only side-loading, hence my problem getting it via the traditional market.
I really have tried to get this a number of ways, and in a number of locations, but have kind of hit a roadblock! What's ironic is that it would have been quicker for me to ROOT my device and load it via google, rather than waste the time I put into trying to side-load it LOL!!!
I have a NT with 1.4.3 and it's rooted with Play Store fine and dandy but I want Amazon Appstore also as I own alot of good apps on there from free app of the day. Tried but it wont let me install. Is there a way to get it working on 1.4.3?

Ok I figured out how to get it to work. Problem was downloading via wrong browser apparently when I was downloading i would always push the "n" button and select web. When I did the following though it worked perfectly fine. Though I will be updating to CM10 seeing as it has been confirmed I have a 16GB and not the 8GB I paid for
Step-by-step:
1) Press "n" button
2) Press "Home"
3) Press "ADW.Launcher"
4) Press the globe (browser) button on the launch pad on bottom of screen
5) Go to http://www.amazon.com/amazonappstoreapp
6) Bottom left corner notification tray will say "amazonappstore.apk Successfully downloaded) Select it
7) Choose Package Installer from the pop-up window
8) Press Install
9) Enjoy!!!

I think I'm going to give up on this one. I had to google what an app drawer is, then, once I found it, I still couldn't find the right security setting to allow me to download from unknown whatevers, and I have to figure out how to download google play after I get the Apk thing downloaded, so I can then download the app store. Ya'll are hella smart because I'm completely lost and so tired of googling everything under the sun, I'm over it, I even tried to read a crash report that was code ugh, so much for doing it on my own. Thanks for helping me out, though, I do appreciate it and kudos to those of you who can sideload and root your devices because that's a whole other ballgame!

It sounds to me like you haven't rooted your Tablet. You need to do that. When doing that Google apps (incuding Google Play store) will be installed. If NT Hidden settings isn't already installed by the root you can find it in the Play store.
I describe rooting under "B" in this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2081981
My daughters Fire 7 4th Gen (running stock FireOS 5.1.1) wouldn't install apps. I rebooted it and saw it was low on storage and removed 2GB of videos which I though would have solved the issue. It didn't. She had at least 10 app requiring updates, and no matter which one I clicked on it went to a download percentage in the 90s and then stopped and never went any further, nor attempted to install. She had over 2.5 GB of space remaining at this point.
Trying to find a solution other than the typical reboot and hard reboot (both of which I tried), I found an article saying to Clear the App Data of the App Store application, and reboot. This seemed like a good thing to try so I did, however the App Store library is now completely blank. The library doesn't show any apps and of course there can't be any updates if there is no apps.
The apps themselves are fine, but a few games require an update before she can play them and if I go t the store and try and "GET" it, it tells me I already have them and to download them from my library...which is blank.
So I'm looking for a way to repopulate my App Store without having to do a factory reset and lose a good chunk of my daughters game progress (for games that don't save to the cloud). I'm sure there must be way to get the library to resync, I just don't have a clue how.
Any advice?

So after waiting overnight the App Library seems to have repopulated, but no app updates show up. Furthermore, when I go to the store to an app that I know need an update I now have the option to select Update, and it downloads completely and goes to "installing", but then nothing happens. If I wait long enough the Update button returns, and the update is never installed. Any ideas on how to resolve?

No mine was purchased ad-free. However i think I finally figures out something myself. While previously I had cleared the app data I never cleared the app cache. There was only 40KB in the cache vs like 500MB of appdata. Anyway, I went back in and wiped out the cache and and all the updates seems to install after that. In fact, I didn't even have to do i manually I just rebooted and I checked the versions of about 10 different apps that showed they needed updates and they were already updated. Its almost like they had previously updated but didn't actually register themselves and being updated.
I'm not 100% sure I understand what happened but I'm happy its working again.

I have gotten in the habit after an update i just factory reset it a couple times. I may be wasting my time, but 99% of the time i dont have problems. Do the same on my Pixel XL. I hate setting it up again, but rather not have random stuff going on.

I updated a couple hours ago and haven't been able to access the Play Store. Anyone else? Everything else works fine. I tried rebooting the phone but still it just shows a blank white page when clicking on the app

I can't get into the Play Store or my Gmail account, and when I open the Google app, I have no "cards" showing. All my settings are the same, but I just am not getting any Google account stuff. I have 3 different accounts on the phone, and can't see anything for any of them. I am tempted to delete them, and add them back to see if it helps. You'd think with all the extra time the morons at VZW had to roll this out, it would not have such a major bug!!
Can anyone confirm if a factory reset helps? My play store isn't working and either is my dialer. I can't send out a phone call. Just want to confirm if will work before I do a reset.
Sent from my HTC6545LVW using XDA-Developers Legacy app
1. wipe cache/dalvik and reboot
2. go to settings->app manager
3. clear data on both Google play services and play store
Everything loaded fine afterwards...Man, that made me sweat!

Can someone post the OTA or the RUU ??
Hi all,
I sideloaded the Wear 2.8 update on my Asus Zenwatch 3 (which is OLED) and was pretty annoyed that I have no black background!
No idea if it really saves battery but I prefer the black look.
I'd like to modify the apk to have a proper black background but I don't know if it's possible.
Anyone able to help me?
Thanks..
What version of 2.8 is it? I feel like there was maybe one before the black background. I'm on 2.8.0.18. The only things I could suggest would be to manually check for updates in the google play store on your watch and try rebooting if it looks like you are on the latest one. (I had one user say my wear apps background changed after rebooting)
Can you explain how to get 2.8 on my Wear24? lol
Once 2.8 shows up in Play store for your account it will be available for update on your phone and then eventually sync slowly over Bluetooth to the watch to be available for your watch.
It took over a week for the update to be available on my account.

lol i wish I could tell you....my play store stays open for about 5 seconds and then crashes. Can't download anything to my watch or even stay in it long enough to answer your question. I have factory reset multiple times and tried a variety of option toggling. It's quite frustrating

Are you sure it is not just going into ambient mode? When the watch goes to ambient mode in the play store, it will go back to the watch face. You could try continually tapping the screen to see if it eventually loads.
