Hey all..i wanted to ask whether i could convert my i9305 to i9300 coz latter has tremendous dev work (esp. S5 sensation which is available for i9300 but not for i9305)
I converted my bro's Xperia SL to Xperia S coz of same reason and now he enjoys every Xperia S luxury on his SL.
The problem:
As in case of bro's Xperia, i used trickster mod to over clock 1.5 dual core (xperia s default) to 1.7 dual core (xperia sl default) coz obviously his phone has sl hardware.
But in case of i9305->i9300 there's no app in market (which i know of) to increase the ram from 1gb (i9300 default) to 2gb (i9305 default) as hardware in i9305 is for 2gb ram.
The question:
1) Can i successfully convert it without bricking?
2) if yes, then can i increase the ram on i9300 firmware from 1 to 2gb?
3) is it a simple flashing of firmware of i9300 on my i9305 (as was in xperia case) or anything else is to be done?
4) which software can i use to do it?

How did it work on my bro's xperia then? and why isn't there any dev work on i9305, although its better than i9300..?
Xperia was same basic hardware, Samsung use totally different hardware in each model. i9305 has a tiny user base in comparison to i9300, which is why I bought the i9300 instead.

Hi guys, sorry for my bad english..but i have a request.
It is possible porting the firmware of i9301i ( sammobile.com/firmwares/3/?download=29070) to i9300?
I search on the web , the specifcs of s3 neo + i9301i. The hw is equal to i9300 cpu 1.4 , gpu mali 400 there is only one difference the ram is 1.5 gb.
I'm not a developer but I think porting is possible and that this is not too difficult as hw is the same only ram differt.

Different processors, so not interchangeable roms. Neo has more RAM than i9300 also.

I just went to SamMobile and saw that I9305 got 4.4.4 firmware ! See here
They said I9300 doesn't have enough RAM, what about Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 and Tab 3 10.1 Wi-Fi which received the update ?
If the CPU isn't enough, How came that I9305 and N7100 with the same CPU got updated ?
If the screen size isn't enough, WHY did I9305 with same screen size get update ?

I saw that Samsung don't want to update i9300 to 4.4 because of its 1 GB of RAM that can't handle ****ty touchwiz.Also they said that they will not update any device that is 18(or something like this) months old, Samsung is a shame, we have great developers here, like @arter97 @JustArchi, @qaraqumus that made what Samsung didn't:bring S3 a bit from KitKat flavor

Devices with only 1GB won't get KitKat ? Wth ?
Tab 3 7.0 and Tab 3 10.1 are running KitKat !
Devices with 18 Months old won't be updated, seriously ?
I think it's time to get a Nexus Device and leave that shameful Samsung with its odd rules :silly:

Absolutely not, besides the name, these two devices are totally different, the first runs with a Qualcomm CPU and the second one with a Samsung Exynos
