I was restoring my phone from a back up which said failed and automatically rebooted my phone. Now my phone goes to the when HTC screen and the the screen turns off. I am unable to get it into recovery mode. Please help.
Its not bricked, you just don't know what to do, which is not a brick.
Is the phone bootlooping (rebooting, boot screen and repeating this)? If so, just hold the vol down key until the bootloader screen comes up (it will do so on the next reboot cycle).
If its not looping, but simply stuck with screen on, hold power and vol up for several seconds to force a reboot. The moment the screen does dark, let go of vol up, and hold vol down. Don't let go until the bootloader screen appears. If it doesn't work, either you didn't press vol down fast enough, or let go too early. Bootloader is always available as long as the screen comes on.
Once in bootloader, select recovery. If recovery doesn't boot from there, you might have to install again with fastboot/adb.
Alternately:
adb reboot bootloader
or
adb reboot recovery
Give us a status report if you got it going
I had a similar problem a few weeks ago..my assumption is you didn't wipe anything when you were able to get into recovery...

You'll have to fastboot flash a recovery IMG...

Power + Vol Down will get you into bootloader mode. Connecting a cable from your phone to your computer will show you fastboot USB while your phones in bootloader mode

So i was trying to revert back stock. i flashed a stock rom removed superuser and then rebooted into bootloader via fasrboot and oem lock.
after that, i now get lg security error #9 modified.
i try recovery but that fails with a secure boot error.
i cant get my pc to detect my phone.... is it gg?
or is there button commands to access bootloader manually on startup?

Recovery:
With the device completely off, press and hold the Power and Volume Down button until you can see the recovery mode displayed on the device’s screen.
Download Mode:
1) Power off the phone.
2) Press and hold the Power Button and Volume Down.
3) While holding the Power and Volume Down buttons, insert the USB cable connected to a windows computer.
4) Continue holding the Power and Volume Down buttons until Download Mode is displayed on the phone, then you can release the buttons and unplug the cable if you wish.
To boot into bootloader manually, you hold vol down and plug a cable in with the device off

ill save this though, thanks!
so after installing the latest twrp using twrp app; I tried to boot into recovery and my phone is just stuck on fastboot. I'm not able to turn phone off. Tried different solutions but nothing seems to help. the only command to work is reboot booloader which takes me to the same screen. after searching these threads I have not found anyone with this phone having that issue. any help would be appreciated.
fyi tried 3 different cables, 2 different computers lol.
I discovered that if you hold Volume + and Power while on any screen until it turns off and on and off and on and off again, you can boot in to recovery. (Before I had to take apart the phone and remove the battery lol) Just hold these two buttons for about 25 seconds and eventually it will boot in to twrp/stock recovery
Easier way I think.. .. . Hold power and volume up buttons until end of the second vibration, then release power. After you see the recovery screen - then you can release volume up.

battery finally drained. I tried the volume down + power, released when it vibrates but doesn't get me to recovery. I'm gonna charge it for about 2 minutes and try it again. at least I don't have to worry about this damn thing exploding and setting my place on fire while I'm gone lol.
update: so I tried again and as soon as plug the phone to charge it goes in to fastboot. tried volume down and power. release when it vibrates and it wont get to recovery. I also found a stock file somewhere b322 or 320. put it on a dload folder and did the 3 button trick and nothing either. time to trash this damn thing I guess lol.
Volume UP + power - go back and read my last post carefully for how to get to recovery.

so ok, I tried volume up + power and nothing. phone is on fastboot wont turn off. it restarts but wont stay off.
From your PC folder where you should have a copy of fastboot.exe and put a copy TWRP.img file for the phone:
> fastboot boot TWRP.img
Then if that works, you should be able to turn it off from the TWRP menu - and maybe you need to reflash TWRP if you have not done so yet.

My friend was just stuck at the fastboot screen for hours now and he gave up. I grabbed the phone and held all the buttons, vol up + down + power and when it vibrated I let go of the volume buttons and kept the power till the logo came up then let go and it booted up normally. Not sure why after hrs of trying to figure it out that this worked and I never read to do that. Just wanted to share in case anyone has a phone stuck. I flashed different versions of twrp an could not get into recovery at all.
I just put my phone in fastboot/bootloader mode, then held the power button in until the phone vibrated, then released the power button - after that the phone booted up to normal mode.

Oh ok good to know. Maybe me holding the volumes buttons did nothing so I had basically did what you did since I did let go of the power button right after.
Seems that way, and it's easy enough for you to confirm his phone works the same way just to be sure.

Hello, everybody. I have a Samsung Tab 10 1 which does not function properly with the volume lowering button (it is always pressed at hardware level) and it ALWAYS enters the safe mode.
Since the hardware level button fix is very expensive here in my country, it occurred to me to root to the tablet and disable by modifying the system files the volume button. This would never activate the safe mode and control the volume through any application.
The point is that I can't access the download mode, as the volume down button is continuously pressed, the tablet is reset by entering the download mode. So I was wondering if there is any way to access the download mode WITHOUT THE BUTTONS.
Please REMEMBER that my tablet is NOT ROOTEED.
Thank you very much for reading, if there is any other solution to my main problem, I appreciate you sharing it.

How about installing Twrp via Odin. Once installed, turn off tablet and press the Home button, Volume up and Power buttons at the same time to enter Twrp. At the main menu of Twrp, select "Reboot", then "Download" which will put you in Download mode.

You can install Twrp by using Odin (does not require root). Once installed, turn tablet off, then press Home, Volume Up and Power buttons at the same time to enter Twrp. At the Twrp main screen tap on "Reboot" then tap on "Recovery".

Sorry for the multiple posts. Nothing was showing up as I posted last night.
Just reread your post. So Volume Down button + Power button puts you in Safe mode. That means my suggestion won't work. Sorry
Android Comunidad ‑ "How do I Allow oem unlock if i can't boot phone at all "
Motorola G4 Plus
The phone suddenly went black and it shows Motorola red logo with blue background for 3 seconds and then black, and then the logo again. And it goes like this for ever.
-I can access Fastboot by holding Vol down.
-Power button does not seem stuck since it allows me to access all options inside Fastboot but only 2 work minimally: 1) POWER OFF= Turns my phone off 2) SWITCH TOOLS MODE= goes from DISABLED TO ENABLED (don't know what it is for though)
-When selection options "START", "RECOVERY MODE" or "FACTORY MODE" phone starts repeating the logo/black/logo sequence again and does not stop until i access Fastboot and POWER OFF.
I read that another option was to hold POWER + Vol UP but no matter how much i do it it does not do anything.
I tryed to unlock the bootloader but when i'm about to end and enter the code "fastboot oem unlock CODE I RECEIVED FROM MOTOROLA" it says ALLOW OEM UNLOCK on the device but I CANT EVEN TURN MY PHONE ON, it won't let me that far.
What should i do? PLEASE HELP!!!!

Go find your stock firmware package for your time and flash it in fastboot. Or all the partitions of your firmware if you can't flash the full firmware. After you get your your phone booting normally you can oem unlock it
Also please post this in q and a this is not theme related
There is a section for this device.

Are you sure you have Stock recovery on board? Not TWRP ?
Try this:
1/ turn off your phone , plug it to PC, press and hold Power and Volume Up por 10 sec, device will boot into e-Recovery > select Wipe data/factory reset
or
2/ dial *#*#2846579#*#* from the phone dialer, select Restore Factory.
