Beanstalk ROM question - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

I downloaded the beanstalk ROM latest version. I noticed that my signal strength isn't as good as the stock ROM. I normally get full LTE on stock however with beanstalk I see only 1-2 bars of LTE and when I make a call it goes to Hspa+ or 3g. I have ucmd3 radio. Is there a patch or fix to get better signal. Thanks

I believe most think it is just how cm,aokp, aosp based ROMs read signal. But from my days in the E4GT community, I believe it is kernel related.
There is no fix currently because it is not being seen as an issue, but I'm looking into it..as well as a couple other common problems with our kitkat builds.

Do you have a theme applied in the cm theme engine. Could cause such an issue.
Besides that..I'm not sure. Been a while since I ran that ROM. Make sure your download was good..check md5 sum

The first standard question most want to know is....
Was your flash clean?
If you go in dirty it will cause all sorts of problems

Lol..i forgot to ask.

I don't do dirty flashes always leads to problems. So no

I've been fighting my device today..lol. But I will look into this. Did you try redownloading the ROM and compare md5s . I'm not sure if that ROM has a posted md5..so having a couple downloads and comparing md5s is a work around to insure a good download.

I've only tested the Blaze modems but I came across a thread somewhere in the i717 Development forum that had build.prop edits that you can apply with a file explorer. I'm gonna give it a shot this weekend.
This is gonna sound dumb, but how do I check which modem I have? I know how to flash roms and all that, but I had to take my Note to a guy to unlock it and flashed a different Modem, but I want to know which one I have lol.

Mine says " T989UVLE1.
Is that supposed to be the right one? I'm running the Collective rom. I haven't updated to the new one though. Would one of these other modems make me go faster or is it just a trial and error type of thing?

NO. T-Mobile download and upload speeds are Incredibe and Insane! This is just what we're able to pull with the port, which isn't bad. It's actually better or equal to Sprint 4G in my area on my NS4G.
I just switched from t-mo due to UL speeds of .1 to .4 mbps using the blaze modem and the foil mod. DL speeds were 5-8, sometimes in the red zone.
Went to Straight talk for the att towers and switched to the latest ucle 6 modem. I am a little disappointed in the speeds. Avg. 3-4 mbps down, and .7 to 1.5 up. The only good thing is call forwarding works and You Mail is functioning- the only thing I missed on t-mo. Will have to think if it's worth it for $15 more a month.

Does anyone have LTE on AOSP/CM/AOKP?

I am on the latest radio and firmware from the 3.15 RUU, and tried every 'stock' android ROM that I could find and none of them have working LTE. Am I doing something wrong, and if anyone has a stock android ROM with working LTE please let me know the name of it.

This could be a daily driver, except for SMS not being able to send. We are going to need help to be able to use CM11 on our devices. I am going to flash this again, in a day or two and get a logcat. I'll post it here in hopes that someone can help us figure out what the problem is.

The data dropping is also an issue for their phones, and the devs seem to be getting a handle on it. The SMS issue is ours, alone. As such we will need help from someone with a DE to solve, I suspect.

In the OP I posted a link on how to access APN. Quoted here > "OK so I was messing around in settings under mobile networks when I pressed carrier settings it immediately FC's settings but when I went back in mobile networks I got two notifications (just ringtone) and I now have access to my APN settings. Weird huh anyone else done this?
Edit: I have to hit ok on the fc prompt and go back into mobile networks before the notification sounds. If I'm fast enough the access point names won't be greyed out anymore"
Be sure to click "save" before exiting editing APN.
This does work. But after changing APN to VZWinternet, we still have the same two problems, i.e. can't send SMS and can't hang up from a phone call.
The problem is not with APN settings. These affect data, LTE, 4g, mms, etc. And we can edit APN for VZW.
I suspect the root of the problem lies in build.prop commands. I made a few changes to build.prop related to network, radio and ril. Result was either no effect or would not boot. This is too complicated for me....

[MOD] [WIP] APN/Data/Call Flashable zip for custom ROMs [Status Update 5/16]

Here is a flashable zip for roms to get sprint data to work (flashes the apns from and2 update). This is for future development and possibly to get data for other variant roms as well. Also, this zip may help if data lost for one reason or another (we all know its happened before one way or another). I've also loaded the apn-config with added apns for various variants. Uploaded to help development. This zip will (on international versions right yet) only give data and call signal (only broke thing is sms sending, can receive sms and send/receive mms great). As always....

The international ROMs are currently being worked on to work with Sprint variant, still trying myself to getting the APNs to work currently. They may release update (most ROms reported) before next week with Sprint fix. Normally though, you'd flash kernel after Wipe Data/Cache then ROM flash before kernel or any MODs.

SM-G900F is standard international, GSM, qualcomm version for Samsung S5. Sorry, I goofed in typing, its 1:10 am here haha. But they're porting the ROM for everyone (CDMA and GSM soon). The one I tried so far is Shohat ROM to test some features, but data limits my testing for now. Until data (them or me) gets it working, the ROMs are limited.... for now haha.

CM 11 and 12 unified builds no gsm data

When CM when unified I lost gsm data. I am using the i545 with a gsm carrier (T-Mobile) I have tried everything I can think of and searched for hours looking for a fix to no avail.
Since nothing I have tried fixes it so I am hoping some one might have a fix, maybe I missed the one thread that would fix it I don't know. Help?

For the cm12 one, you need to call yourself from another phone after every boot. Then it works fine. I use cm12 and it works for me like that
