3G coverage in India is very bad and that is the highest possible reason. Do you get GSM signal to make and receive calls? Whenever I saw 'x' near the signal icon, the problem was IMEI lost or wrong Radio flash. Try retrieving your IMEIs using Mobile uncle if you have backed up them. Else try different Modems which is also explained with steps in one of the other thread in this Forum.

GSM is absolutely working fine on 2G mode. No problem with calls n all so far,I just have problem only with WDCMA mode and on auto mode thats all . whenever i select WCDMA mode it show X near signal... I a newbie so plz help me installing modem on this or any other solution.. Thanks

Sorry, remove your imei number from the post... I was asking in case your EFS had corrupted. Maybe I should have been a bit more clear lol.
If you go in About > Status, check if the IMEI shows up.
When you flashed the phone, did it also update your radio? What is the baseband version?
Edit and delete that emei!! That's for you only ;-)

dun know abt Radio ... and are u asking about baseband ver. before or now ?

Why dont you try different modems for your country or a custom ROM that has your countries CSC also.
And you've tried already to turn off airplane mode? If not, try that and just let me know if it's giving you Emergency Only or just not connecting to the network at all. Were you using it OK before? Downgrade your radio if ever
reboot couple of times and if you rebooted while charging then remove charger and reboot

I have some problem with my network connectivity. Since I bought my Galaxy s3, the network disappears so I'm not able to make any call. I have to restard my mobile to get network back. Some people told me that it is a baseband problem (as I'm in Belgium and my mobile comes from France) so I changed it but I got the same problem but less often.
Can you guys tell me where the problem comes from?

More likely sim card problem or network itself check with your network .
Backup data and factory reset the phone or check for updates via OTA or KIES .

Hi,
I tried it already and it did work for 1 or 2 days and it's coming back again. My sim card was pefectly working with my former phone.
Concerning the updates, everything has been done and i'm now running on Omega v9.1
After all of thatm is it a technical or material problem?

Omega is not a factory rom so that could be the problem or the modem .
Suggest wipe phone remove rom counter to zero with Triangle |Away flash stock rom and test fails return to service center .

Okay. So this isnt 100% confirmed to work but sometimes it does for me. Install the rom u like. Most roms have modems that are suited for most countries so ull be okay on that part. Whe it says no service make sure its no internet and not no service. Then reboot into recovery fix permissions wipe dalvik do whatever u want haha then go to options and then more then clturn on airport then turn it off.
For those with the no service status it either could be talking a while to kick in due to a bad/unsuitable modem with ur rom or u need to find one that suits you. Here are a few helpful links.

Did you try other SIMs? I know someone in Hong Kong had problem with the Galaxy S2, the problem is similar to this although there is no firmware upgrading performed before. Then it works again after changing the SIM from the network operator.
I'd probably notice that your radio is 'unknown'. Try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1918601 , it helped me. My case was very similar to yours but I had 0000000000 as my serial number and not a random hex string such as yours.
As always check correct IMEI first .
Wrong IMEI see multiple posts on the subject or pay for a repair .###
Check you have mobile network APN settings correct .
Check you have a modem try a different modem .

mobile APN is ok...COSMOTE broadband ... earlier tried with diferent modem.bin ... it does exactelly the same as now..no network coverage...

I tried all of them.I have signal in some places but it is empty at the most time.I think it is a hardware problem

To reflash your ROM you will find a lot of tutorials in this forum. To know what is the problem, is to root and install custom recovery and change modems one by one till something is going on.

I have tried all modem versions for my p780 and they dont work properly.Is there a way to find out if it is a hardware problem by myself?I bought the phone from China and I live in Greece so I think it is going to be a long time I guess till it returns.So I d preffer to fix it on my own.

I think it may be hardware antena problem, because before U had excelent signal. Or try flash the same ROM and modem which U had before (when everything was OK) On Youtube is a video how ro repare hardware antena on P780 (it was russian video).

There should be different imei for different slots.

after a long struggle I managed to get cellular network again by following http://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod=redirect&goto=findpost&ptid=559510&pid=11003999
My kenzo had Baseband and IMEI but "no signal". I flashed kenzo_global_images_6.7.21_20160712.0000.26_6.0_global_bc4c2904a5 (it seems to be a bridge rom version used for downgrades) and then kenzo_global_images_V7.3.6.0.LHOMIDD_20160523.0000.23_5.1_global_aef179560d
Signal only appeared after a while after flashing the 5.1 ROM. Then flashed kenzo_global_images_V8.2.4.0.MHOMIDL_20170522.0000.00_6.0_global and it continued working.
Edit: it is better but far from perfect as I could make and receive calls for a while but then it lost cell network. I don't know of any more ways to fix this.
