[Q] IGO Primo full screen keyboard - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I am trying to get a full screen keyboard in IGO Primo just like the one which is in IGO 8 as it makes it lot easier to input the search criteria, but with no avail.
I have tried to look into the Data.zip but the files get corrupted when extracted so no joy either.
Can anybody help me? I find it really annoying mistyping all the time.
Thanks

TomTom 5.2 runs on the S740

Hi all
The TomTom 5.2 runs on my HTC S740 but i can not enable the GPS
Receiver,
only Bluetooth Receiver are selectable...not the build in GPS Receiver.
any solution?
regards schiefersoft
You might need to try the Microsoft GPS Intermediary Driver configuration.
Have a look at Paul's post on Modaco.
See: http://www.modaco.com/content/smart...-utility-for-configuring-gpsid-on-smartphone/
I'm not 100% sure it'll help as I don't have this phone nor have I tried it. But from what I know, this is an important link
thank you for your reply but this tool doesnt work on the S740

Are you sure it doesn't work on the S740? So you installed it and tried it?
Try posting on the Modaco thread I posted if you don't get much response here. I think it should work on the S740.
In short, without this utility installed and working there's no other way for TomTom to know about the internal GPS. This utility is supposed to help TomTom connect to the internal GPS.
Someone gave it a try, see post, and it didn't work.
Any news on making TT5.2 detect the internal GPS?
TomTom working
Hi , I got tt5.2 to work with the internal gps , I put the settings on other bluetooth receiver , and com4 .
Work perfectly
Only problem is the key mapping , no delete button
Hi, can you describe this more in detail please?
thanks
I only got the phone yesterday , So it is still standard .I run the quickgps app , then installed TT , and used My Mobiler to set the TomTom settings as you need a touoch screen to change the settings .
Please let me know what Info I can provide that will help you
Regards
Werner, you probably aren't using TT 5.2, cuz for that one you don't need a touch screen (the Rose hasn't).
But Schiefersoft, you can use the newer TTN versions (6 or even 7) also on your Rose, in addition you need an application that puts a cursor on your non touchscreen that you can use to point. Google FakeCursor here or on the net and give it a try.
Big advantage is you can use the newer version 6 or 7 maps.
On my very old non touchscreen HTC StarTrek (aka Smartflip) i used TTN7 with FakeCursor.
Use the Garmin XT 5.0 Instead !!
Works for the Windows Smartphone and PPC !!
Works Like a Charm on the HTC Rose...
Other GPS Software is Route 66 version 8 or the IGO Version 8.
This should also work fine on the Htc Rose.

Issue with S740 and IGO 8.3.2

Hi,
just got a new S740/Rose and installed Igo 8.3.2. Acutally, the software just works, only problem being that I can't use my joystick to navigate (buttons seem to be disabled) and since the S740 doesn't have a touchscreen, I'm stuck there. I suppose one can modify the keybind.txt file located within the data.zip (IGO8/DATA.ZIP - config/keybind.txt) file in the IGO8 folder.
Anyone has a working one ?
Or is it sys.txt that has to be modified ?
Thanks beforehand.
Cheers,
Al
Use Garmin XT version 5 instead !!
Works like a charm on the Rose !
There is a special Smartphone edition !!
So you can use the Joystick on the Phone..

Peter
Hi Peter,
thanks a lot, will try it out. Though what I liked about Igo is that we have all the maps of almost any places needed (which I don't know wheter it's the case for Garmin XT but will try it).
Cheers,
Al
really hope so expert can keybind it to the s740,
still prefer the igo program over garmin,
I use Sygic McGuider, also works very well on the S740.
- Fast and good navigation
- nice interface (intuitive)
The few user and expert reviews I've read, are also positive

I've downloaded Garmin Mobile XT 5.00.20w, the position is tracked OK I think, but I always get no more than 1 "signal bar" (gps reception). Also, GPS info shows at most 2 satellites locked and the sky chart only shows a sun icon and a moon icon.
Why?
hello.. i have to same problem.. i try meny versions of IGO.. please post here if somone make it work.. Garmin XP and Sygic McGuider work Fine.. and only that 2 one but igo have maps with nice look 3D
sorry form me eng.
AVE...
Has anyone informations about key binding in Rose? I would make proper configuration files if I knew how are the buttons mapped.
Guys, why don't you use fake cursors? They are kind of a pain in the arse, but if you want to stick to IGO, I think this is the best solution. Just google fake cursor.

As he said the Motonav its the replacement for higher resolution phones with nice interface. Some people found it a bit laggy but i am very satisfied with it .
I totally recommend it.
Cheers
Vatis
ey, ive tried igo and motonav on my x10 but its a pain to setup and even then it runs laggy almost same as on windows mobile, on android the best gps app ive found to be Copilot Live, its beautiful looking easy to use and fully functional with a quick gps satellite pickup. i recommend looking into it, pm me if you want the apk but the maps you gotta download yourself over wifi, bear in mind i live in australia and the maps file was 100mb and took me better half of 30min to download even with fast connection i guess phone limitations and server

HI!,
I can not help you at the moment , I'm new and I have no experience, so if I have a problem similar to yours.
I bought a similar device with Android 2.3 and has a few problems, some serious and others not so much. :silly:
What I have wanted is to change the Android OS by WinCW 6.0, I think this is the most reliable time the Android, in addition to better display screens in Android is very poor in this regard, but I do not know if this is possible .
It is an extensive list of problems, but the more I dislike (also the GPS IGO, the bottom image is cropped) is that the unit can operate the DVR front camera, but running it is very erratic and unstable.
The seller tried to start to solve but then I did not respond more and presented other problems and I had no more response.
Greetings.

[Q] Hardware keyboard apps for mini pro

Hi,
I'm looking for apps that support the hardware keyboard.
This is the situation, I have an unresponsive touchscreen for over six months now, I've tried a lot of different methods to bring it back but without any luck. After all this time I've given up on having a touchscreen. So now I'm looking for apps that can give me at least some functionality with only the hardware keyboard, the one app that is going to win the gold medal will be the one that let me answer incoming calls, right now I have to plug in the headset to answer, but I would like to answer directly on the phone so if someone knows about such an app it will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
