Hello!
I was usin oudhs recovery previously, and figured I would upgrade to twrm. I flashed from JRummy's app, and now I have no recovery... I get a secure fail: kernel message.
Is there an easy way to fix this?
Flash twrp via flashify. There's no updated cwm recovery for our device
Fixed! Much appreciated!

Hello and thanks in advance for any help!
I used this method
galaxys3root(dot)com/galaxy-s3-root/how-to-root-galaxy-s3-on-mac-osx/
to root my phone.
I can't seem to get it into cwm recovery and instead it keeps going into android recovery mode (3e), I managed to get into cwm recovery once to flash SuperSU but now when i want to back up my rom it boots into android recovery.
I've installed rom manager and I gave it access when the pop up showed up. I tried going to cwm recovery through the app but it takes me to the android recovery instead.
Any thoughts?
Thanks again!
I have a rooted MDK Verizon S4 with SuperSU installed. I had been trying to use Rom Manager to install clockworkmod recovery and every time, it comes back with the message that it has been successfully installed. When I try to boot into recovery, it wouldn't work. I finally installed GooManager and went ahead and installed TWRP. Now I am able to boot into TWRP with no issues, but when I try to overwrite and install clockworkmod recovery from within Rom Manager, it again comes back with the message that it has been successfully installed, but it still boots into TWRP.
I understand that I can use TWRP to switch over to a different rom, but I am just befuddled as to why I am not able to install clockworkmod. Can you guys please help me understand what I am doing wrong?

You can either ODIN the CWM edition you want (for example Philz Touch Recovery - http://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/jfltevzw) - get the md5 file of course for ODIN. You can also try to flash the zip file of Philz Touch Recovery from your SDCard (same site - http://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/jfltevzw) through TWRP. Reboot into recovery and see what happens.

Thanks. When I was trying to install CWM within Rom Manger, I ended up paying for the touch upgrade, hence my desire to try and install CWM form within Rom Manager... It's just a bit frustrating that I can't figure out what's going on..
Trying to get my first rom on to this note.
Ive tried twrp 2.7.1 / 2.8.0 and cwmr 5.5 / 6.0.4.3 and I havent managed to get one installed yet.
Current error im trying to get past is
"radio must be newer than ucmd3." on CWMR
"E:Error executing updater binary in zip" In TWRP I'm getting
dzee206 got me up to the latest CWMR which helped but now I'm stuck.
Currently on stock 4.0 rooted with custom recovery

apparently you need a new radio from the factory image. if you return to stock using odin and the imgs for stock linked here apparently it puts an old radio in.
you need this radio to flash 4.4+ in both TWRP and CWMR

That is why i always suggest to odin the latest firmware if coming from ics and wanting to flash a jb or kitkat rom… its actually a partition issue involving the modem partition. Which is very important to booting up.
I couldnt find that info. Samsung needs a fastboot feature. odin is a pain
HI, so I'm on MDK, rooted, and running GPE 5.0 LP, and I was recently attempt to update my recovery. I used Jrummy's ROM installer to install the TWRP 2.8.3. I rebooted, and now when i load into recovery, it says "kernel secure fail" and won't let me do anything. Is there a way to fix this? Any help would be appreciated.
Update: After attempting to reboot it a few times, I am able to boot to ROM, but still unable to boot to recovery.

Boot to the ROM and install Flashify from the Google Play store. Use it to install the latest TWRP. That should clear everything up.

Hmm. Ok so I installed TWRP 2.8.3 via Flashify, and successfully rebooted to recovery. I then flashed JFLTE-GPE 5.0 (jan. 2nd version). Now can't boot to either recovery or ROM, both of which are saying "secure fail: kernel." I did not loki doki. Ahh help!
Update: After rebooting multiple times, I can now reboot to recovery, but not to ROM.
Update: I used the 12/24 loki doki and now it seems like the ROM is working.

I ran into a similar problem, and had to completely restore to stock via Odin.
What were your steps here? Also I had trouble getting loki to install, which steps did you use?
Is it ok to flash twrp over cwm or do i need to remove cwm first. Hi i have been searching for this particular topic and found no definite answer. I am currently trying to flash blisspop rom on my phone and it says to use the latest twrp recovery. The problem is I have cwm installed on my phone. So my question is ok to flash twrp over cwm or set my default recovery to twrp
@onedaynerd: simply replace CWM with TWRP 2.8.6.1 by Odin. Ashame TWRP can't read/restore CWM-backups.

As far as I know, there will/can be only one recovery. Any recovery can be overwritten by the other. Just flash the new recovery and it automatically replaces the old one.
Example, If you are currently having CWM then boot into CWM recovery and flash the TWRP recovery zip file and reboot the device. Check the recovery by booting into recovery again. Now you will find TWRP as your recovery. CWM will be gone.
