I installed a custom ROM and accidentally deleted my backup file. Is it possible to recover it? I tried "Undeleter for Root Users" but it doesn't find the backup file. My device (Xiaomi 2S) has a virtual SD card, so I can't put it in a computer. I'm pretty sure the phone use MTP because Recuva doesn't work.

Hi I recently install CM 10.1, I backup my personal files and also made backup via CWM after this I install CM and erase everything I wanted to have a clean start, after doing this I remember, i did not backup my voice recordings they were in the "sound" folder, if i restore the CWM backup is possible to recover this files????
Greetings!
Sorry no as these are on your SD card you deleted. Cwm bk up saves data not SD card. Personal files you bk up was sound file no?
The "sound" folder was in the internal sd saddly i never backup that folder. I already try to restore with out succes it says error during the restore, but i guess im trying to restore something will not get my precious files back
Just erased both my SD Card and Internal Storage to flash CM11 to my i9505. Backed-up everything, though I forgot to backup my Whatsapp message backup (msgstore.db.crypt). I have tried to restore it using DiskDigger, but there's no option for this type of file extension (.db or .crypt). Does anyone know what can I do to restore it? Any help would be appreciated. Sorry for bad English.
I am also looking to recover a .db file from system area of internal SD. Root-access recovery apps like DiskDigger won't look for .db files and hooking up to PC, none of the generic recovery software applications like Recuva can look into the root files. Would love to hear if anyone can think of a way to recover a .db file!
You could try data recovery for android app. It may helps. Good luck.
Hi,
I have a problem with Titanium Backup who doesn't detect/load my backups.
I've used it on my 5.1.1 Z2 with kingroot with no problems. After downgraded >rooted> installed recovery and flashed new roms it installed, gain root acces but didn't detect my backups wich are located in TiBu folder.
I've flashed stock 5.1.1 rom again and rooted with kingroot and problem persists.
Any ideea?
Thanks!
Try setting up your backup folder location manually, go to titanium backup menu/settings --> preferences --> backup folder location
If your backups are on internal memory the default storage provider - filesystem storage should work fine but if your backups are on the external sd card you should change the storage provider to documentprovider storage, choose the root of your external sd in the windows that opens, then choose the correct backup folder in titanium.
As long as your backups are not corrupt this should fix your problem.
Hi, i did try to set the backup location folder and i see there the backups but the app do not load the backups.
It's very annoying. Is there any other app that cand manage TiBu files?
Create backup in internal storage. Copy your backup files from external to same internal location. Enable dev options. Untick 'mount namespace seperation' in SuperSU settings. Deny TiBu root access. Re install TiBu and grant access.
I've solved the problem.
I think all the files were corrupted. I had a copy of backups in my PC and those file worked just fine. The backups were on the SD card and maybe it was unmounted successfully.
Thanks for all the help!
It's titanium's fault. After installing the newest version it didn't detect any backups. After downgrading everything worked fine.
Hello
After flashing cm13 on my s3 my IMEI was lost. Now I can´t restore my efs folder with my TWRP backup.
I have the efs.ext4.win , efs.ext4.win.md5 and efs.info files but dont know how to restore them on my device.
Pleas help me !
Should be simple: tick restore, choose backup file, tick efs. Don't touch the single files.
I tried but twrp does not show the backup folder on the sd card.
Do i have to zip the backup folder ?
As I said: don't touch the backup-files. Did you store your backup on internal storage? You can change storage within backup /restore procedure.
No i stored them on the sd then ticked restore from sd.
Now i move it to the internal storage. Maybe tis works.
didn´t work ether
Means: TWRP doesn't find the backup?
create new backup using twrp (example boot partition) and copy to that folder yours efs files backup, its should work
or try restore using other recorvery arter97
My phone is GT-N7105 (Samsung Note 2)
I had a nandroid backup before, then I copied the backup to PC, still have it. Then I flashed lineage 13. I deleted the nandroid backup on the phone storage. Now I want to restore the backup so I copied the backup files from the PC.
Now when I go to TWRP Restore mode, no backups are found.
I already searched through the internet and found the renaming method but there's a problem:
this is my original backup:
TWRP/backups/42f7491d7b409fc7/2017-03-01--05-28-34_JZO54K.N7105XXDMB
I tried to make a new backup of my current lineage (just to see if the folder name changed based on the new folder the backup process will create), here is what the resulting folder was:
TWRP/backups/42f7491d7b409fc7/2017-07-05--09-27-29_lineage_tOlte-userdebug_6.0.1_MOB31K_ab972c
As you can see, only the innermost folder name changed. So from what I found through searching, it said to rename the old backup folder to the new backup folder's name, meaning :
I changed
2017-03-01--05-28-34_JZO54K.N7105XXDMB
to
2017-07-05--09-27-29_lineage_tOlte-userdebug_6.0.1_MOB31K_ab972c
TWRP still can't see the original backup.
So what should I rename the original backup folder for TWRP to recognize it and make it appear?
Not sure, but i know you must use internal storage, not external sdcard in order to restore . Does it help?

Click to collapse
From the TWRP screen, there's a bar you can tap for 3 choices: internal, external or USB OTG, but I surely put the original backup in internal storage.
The experimental backup I made was in external storage. TWRP can recognize it.
Anyone can help me? I already tried renaming the 6 character code from the original backup folder's name to the 6 char code from new backup. still won't work.
Any helpful ideas please?
