Hello, everyone.
I've seen Samsung's S5 battery saver features a few days ago and became quite interested on it, specially when it comes to the "grayscale function".
Unfortunately, a S5 is quite expensive here (Brazil), so i won't be able to buy it soon.
Do you guys know any Custom Rom that is able to mimic that "grayscale" function? That sounds really useful for battery saving!
Thanks in advance.
Ash.

Hello, I have limited Knowledge and am New to ROM/Android.
I have a S3 i9300, and I have Rooted it.
Now I find the phone very laggy and slow ( I had a Moto g and it felt MUCH FASTER) So after some research I think this is because of touchwiz.
So now I am thinking of putting a ROM.
I looked in the ROM Section/Youtube/ and on Here and am LOST on what to do next.
I don't understand which ROM would be best for me?
All I want it is a FAST/STABLE and SMOOTH Phone.
Must be Andriod Kitkat - I want to enable ART.
I don't want crazy features like Pie control/ Touch wiz Ports ETC.
So what do you recommend?
I have heard and seen Cyagoemod. It looks like that is what i want but I am unsure? Will there be too many useless feature for me?
Thank You very much

CyanogenMod is just cool if you want the stock Android experience like on moto g, it have not that much fancy features, it has some but very useful. The only thing you will probably miss if you install CyanogenMod will be the camera quality from Samsung ROMs, in rest is very stable and fast, know from my experience

Hi, I just joined XDA today and sorry for my newbie
I'm planning to own Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 sooner from my sister who already own Xiaomi Redmi Note 2, it was first time to using Android and Samsung brand and currently I am WP user and own Nokia Lumia 720 for two years.
I'll own this phone because of problematic of apps in Windows Phone such BBM and Path which no updates since earlier this year. Also I want to make Android more comfortable to use (such less RAM consumption) and actually I didn't really like Android because of performance issues mainly Samsung.
Which is best rooting software, I prefer rooting via PC.
So, I will replacing crappy stock ROM with custom ROM, I prefer lighter usage and customizable. CM12.1 or BlissPop? For Google apps prefer Gapps Minimalistic
And for battery saving and cleaning, which is the best apps? I know DU Apps well
For customization, I want the S6 Theme for Grand2. Which is the best? And I'll use another minimalistic lock screen
And many more that I can't mention, I want to make Android run faster, less bloating, and less battery hog in geek ways (like kernel method etc). Sorry for my bad English and my noobs!

then don't buy a samsung, just buy moto g3 or the yu yuphoria.stock roms are more fast and less buggy than custom roms.
Hello everyone, I am new to this forums but have been operating on phones for a while, I am currently wanting to ROM my Samsung S3 ( I9300 ) to a nice interface and a nice stable ROM. I have narrowed my search down to TWO ROM's that I like and have read up on a lot but I was wondering if I could have some opinions. I am basically struggling to decide on which one to choose. I am mainly wanting the ROM with the best stability but also nice looks if that's possible with either of the ROM's below:
Would you rather install 'Ressurrection Remix' or 'CyanogenMod' and why?
Im using ResurrectionRemix at the moment and its very stable , unless u go to the settings and faceroll enable all the customizations
Hey man, if you don't mind me asking, what do you use your phone for as mine needs to be stable but also optimized
Hi!
Im planning to buy new phone but since the market is so big I have no idea what to choose. I was currently looking to buy the new iphone 7 but due the lack of jailbrakeble software I think I have to continue on android. I have been apple user since beginning until the ip 5 after that I swich to samsung s4 the flagship of that time but it was terrible, I really really hate the touchwiz. After that experience I still gave android another chance and found myself a MIUI device wich was great so I have been miui user for 3 years and I really loved it until they started to price up the phones and not updating the old phones. Now I was thinking the galaxy s7 because of the new feature where you can turn off the app drawer wich is evertything thats wrong with android for my oppinion but still I dont know what to choose. Should I wait for the s8 or take pixcel? I really like if the phone UI is something you can tweak and play with and ofcourse I love the xposed modules and rooting is a must. The budget is not the problem I just need to find a new good phone. Is there anything out there that im missing?
Hope some people have some ideas for me
Thank you!!
Hello there.
I have an old Galaxy S3 laying around for almost 2 years and i would love to give it some use.
Since my mother is not into Android phones yet, i would love to tune my S3 and let her get used to it.
So my question is:
What is the best performance rom? (old android, or new, doesn't matter..phone just needs to fly!)
What is the best stable rom with newest android versions?
And between these 2, which one would you prefer? Performance or new Android?
Best regards.
Thank you!
Funny thing, I also had my SGS3 somewhere on the bottom of the shelf for 2-3 years and forgot about it.
Than my Mom wanted a touchscreen phone so I gave it to her to try but she didn't like it... So I bought a new battery and use it by myself now again, great phone still
As for your question - SmartDroid Simple v9.9 (Samsung Touchwiz 4.3 cleaned-up and optimized) - best battery and blazing fast, my favourite, or...
One of older SlimKat's builds (Jellybean or even KitKat), also fast but little bit worse battery.
I also was trying some newer Nougat Roms (CM's, Lineages), but they don't run as good for me as older Androids on SGS3.
For your mom it definitely gonna be SmartDroid Simple 9.9.

Thank you so much! Looks pretty fast, although it looks terrible (i mean, i haven't seen Android 4 for a long time xD).
But it seems perfect for what i expect it to be!
