[Q] xperia ray, dropping calls all the time. - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

I'm having a problem making and receiving calls with my xperia ray (it either takes too long to connect, can't connect, or it drops calls when I'm in the middle of them). I have installed android 4.04.
I read somewhere that it could be a proximity sensor problem with these phones so have made quite a few calls since on speaker phone and that seems to be working fine so far. is there anyway to test if this is the actual issue, and a way to fix it?
I have not rooted my phone but was planning on doing it anyway if/when I can fix this problem.
I've had the phone for around abouts a year and a half there have been some other issues but I think they are unrelated (tired battery I think, it gives up within 5-10 hours generally. also had some issues in the past sending/receiving texts but I believe that may have been a network issue.

anyone? the call dropping definitely seems to be something with the proximity sensor as it hasn't occured when I've been using speakerphone. I recall reading about a a fix for this but can't find it anymore....

[Q] Calls dropping/Bluetooth disconnecting

I love the Vibrant. Most things work fabulously, however, I'm on my 3rd one (for completely different and unrelated reasons), and this issue just won't go away. It's ironic, all of the whiz-bang functions work flawlessly, but the issues with the basic functioning as a PHONE are getting old. When I'm on the road, more times than not I will be in the middle of a call, and it will plain drop. I NEVER had a call drop with the trusty dusty G1 for almost 2 years. I may have narrowed it down to one of 3 things, but they are not consistent: 1) If I have rebooted and forget to turn off the "auto update of time" function, and it does it's thing, it drops then. If I get another call while I'm on a call, it will do it then. If I'm using Google Voice, it seems to happen even more frequently. The other annoying thing is that every day, at least several times a day, I will try to make or answer a call and the Bluetooth will have plain disconnected randomly. I have Jabra JX10's for both home & the car. Is there anyone else who has had these issues, and have any insight as to what may be causing them? It did both when I had just gotten each, so I can't see that it's the ROM, kernel or lagfix. I've asked this before, and I hate to use the "F" (Froyo) word, but if it comes, will it include a new/stronger radio that maybe the issues will be solved? Oh yeah, one final thing, and this may be solely Google Voice related, but often when a call drops or fails to connect, if I try to make another, I hear an ear piercing ridiculous static sound until I reboot. Someone please tell me that I am not the only one who has ever had these issues and that my phone is possessed by aliens. TIA...

No sound in calls unless on speakerphone.

I've recently noticed that I don't get sound when making a phone call unless I change to speakerphone. I don't make many calls so I don't know exactly how long it's been happening, but I first noticed it a couple weeks ago. I know that the other person can hear me fine when I'm on either setting. I've also switched ROMs, from Alien to the new CM7 beta, with no change.
Has this happened to anyone else? Is it most likely a hardware problem? I've never dropped my phone or anything, and it's only 3 months old. Does anyone know of an app that can test the normal phone speaker, because all other sounds have been working fine.
Thanks for any suggestions!

My guess is it's a hardware problem. I would have it checked out by your mobile phone company.
You can also look up "hardware test" in market and you will find apps there you can use to test your hardware. Sorry not to recommend one. There are many there if you look them up.
Sent from my Atrix XDA Premium App
Thanks for the response. I looked for an app already and didn't find anything useful. There were tests for just about everything else; touch screen, sensors, GPS, etc., and only two that I found that had an audio test at all. However, neither of them allowed me to specifically test the "phone" speaker.
I just think it's weird that all other sounds work fine. I'd really rather test it before I send it in to Motorola.
Thanks again!
This was a common issue on the Motorola Defy's. I had to send mine to Moto for repair. If you're within a year, AT&T will replace it.
I am having this exact same problem with homebase. but mine is intermittent it will work straight after a reboot
More sound issues
In my case I just updated from Froyo to Gingerbread, everything was working perfectly, when suddenly i stopped listening to the earpiece, the loudspeaker still works during calls,
On the other hand, if I try listening to music or any other sound, the loudspeakers dont work... any ideas of what could have caused the problem? It feels like some sort of driver issue, because while trying our the earpiece and loudspeaker during a call I was able to listen to one second of conversation through the earpiece...
i do have exactly the same issue...
putting pressure just beneath the fingerprint scanner, makes the earpiece work for an instant ...
its definitely a hardware issue...
m really fed up with dead spots on touchscreen n this earpiece issue....

[Q] tmo - htc one mic issue when phone is hot

I've been having a problem with the mic for the past few weeks where the mic stops working when the phone is around 43c and over and as the phone cools around 37-38c I get nothing but a load of static through the mic until it's cools further and then the mic works as it should, has anyone else came accross this issue or heard of any possible fixes
I took the phone to carphone warehouse where I got it from and they sent it for repair, when I got it back they state that they solved it with a software update and tested it to manufactures specification, unfortunately though the day I got it back i tested it myself and the same problem persists, I've looked around and found a few people with mic issues but theirs don't seem to fail at a certain temperature as mine does it seems that theirs is either a constant problem or random occurrence
The mic is affected for calls and camera but seems to work fine when using loud speaker for calls so leads me to think it could be software related as I would of thought the mic wouldn't work at all if it was hardware related but as I say seems fine on loud speaker
I could possibly exchange it for another HTC one but it's carphone warehouse's policy to replace with a reconditioned phone instead of new and I could get another phone with more/worse problems so was hoping I could find someone with some advice on how to maybe sort the issue or heard of any possible fixes being worked on by HTC before taking it back for replacement because I'm not going to waste another 2 weeks waiting for them to repair it again when they didn't fix it the first time round
The phone has never been rooted and it running android 4.2.2
Thanks
Thanks

[Q] Call dropping in the Galaxy S6 edge

I have been experiencing a peculiar problem with my Galaxy S6 edge quite frequently.
Many times I try to call a person, the phone does not connect.
I have to then restart the phone and then it works.
Also, every once in a while, when I am talking to someone, the person on the other end suddenly is unable to hear me while I can hear him.
Could anyone advice me how to fix this ? Is this a SIM card issue ?
I cut the normal sim card to a micro-sim ?
I have had this same problem. I've only started noticing it over the last week or 2. It started dropping calls right around the same time that my auto-rotate stopped working. I wonder if the quick charge is also burning something related to the modem/antenna in addition to the accelerometer.

Fingerprint, battery, microfone problems

Hi. It has been 2 months since i bought my V10-H960A. Since last week, my phone has been not functioning well for some reason which i have no idea about. First, i started getting a battery error when i reboot my phone. It says invalid battery and turns off. After removing sd and sim cards and waiting for a while, it starts working again. But whenever i turn my phone off, this problem reoccurs.
Second, my fingerprint sensor does not works. It was working since last week but its totally gone. I havent done anything that can cause a damage.
Third, yesterday when i received a call, i tried to speak but i realised that the person that was calling me, was not hearing me. I was thinking that there was a problem with the microphone. Then i made a few calls and found out that, when i call someone, they actually can hear me if i put the call on speaker. So i cant be sure if the problem is with microphone or with sth else.
Lastly, my phone hasnt been running fast enough and were overheating during last week, probably caused by the problems above.
Is there anyone that faced any of these problems?
