Hello all, im running my m8 completely stock but ive been having problems receiving mms,
either i get a message saying "one or more of the message components have been deleted by mms adaption, either hte message was too large or the components were unsuitable for your handset"
or
it just shows a timestamp but no picture (if i click on it and save it, i can view it through gallery)
any idea whats up or what i can do to fix it? i use to get the same mms adaption error messsage on my htc one x but thought it was just the phone, now im thinking its att or an htc problem
figured id try here before calling att, although maybe they could help
Strange. Stock AT&T branded handset? And stock Messaging app?
Maybe try going to Settings in the Messaging app, and reduce message size.
Yup stock att branded m8, and stock messaging app

Hello, I have an odd issue, I have a friend who is on sprint, and every time i send them an SMS and they reply, it comes back as an email, thier [email protected], any ideas why?
im using Handcent, btw
I havent seen that since i used it to send mms on iphone 3g before it was oringally supported. o guess that either handcent or your phone is interperting the message in it's form used by that carries i would try and re install handcent and reboot your phone.
they show up wrong in the stock messaging app too.. i've rebooted my phone a few times but no help.. will try removing and reinstalling handcent
*edit*
No help.. even after removing and reinstalling
I've got the I9300 international version running on Tmobile Edge, anytime someone sends me a picture (wether tmobile or verizon customer) i get it as a slideshow. They get it just fine from me though.
Is there any way without downloading a new app to turn this retardedly dumb feature off? Could someone hack/edit the default text messaging app to just not use the slideshow feature at all? no one in the history of EVER has sent me more than 1 picture per a text message... i will NEVER want slideshow ever.
I have an unlocked Galaxy S2 running stock Gingerbread (2.3.4), unrooted. A problem has arisen whereby I can no longer send SMS's to one of my contacts (it has never been a problem before). I've tried deleting all previous message threads with that contact, but it didn't help. I then tried deleting the contact and sending an SMS to her number. The message was sent, but when I got a reply I was unable to reply to it. The reply also picked up the other person's name from somewhere, even though I'd deleted the contact from both the phone and my Gmail account.
I've tried both Handcent and the stock messaging app, and neither is able to send an SMS to this person. Other contacts are fine.
Can anyone suggest a fix?

it could be a problem in your network.. i had experienced that before, i tried flashing different firmwares and etc but it still didn't fix the problem.. so might as well call you network provider.
or you could also try to reset to factory settings/wipe data or better yet flash a new firmware
Hi
I too haven't had this problem but a similar one where I can't access contacts on sum card. I think if you have had your phone rooted.and installed ics or another rom it formats it slightly different i think because when I installed the aroma rom I had on when I saved the contacts I could see them but when I switched roms they disappeared. Not sure this answers all your question but might explain why her name popped up after you deleted it. Try installing a simcard viewer I tried this as my next solution and was able to see prior contacts there is one somewhere with no permissions I think.
Hope I helped
The same problem has occured on my Galaxy SII: After the SMS-thread from one contact got deleted I can't send SMS to her, I get status "failed" and under message details it says "Error code 1", I receicve messages from her but can't answer them, however an MMS with a picture got sent yesterday.
Has anyone with similar problems found an answer?
I eventually flashed new firmware: Stock ICS via Kies (4.0.4). Still can't send an SMS to the contact though. Has anyone else resolved this yet?
My wife has had a Note 3 for a month or so now. She's on stock unrooted 4.3. When she uses the default messaging app and writes an SMS message longer than 160 characters (I haven't counted, but presume this is an SMS 160 character limit issue), only the first 160 characters send, and the rest of the message never gets to the recipient. The app gives no indication that anything unusual has happened. We only figured this out by sending messages back-and-forth and comparing the results. I use a Galaxy S4, rooted stock 4.2.2, and the default messaging app doesn't have the same problem. Using Handcent fixes the issue on her phone, but she prefers to use the stock messaging app. I've searched here, the Sprint Community, and on Google and don't see anyone else having this same issue. Any ideas?
Auto combination checked?
Thanks for taking the time to reply...turns out the issue is with my S4, not the Note (I haven't figured out what it is yet)...please feel free to delete this thread.
Chops it up on both Verizon and Sprint s4's I have also.
In case anyone comes across this later with a similar problem, unchecking that auto combination box in the messaging app on my S4 fixed the problem...I have Handcent set as the default SMS app, but I guess that check box still affects the handling of large SMS.
Hi
Might be missing the obvious here but this is my first Sony Android device. Sometimes my Z2 might have trouble sending an SMS text message and I get the message "could not send" with a red emoticon. With my previous HTC devices, I was able to click on the message and select 're-send' however that option isn't available to me on the Z2. Right now, all I can do is re-type the same message but surly there is an alternative?
Thanks[/I]
Hi
Turns out it was a fault with my phone. I returned the phone to EE and the new phone works fine. To anyone else experiencing this issue, you should have the option to re-send after long clicking on the message.
Would have really appreciated someone helping me out with that.
I had sent like 700 msgs in groups. Very few actually went out and now i have deleted all msgs but cannot get rid of the msgs failedpopping all over my screan.and i can't seem to delete them in any other way. How do i get rid of the not sent and why were they not being sent?
