I have a d2tmo t999 and I've recently tried out Slimkat 4.4.4, C-ROM 4.4.4, CM11, and Pacman ROM . All work fine, even the camera, until I start SnapChat. After that no camera, in app or just plain camera, will work. I get the "error opening camera, please restart device" error. Anyone have any clue what's going on? I've flashed and reflashed but the problem remains consistent.
Quick update. Restarting the device allows the camera to work again. Starting Snapchat causes the problem again though. I didn't have this problem on the stock rooted firmware.
This forum is for i9300 only.

Mods, could you move this thread? Sorry, I'm new.
Installed a new superuser binary and it seems to have fixed it for now.

I'm not allowed to reply in the development forum, do i have to do this here.
I flashed this Rom two times. The first time everything worked well. Then I tried an other Rom. After a short test i wanted to switch back to this Rom (full wipe, flash two times...), but the camera stops working.
So i reverted to an rooted stock rom and tried this one again. But the camera doesnt work.
I'm not sure, i think on my first try i had an unsigned kernel (yellow triangle on startupscreen). Could this be an course for camera problems?
Greetz
No.. i dont think insecure kernel has anything to do with it/..i had problems with that rom too..flashed twice..but mms kept crashing..i would wait for a update to fix those bigs before using that rom
Is my eyes playing tricks or has this ROM just disappeared from the Galaxy S II Original Android Development forum?
Anyone care to share what happened?
There is allready a thread about this, tl;dr version.
The rom used a kernel without providing source code this breaching the gpl, so it was taken down.

You have a bad download...and flash ...
Log into samfirmware.com and search your device....
I believe the tools menu will get you started on a clean download.
You can download a camera app from the market and see if it is the camera or the rom.

Good idea ranger ...it could be a device issue ..but with all the kies failures running around ...I went there first ...g
Try going to manage apps, camera, clear data and see if that clears it up.
My camera sometimes works

you can try flash new stock rom by odin, then root and flash rom cook
No luck to any of the rooms, even original, even cooked.
Can be a hardware issue?
I did not had before this issue, only after updating to JB 4.1.x.
I tried to go also back to 4.0.x.
Same issue.

Hi guys,I installed WanamLite ROM 6.6 and Perseus kernel 36.3 with undervolt settings. My phone is ASV6 type. I had problem with my camera. It says "Can't connect to camera". I also tried third party camera like Camera360 and the Nexus 4 camera.
I installed AOSP ROMs like Temasek's CM10.1 with his kernel. But still no luck. The rest of things are working fine.
I flashed back to Stock ROM with latest 4.1.2 jellybean firmware.
But the weird thing is, why the camera are working only Stock ROM? It is still working although I rooted it.
Any ideas?
EDIT: I was thinking that it is a kernel issue, so I tried to flash other kernel. But still didn't work.
EDIT 2: Typo " why the camera are working only Stock ROM?"
Actually for AOSP roms the error is quite a know problem. Nevertheless Wanam is based on Samsung TW, hence camera should work fine.

Thanks for replying, FYI I've flashed MIUI ROM v4 for a while. Still does't work. So I can confirm that I have the problem when installing a custom ROM.
Hello,
I flashed my xperia t (using flashtool) with a stock firmware 4.3 that had cwm6.0.4 already with it. Then from the cm update options in settings i updated it to latest version of cm11 Nightly (20140430). I had also flashed gapps for 4.4 kit kat. Everything was working fine, but then it crashed with a blue screen and rebooted. Then it happened again and again like every 20/30 minutes. Last time it has happened, i was trying to change my background and the blue screen came up and rebooted. Does anybody know what the problem might be? I greatly appreciate your help.
Ok, I'm pretty sure i know what the issue is. I noticed that cm11 overclocked my processor to fastest available and that is what was crashing the phone. I think.
And this is related to aokp how?
