Heya folks ^^ I been wondering like hell.. Alot of people says Cm beats stock easy on battery performance, I wanna know if this is true, So i dont decide to unlock BL for nothing :S :S :S :S So is it worth it ?

This is always expected. Sony camera app has different post processing compared to CM camera and google camera. I wouldnt say the quality is bad as the photos is still decent but it struggles during low-light in which this camera is designed for. Mostly my photos taken with CM11 has this pinkish tint.

Yea that's what I'm afraid of if I go the cm route. If there was a bug free way of keeping Sony stock, but using aosp type quick settings / toggles, I'd be happy. But Sony's quick settings are a step back from stock android. Sony's is very limited and gives less information. Don't know why Sony would take something good and make it worse.

Well I flashed the NL generic, so far this is what I have found after installing without wipeing my data. I did fastboot ics11 kernel for root then flashed back stock kernel
More responsive
Quicker app launching
Quicker widget picker launching
Buttons more responsive
Camera quick launch is faster and so far no errors
I can't say anything about the battery yet as it's to soon.
I have noticed though that with cpu spy it's showing that it's not going into deep sleep quite as much as uk generic .453 was
I'll see how it goes through tomorrow.
I have requested in the Sony forums a feature to allow the use of Onavo Extend which didn't work in the last ICS version, with this update it is now possible to use this app.

Yes, that would come in handy instead of having to install a 3rd party app, but they will probably adress that in another update.
This version still has the messaging bug which uses to much characters when using accents, still have to use handcent..

How did you do all of this? Can you teach me how? I'm waiting for the Xperia S to come and this is my first time owning a smartphone(coz I'm poor. Haha) and I don't really know how to root or apply mods or even update Xperia S to ICS (But I found a thread here regarding that so might as well follow that.) Thank bro!

Here you have a Fix for the Google Sync. Also fixes the Camera in the latest Verizon firmware and Custom 2.3.4 kernels. I hope we can fix other stuff aswell in this thread!

I can confirm it fixes camera but you should reword it to say with custom 2.3.4 kernels. Because camera wasn't broken with stock kernel

I tested gmail and i got emails fine so i thonk it works but i had it open waiting for the email so i dont know if notifications do. Ill report back after a little while. Thanks again vokal. Your awesome! You fixed our problem and dont even have an r800x :thumbup:

Hey i think this might have fixed camera but broken video. Im using lupus v8 480 gb. Could it be a kernel problem? Should i test another kernel?
Edit: Nevermind i had the camera quality on high instead of low sorry my bad it works!

OK I've tested for a couple days and gsync doesn't work. I only get emails after manually refreshing or rebooting. I don't use it much anyway so I don't care but others might.

hi can someone try this fix in trueancestor, dixperia or any r800i/a rom because i can install any rom on r800x but camcorder forces close in high or youtube quality
I just realized a problem... After flashing this fix, wifi misbehaves like it did in 2.3.3, and I have to use a static IP everywhere I go. It's a huge pain, could you fix this?

That's because your probably using 480p of lupus. Use 720p

I re-did it, with no luck. It tries to obtain the IP, and then fails.

Dont Know Why But I Love This Camera Better Than The One That Are Bundle On Each AOSP based rom. this flashable zip will delete and replace CMCamera2.apk and CMGallery.apk for ever on your rom.
atm all is working fine o need to do something (yes panodama works)

You'll need a backup of the original files to restore
(Can I also take a gallery apk from a cm12.1 build and move it to system/app?)

Both camera and gallery get replaced. I didn't find that option in cm's cam, better look again.
Fot backup just open the zip and look in the update script.

When you open the camera, look at the left of the Camera button. That is panorama mode.

I was talking about saving to sd in cm camera. Not panorama but i found it now.

Yeah not sure why they can't include the night mode. Pretty much standard in every phone now and I have got used to it so much that at night this screen hurts my eye [emoji23]
There are apps like twilight which do the blue light filter but would like it built into the system like other phones.

Twilight also has bonus of built in to stop that annoying "Apps running in Background" perma-notification.

My eyes where hurting to, but now I found this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-xz1/how-to/enable-night-light-mode-xz1-xperias-t3845701 to enable this feature without rooting the device! :good:
If your XZ1 is rooted you can install pix3lfy with magisk, it ports the night light function from pixel. It works for me.

Adaptive light is your phone's backlight adapts according to your surroundings.

Stock fw. But I think it's gonna work on lineage also(because it's close to AOSP). Not sure about existenz.
If your rooted unzip, go to oem-overlays ,drop the APK I'm there and reboot for the night light.
