It's possible the cable for those keys is disconnected. When you pop the back off, the connector is under the white sticker below and to the left of the camera.
My power button went bad and is due to be delivered today, so ironically I just finished taking mine apart.
Thanks but I don't think that's the case. The buttons were working fine before the update. Also, if I keep the power button pressed for 10 seconds, the screen goes off. So there doesn't seem to be anything physically wrong with the button.
first of all when it goes to bootloader and if your cable is connected to PC, automatically it goes to fastboot usb

Before everyone says search the forum, I have been looking all over the forum for the last hour and a half. I just need someone to point me in the direction of where I can find a way to re-flash this phone, I dont care what version of what, as long as it works. We have this phone at our shop, and just need to get it working to the point where it can be resold. I obviously cant access activesync with the phone, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Try a hard reset. Hold both softkeys and then reset with stylus, hold ALL keys in until it prompts to reset to factory (something like that) press "r" on slideout keyboard then space bar. should go through the startup sequence again.
Cheers...
Just put it in boot loader mode and flash a new rom. Hold the top button on the right side of the phone and the ok button on the left and do a reset. Hold the pin in until the boot screen comes up....Then connect your cable and flash a rom...but check to make sure it is hardspl. The wiki has references for all of this.
SOLVED.
First time using odin, lets say it didnt go well for 3 steps, click rom, hit flash...
Anyways, how do I fix this error?
Any and all help thanks.

STUCK AT PHONE ! COMPUTER:
Plug in the USB cable.

Press and hold the power button with your right index finger.
The screen will go black, continue holding.
The screen will come back on, you’ll see the same Phone to Computer icon
Continue holding, the screen will go black
The screen will come back on, you should see "Vibrant" release the power button and you it should go into Downloading

Hello. I have an A13 tablet 7", 5 multitouch screen FT5X chipset. I was working on getting the touch screen to work and I pushed a different FT5X driver (BIN file) and after that the tablet seems dead. Screen never lights up, charge light comes on when plugged in to power or via USB but computer never sees a USB device (tried on different computers). Normally I can throw a flash on it by holding volume + then plugging in USB then tapping power once every 10 seconds but that's not working.
Any help would be appreciated. Is there a way to whipe the internal SD?
I put rubber bands around it to hold the power button, hoping that would drain the battery.
Attached is a picture of the board. Device actually has a reset button on it.

I put rubberbands on the power button overnight and tried the next day, usb was found and was able to restore it. Now just need to get the touchscreen working again!
Happy new years everyone.
So I've had my phone rooted since May 2013 when I first bought it and no problems since. However when I woke up today I noticed the keyboard wouldn't show in my browsers nor when I would send text messages. So I thought the restarting would fix the issue. That's when I realized the phone didn't turn on again. The screen is black. Any fixes
If you can do this i will be able to unbrick your phone for you
Try and power on your device holding down power and vol - for about 1 min

So I have an old Nexus 5 that doesn't turn on. Had the power button issue, the boot loop when on charge issue so I tried to fix the power button and ended up completely breaking it. Its still in the phone but its either broken off or part of it is, either way, its just not working regardless of the issue. so I been messing with it for a few hours and managed to get it turned on into fastboot mode and i cant select anything cause the power button isn't working lol. Is there a way to get it to boot up from this screen, or anyway possible at all to boot this thing up without the power button being functional? I guess I can't even turn it off either lol. I Attached a picture of fast boot mode just so its perfectly clear where im trying to boot from even though its not of the phone in question.
Thanks
