gingerbread init.rc - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i had an old gingerbread phone which don't
have inbuilt storage and fully dependable on
sdcard even for camera. so i tried to mount
some memory of system partition as internal
memory by changing in init.rc but somebit i
succeeded. the phone created a folder sdcard1
in system partition. but didn't show up in file
manager. even around 50 mb will sufficient for
me and around 140 mb of system partition is
free after deodex my rom and cleaning some
files. i dont think so model and manufacturer is necessary as its micromax a35 bolt and even i have spice mi 353 same
problem. same specification. and also i am
using modified spice mi 353 rom on a35 bolt. which don't have section of discussion on xda

[Q] Micromax A116 External storage to internal-problem

K, when i was using android 4.1.1 on my Micromax a116, i successfully rooted my phone using "MTK6589_SP_Flash_Tool_v3.1304.0.119" with the provided "MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc.txt" and "recovery.img" (Clockworkmod) and installed the "Superuser-3.1.3-arm-signed.zip" and "su-bin-3.1.1-arm-signed.zip" with the clockworkmod. I was also able to swap the storage in my phone successfully (i.e., internal storage become external storage and vise versa). for that i edited the "vold.fstab" file in system/etc using "ES file manager" (older version with root settings) with root access and changed sdcard0 to sdcard1 and vise versa. At that time even in my Settings ---> storage, the available internal storage was that of my 8gb microSD. So i was able to install all my apps and games into my MicroSD.
Now the problem is after i updated my phone to 4.2.1, i successfully rooted it with the same "MTK6589_SP_Flash_Tool_v3.1304.0.119" with the provided "MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc.txt" and "recovery.img" (Clockworkmod) (for 4.2.1) and installed "UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.25.zip" because Superuser-3.1.3 is supported only for android 2.3 - 4.1. Now just like before i edited the "vold.fstab" and changed sdcard0 to sdcard1 and vise versa. But now even after my internal storage has changed to my 8gb MicroSD, all apps install only in my phone memory regardless of me changing the "Default write disk" options. I've tried absolutely everything but no luck. Please help me out here.
I'm attaching screenshots of my current storage menu page, this is after i have edited the vold.fstab file. and also i will attach my vold.fstab file for reviewing if ianything is wrong

[Q] Vivo Y22 Storage Too Small (and other questions)

Dear developers,
Recently I got a new phone Vivo Y22 with Funtouch OS v1.0 (Christmas present). Its was okay at first then it start telling me that storage has not enough space (with only factory apps and Clean Master). I realize the it had about 4GB internal storage but divided to 2 parts. 2.5GB for system space and 1.06GB as internal storage. In system space, i have only 150mb left I always need to use Clean Master to wipe cache before I download anything. I tried Link2SD, I formatted my SD card and set 4GB partition as EXT2 but did not detect. Same goes for EXT3 and EXT4. It only works for FAT32 but some files cannot be linked using this format. Read some threads in web, they mentioned some phone does not support EXT2,3,4 format. Maybe this is my case? I tried to look for informations about Vivo Y22 but very less and worst, some of them is in chinese.
So the 1st question is: How can I increase the system space? Could I adjust the system space to occupy my more of my Internal Memory?
Second question is, how do I update my phone from JellyBean to KitKat? Do I follow tutorials that uses the same Chipset (Y22 uses MediaTek MT6582)? How if I want to install custom ROMs like CM11 (can't find Vivo Y22 in Device section in CM site so i presume it is not supported?)? There is very less information about rooting and flashing when it comes to this phone. I only manage to root the phone using tutorials given for some other chinese phone.
Thanks in advance..

Did you ever manage to fix this? I'd love to root my Y22 and put vanilla Android on there but can't find how to do it. The memory problem is useless on this phone.

I can help you with memory and you doesn't need to be rooted or to have custom rom.......but you will loose any guarantee.... because you wil make modification in system memory..... you have to download sp flash tool ... and drivers for cdc serial and after you downloaded all this files you must install inf file aand you will also need stock firmware for allview A4 you but you don't need to flash all files which are included in folder only mbr and ebr files which must be edited with this program:ROM Ebr changer..be sure to take v2.0:.......or I will edit them for you.....After you did that and flashed this 2 files on the phone you must do a factory reset because the system must set the new partitions size........My email is [email protected] send me pm if you don't understand something and I will tell you about custom roms on this phone.......

[Q] XOLO Q1010 Internal Memory issue

Hi friends..
I have Xolo Q1010 phone for which the company has given total 4GB Inbuilt Storage in which Phone storage we got is 1.75 GB and Internal Storage is 0.98GB. Can anybody help me to reverse the storage capacity. Atleast 2 GB should have been provided as Internal storage for installing more apps.
Kindly help.. Thanks in advance..
Can anybody help on this...??
you can increase your app storage upto upto 2.5 gb
you can easily increase your app storage to 2.5 gb via HK ROM EDITOR ...but for this you have to first install carliv 3.0 touch recovery in your q1010 by HUBOinc. just visit our site to download andf know flashing method after flashing just take nvram backup via carliv then edit your rom size to 2.5 gb via hk rom editor app ( you will find download link of this app on google easily) but after this you you will get imei error but you can fix it just reboot to carliv recovery and restore your nvram done. enjoy your new app storage.

[HELP][Q] Brandless China phone /system Corrupted.Only Can Boot to recovery

Hi
I have a china phone has no brand it's Model is ISTAR V3 W
It has internal memory of 1GB and SDcard(not ext SD) memory of 4GB
i think(The rest of the specs i dun really know).
So the internal storage was like only 1GB so i searched google and found the HKromEditor Tool so i used it increased it to 2.5GB for MT6582 and after that i had more memory but with 2 storage with the second storage with 3.8GB
So after that ported Blisspop because i didn't like the stock of it.
I ported it from
http://www.mtkroms.com/2015/08/blisspop-lollipop-for-mt6582.htmll
I did do a TWRP backup of the Original and the Ported
So It worked . but it only detect 1 storage on which was the 2.5gb storage.
so i went google and searched on how to repartition the 2 storages to 1 and i found "meteos-mtk6589-rom-edit..." which was a recreation from the tool i used before and i tried it by using the 3rd option and now my phone is with /system partition of 486MB and i think the rest of it went to /data and have no firmware to fix it.
anyone please help me to partition it back to normal
