Hey guys! Im experiencing some problems with the Revolutionary S5 V3 Rom on my Galaxy S3 (GTI9300). The rom works great, fast, light, smooth, almost perfect! But when I try to use the USB Tethering and/or WiFi hotspot, the pc conects to the network, but Windows cant recognize the same, and I cant navigate, it says "Limited Connection", "No internet Service"... with other roms it works perfect! But I really like this one and dont plan to change again my rom... could it be solved somehow?

Ive looked around, can you natively tether an X10 and get internet access or do you need to install software like easytether?
Ps I cant get easythether to work either. (PS just got that working ;-) )

No native app I know of that comes with the X10 for tethering. Try PdaNet, works like a charm for me. =)

I second this. Great app. Well worth the money.
I'm trying to tether with my ipad using X10 but PDAnet shows in order to use buletooth tether I need to be on andriod 2.0 or above! any way I can do it on 1.6?

Thans for the PDAnet mention, isntalled that, its working nicely.
Was jsut used to HTC phones connecting automatically with internet sharing.
Not sure about the bluetooth tethering, as it states, needs 2.0
Wont be long till Paul has rooted it, the we can get vanilla 2.1 on and will work ok.

Root the phone, use barnacle and tether over wifi. I just could not get BT to work with PDANet
If we start barnacle, can we connect other phone? Or just PC only?

O. You mean: run barnacle use x10. And then just search for wifi spot and connect. Just like that? And what ever type as long have wifi connection can connect to our x10 via barnacle? If yes... I can not connect my x8 to my x10 with wifi. Anything wrong?

I tried install barnacles, but my HTC Magic, Blackberry 8250 and Archos 101 cannot detect the wifi that's tether from my X10i....

Are you searching for an infrastructure wifi connection or an adhoc? tethering is used with adhoc, its a direct connection between two devices. Refine your search to that and maybe you'll have better luck

Me (X10) connected to a (foreign) wifi-network ---> friend (iphone etc, doesn't matter) connects via my x10, and is also using the foreign network??
will soon spend some days in London with my school calss and wifi will cost money, so we wanted to buy access for 1 phone (wifi) and the rest will connect via this phone =)

i used a lot the wifi tethering of my galaxy 2 until...i upgrade ..after this i used it once and then nothing...i did hard reset and again worked once and after nothing..my laptops can see the wifi and connects with it but doesnt share the internet access..in contrary if i use the usb tether everything works like a charm...has anyone any idea???

Same here as well, I have not used tethering before until now and wanted to see if I could get it to work as I will be away in a few weeks with no internet access for my laptop so wanted to try and get this running.
As said above got the laptop to see and connect to the phone, but wont let me have internet. Not tried doing it via usb yet as wanted to try it wireless.
Any ideas anyone? (by the way running lite'ning rom as well 5.2)
I have the same issue on mine. Just release/renew the ip address and it works fine.

When i start wifi on my Atrix, it says that i am connected to wifi (it says and shows the bar at the top of the task bar that i am connected to wifi) but i cannot browse the internet on my phone or do anything internet-related at all).
I was on the leaked version of the French Orange ROM that Samcripp found on the moto server ( and it worked properly until the wifi password was changed and i decided to flash my ROM to cherryblur to see if wifi works again). Unfortunately, i still cannot use internet on my phone despite it saying i am connected.
Can anybody help me with this problem? Thanks in advance.

Has anybody got a solution for this problem? I have been googling this problem up and i came up with practically nothing. I am new to the Android OS so i have never even heard of this problem before.

I was using 2.3.3 Stock firmware with USB Tethering, everything was fine.
I then upgraded it to 2.3.5 (KI3) through Samsung KIES.
Then USB Tethering started to fail. my Windows 7 said there is no internet access (an "!" sign on the connection tray icon)
I then try reactivate this feature from phone, luckily after few attempts, it worked but the speed is very very slow compared to before, how slow?
slower than 56K MODEM!!!
I checked the connection on my galaxy S2 by watching youtube and browsing website! It is completely fine, very speedy! with 3MBps Dn and up speed using speedtest.
but it takes me like 2 minutes just to load a webpage using USB tethering..
Everything was fine before the upgrade.
Please help as I only have this connection, I have no other internet access!!!

If your phone is rooted get Barnacle from the market, works perfectly with 2.3.5

First, I want USB Tethering, not wifi for absolute speed and no need to spend $ on a wifi usb stick.
Secondly, my phone is not rooted... and why can't I use the USB tethering supported by the phone?
I just dont get it why does it not working since I upgrade to 2.3.5.

all right, looks like I have fixed it.
Basically the new firmware upgrade will create another AccessPointName APN. I just do a reset (restoring to default settings), and viola!

Install kies, install usb driver from kies menu, connect phone with cable and let windows do the installation thing, then start usb tethering from phone menu.

i had a htc wildfire S and it has an option "Relais internet" it appears auto when usb cable connected. it connects my phone to computers internet.
Iam really so disappointed to don't see this feature on SGS2
and PLZZZZZZZZZ for people who ask why don't use wifi.

Well there was a "reverse tether" app...
I had it but haven't tried it anytime coz I don't have internet on my PC anymore...so don't know for sure if it works..
It might just work for you...
I know this is very frustrating..has happened to me too when I had just purchased the phone...hadn't got any solution at that time so ended up purchasing a WiFi router..
