Hi all, I am on the Ellipsis7 tablet, i am rooted and was wondering if it possible if I could flash zips without a custom recovery. Basically I am trying to install a system app. Which should be installed via flashing. Although I can't because to my knowledge there is no support for Roms or custom recoveries on my device.
If anyone could offer advice either to flashing or even a custom recovery or ROM that'd be much appreciated
Thanks

Hallo!
I am ZTE Racer II user and i am looking for roms.
1 year of researching and no custom rom available on the net?!?
It was wierd,but that's it.
No roms.
So I need help with developing custom rom for this device, plz!!!
Thanks ahead!
You'll need to have some experience of linux and compiling from source, and knowledge on your phone's internal hardware. You might also need knowledge on the Android platform.
You'll also need to figure out how to get clockworkmod recovery on your phone
Good luck!
A little HELP?
Well ,I am not so good at that stuff ,but i want to have custom ROM.
That's why I ask for someone to make me a custom ROM.
Here is a link of the stock Rom I am using now.

And I installed this ROM via clockwork mod recovery and I'm using it right now.
Thank you ahead!
And I'm sorry the forum does not allow me to post the link because I'm new user!

Hi All,
I tried looking but did not get any concrete answers so, Just wanted to know if custom ROMs are necessary after rooting an S3.
I ask this as I have blown up few of my earlier phones(SG S1 and MMX A110) after various combinations of installing and removing different ROMs, Kernels etc.
So now I was hoping to find out if i just root my S3, will it function as it is now. will the stock ROM still be there, or will i have to download and install the stock ROM zip from somewhere?
I want thinking of rooting this mobile as i need USB mass storage, bloatware removal and a few RAM mgmt tools that i generally have used.
please suggest your views on this topic.

(1) all is answered in the guides if you understand the process of rooting
(2) for you explained: rooting does not delete anything, it just gives you more access, hence your stock rom will still be there, meaning you can root a stock rom and keep it or change to a custom one
This will definitely help http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2362743

The information you provided is not enough .
Do you have any experience in flashing roms ? Is the device unlocked ? which version of android is currently running on the device ?
hi, you need read, read and read and ask, cheers
If it's still running gingerbread then you need to install CM9 at least before jumping to CM11.
Personally I'd install CM9, then CM10, and then CM11.
But before you install any ROMs you'll need to root it and install CWM or TWRP custom recovery.
Greetings.
So I've just got my hands on this device. Model number is i9100, android version is 4.1.2 and it's not rooted. I've previously owned Nexus devices which are pretty straightforward regarding using custom ROMs - you would reboot to bootloader and enter "fastboot oem unlock", flash a recovery and start flashing ROMs. As this is a completely new device to me, can you guide me through what exactly do I need to do to flash custom ROMs on this device? I've seen a lot of resources on this matter, can you link me the best guide out there regarding this? Which is the best recovery? Which is the overall best custom ROM in terms of stability, performance and battery life etc.? Also, is there a guide for flashing stock ROMs? Additionally, I've seen some jigusb thing here. Will I need it to for rooting /unlocking bootloader/flashing recoveries and custom ROMs?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the S2 community,
First thing you need to do is get your phone rooted.
This can be done by flashing Philz kernel via ODIN in the link below.:
Philz Kernel
There are instructions on which one to flash.
Once done, I will need to know what android version you are most interested in. If you want pure stability, you can try slimsaber 4.4.4 by fusionjack here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/development-derivatives/rom-slimsaber-i9100-t2350201 or if you want android marshmallow, you will need to follow this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...es/guide-want-to-update-to-cm13-read-t3313978
If you wanted to flash android lollipop or newer, you need to change your system partition sizes in order to flash Gapps (google apps) where this step was included in my CM13 upgrade guide. This can be done either using my guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...ivatives/mod-increase-partition-size-t3011162 or lanchon's tool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software-hacking/tool-lanchon-repit-data-sparing-t3358036
Let me know if you need any help,
Saber
Thank you very much. If any additional questions pop up, I'll be sure to contact you via PM.
