Hi All,
Thanks for viewing this post. This is my first post on xda.
My phone is soft bricked. When I start my device, it gets stuck at the "Samsung S II GT-I9100" logo. I have read many post on xda before posting and I never yet found any solutions.
What I can do and what I can not:
I can enter "Download Mode"
I can't enter CMW
What I tried:
First I tried flashing official firmware JB 4.1.2(confirmed not corrupted firmware) (Stuck at "Nand write start" and later fails)
I tried flashing official firmware ICS 4.0.3(I read that 4.0.4 would brick your phone) (Stuck at "Nand write start" and later fails)
Changed between 3 different cables (Stuck at "Nand write start" and later fails)
End tasked all "Samsung Kies" tasks then retried (Stuck at "Nand write start" and later fails)
Tried with latest Samsung Drivers (Stuck at "Nand write start" and later fails)
Tried 3 different PCs. One PC had Windows 7 32-bit and the other two PCs had Windows 7 64-bit (Stuck at "Nand write start" and later fails)
I tried Odin 1.85 and 3.07 (Stuck at "Nand write start" and later fails)
I tried flashing "Siyah-s2-v6.0b5.tar" as PDA on Odin. (Stuck at "Nand write start" and later fails)
When I tried "Siyah-s2-v6.0b5.tar", I got an yellow exclamation mark below the logo and it no more has the official firmware. But still have the same problem, stuck at "Nand write start."
My device has no warranty.
I NEVER TRIED .PIT FILES OR RE-PARTITION. I also never tried the other fields(PHONE, CSC, BOOTLOADER). I only used the PDA field.
I went through this thread but don't understand well http://forum.xda-developers.com/chef-central/android/nand-write-start-fail-odin-soluction-t2851096/page2..
Any fix for "Nand write start"? Please help.

Thanks for the reply bro. But, I have Jelly Bean 4.1.2. The thread is only for GB and ICS users...
you can still use the guide to attempt to recover your phone.. if successful, you can then upgrade back to jellybean.
btw when using odin on windows, be sure to 'open/run as administrator'
No luck

Hmm, I tried GB and JB firmware, downloaded from SamMobile, I still get the same "Nand Write."
I also tried Heimdall, I get "ERROR: Failed to confirm end of file transfer sequence!".
Any other ideas? I really want to make my phone alive..It's been dead for too long.

Hello there,
Well, my Galaxy S 2, after uninstalling a program, got an error (black screen, need to restart...) and so doesn't start anymore (freezes at "Samsung Galaxy S II" screen) or enter in recovery mode (freezes with the robot on background, without letters). I have the download mode yet.
I tried to flash a rom with odin, but it freezes at "NAND write start" process (I've waited 30 min), and I have to abort disconecting the phone.
Could anyone help me?
Thanks
You get into the download mode. That's good. The flashing fails. That's not good.
We need more info to help you. The fact that you had some error and now cannot flash some firmware does not really help us. At least me...
Here are some questions I have:
What firmware did you try to flash?
What Operating System are you using?
Do you have KIES installed?
or
Where do you got the drivers from?
Did ODIN work in the past or did you never use it before?

Thank you for answering.
I've never flashed any firmware before on this phone (it has the original one). I tried to flash the stock XXKI1, using just the PDA field. So, Odin still at "NAND write start" part.
As I said, I had an error after uninstalling an app (launcher error), that I've forced to remove the battery. After that, the phone didn't start anymore (freeze at "Samsung Galaxy SII" screen), and I can't enter in recovery mode.
I don't have Kies installed (got the drivers separated).
Sorry that it took me so long to answer you.
If you still have the problem, I'll try my best to guide you through the process of restoring your device.
What do you want to install on your device?
-A stock rom
-A customrom based on TouchWiz
-CyanogenMod
-MIUI
Just let me know and I'll help you asap.
A stock rom...
Okay, where do you live? Or more accurate, what language do you want to use later?
Your first step is to get the "Heimdall Suite" up and running on your PC.
Download it from their homepage. Extract it somewhere where you can easily find it later. Then you'll need to install the drivers.
Put your phone into download-mode and plug it in. If they aren't installed yet, Windows will now start the installation. When completed, open the "drivers"-folder in the Heimdall folder. Run "zDiag" as administrator.
Enable the show all devices option and select either "Samsung USB composite device" or "Gadget serial" (depending on what's available in your dropdown-list). Install the driver and ignore the warning from Windows (install it anyway).
Now that everything is set up, your first step is to get the ".pit" file for your device. I'll check whether yours is valid. Open the Heimdall frontend as administrator and go into the last tab. Click on detect device and, if your device gets detected, click on print pit. If you get errors in the output, disconnect your phone, shut it down and enter download-mode again. Retry.
Please post the output here.

Upon waking up this morning, I found that my phone was stuck on the (very first) Samsung logo. Before going to sleep, I was already booted and everything was stable.
I attempted to enter CWM recovery, but it would not work. It would continue restarting to show the Samsung logo.
Entering download mode, I see the following -
Product name:
Custom Binary Download: No
Current Binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Custom
This is strange, and pretty wrong. My product name is empty, custom binary download is "No" instead of at least "3" (I never have used TriangleAway), and I wasn’t using an official Samsung ROM before the problem.
If I attempt to flash a full stock, multi-part .tar.md5 file in PDA, ODIN v3.04 shows a "There is no PIT partition." error and fails. Re-partition is not ticked.
Therefore, I’ve tried to flash each of the following, with re-partition ticked:
GT-I9300_mx_20120220.pit
GT-I9300_mx_20120322.pit
GT-I9300_mx_20120329.pit
Each of them fail with a "Re-Partition operation failed." error.
If I try to flash a .pit file and the full .tar.md5, I get the same "Re-Partition operation failed." error.
Once a flash fails, I need to turn my phone off and on into download mode again, or else ODIN will stop.
The same thing happens for both ODIN v1.85 and v3.04, I’ve taken my battery in and out, I’ve tried this on two different computers, I’ve used every USB port, my Samsung drivers are up to date and Kies it not running in the background.
Maybe Your phone made a suicide, look on this thread:

Similiar sympthomes, on mornig phone is dead and the PIT is unavaliable.
Hi,
I have a Samsung S2. It gets stuck at the "Samsung S II i9100" logo. I tired flashing with Odin and I get stuck at "NAND write start" and then later fails. So I figured out that its the EMMC chip problem and I guess the only way to fix it is to re-partition it or replace the chip.
My device:
Samsung SII I9100, 16 GB, 4.1.2. JB Stock (I think its rooted, and not really sure)
What I can do and what I can not:
I can enter "Download Mode"
I can't enter CMW
What I tired with Odin:
So can anyone please help me with re-partitioning my device and which pit file I should use?
Many Thanks!!

You can use any of the pit files available there as you need. I have personally tried with 3 gb pit file and it worked correctly.
Read the OP properly if you want to do it right.
I have no custom ROM

My phone was previously rooted (can't remember if I used mobogenie or Kingoroot). I un-rooted using superuser in an attempt to get the update to 4.4. when I tried to boot in recovery mode it says "System software not authorized by AT&T has been found on your phone. Please turn off your phone and go to the nearest ATT store for help" and "Secure Fail: KERNEL". It can be put in download mode. I've tried using odin to go back to the stock rom but get a "fail" everytime (with the pit file and without) and the message "Complete(Write) operation failed". I also tried to push files using fastboot but the computer doesn't recognize my device when I type "adb devices" -- nothing comes up. I also tried Kies but it just keeps saying "connecting" but never does.
Ultimately what I am trying to achieve is #1 unbrick the phone (of course) and #2 to end up with at least 4.4 (or possibly higher if available).
Try flashing just the boot loader in odin. That saved me several times
Hello,
After a tentative firmware update I now get the 'Firmware upgrade encountered an issue' error message when I boot my Samsung tab P5110. I have tried to connect via Kies but Kies does not recognize it. I have then tried various versions of Odin (3.7, 3.9, 3.10) associated to several .tar.md5 that I found on the sammobile and other websites as well. Some {Odin, .md5} couples do lead to a successfull flashing result. The strange thing is that at the end of the succesfull flashing result Odin says 'Restart' or 'Reboot' but my P5110 never reboots, even after 15min. If I then reboot it manually (Volume Down +Power) I get again the 'Firmware upgrade encountered an issue' error message.
I am really lost and do not know what very minimal 'thing' I could flash to get pass this error message...
Thanks for your precious help
