Viperez 1.03 DL - HTC Rezound

Hello all, Haven't been on in a while haven't had to since viper rez was released. i loved the rom and it was all i needed. I don't think that there is that many people who still own/use their rezound. recently i had issues and wanted to re flash the rom only to find there are no links any where. I even checked the team that made viperez website i found a thread asking about it and they said they don't even have copy's of the rom any longer. i thought about all my options and knew i am anal about backing up everything and had to have had a copy somewhere finally on a old unused dropbox i forgot about i found it. Just wanted to post it for any one still stuck on this phone.
Did not know where to post plz feel free to move thread wherever, just wanted to help anyone in the community that still wanted to use this fantastic rom

Thanks for the link... but since you are still using this phone perhaps you should jump over to the development areas, this device has been under development all along and still is, there are many JellyBean and KitKat ROMs available for the Rezound, perhaps you would enjoy one of them...

[Q] Rooting, Flashing, Custom ROM questions from a noob!

Hi everyone,
I am new to the android world having just bought a galaxy s2, so please be gentle. I'm a previous iphone owner and always hated the restrictions apple put on their phones and dictated the way I could use my handset! I've since moved over to android and my first impressions are OMFG, how confusing is all of this!! I'm not techphobic by any means but I am struggling to piece together how the world of android works and I have spent a lot of time reading various things about ROMs, rooting, flashing, kernels etc... but I am getting more and more confused!
I recently bought a Galaxy S2 which is running a custom ICS ROM on it (resurrection remix 1.0) and also has CWM on it. Having looked at the forums i can see that another version in out (1.3 i believe) but i'm very hesitant to try a flash as i dont want to screw my phone.
The way I see it i've got two choices, either try and reset the phone to stock so that warranty etc... remains uneffected and then update to ics through kies when its available or try and install a later version of one the ics ROM's that are availabe. I was wondering to that end if you lovely people coudl give me some guidance.
If I were to reset my phone to stock how do i do this bearing in mind i am confused about
a) what kernels are in the first place and
b) which one i woudl need for my phone and will I need a usb jig for this?
c) -i need to unroot my phone to return it to stock and if so how do i do this
also:
-what is the difference between an insecure and secure kernal
-if i flash my phone to a newer version of ics can i revert back to 1.0 as at the mo apart from the odd app crashing here and there I'm not having any probs with it.
I'm reading about GAPPS and APKs and dont know what the hell these are either but they keep popping up every so often.....basically i'm confused and on the verge of a breakdown!!
Please could somebody help mw with this and massive apologies if i've posted where i shoudnt have.
Thanks in advance
Saf
If you had taken the same time took for typing here to search and read you would have learnt almost everything...
go through these stiky threads
also see my links in singnature.......read as much as possible....no other substitute for reading and learning, nobody will answer you in essays like you typed
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1544657
Appreciate what you're saying mate and thank you for taking the time to reply. I have been reading various threads over the last day or so but the problem is when something like this which is quite techinical is completely new territory you dont know where to start. Google throws up page after page of stuff that doesnt make much sense and i've searched on the forums here and read up on quite a bit but again am not sure if i've grasped it.
problem is I didnt install the custom ROM on the phone, i bought it like this and to do anything further with it i dont know if i need to go back to the original owner with more questions or can i just go ahead and start tinkering with it without knowing what software was originally on the phone? (bearing in mind that various posts state that you need certain software which is as close to the original one as possible)
Thanks anyway
Saf
this is the stage which passed by all the noobs including me, dont worry
Your strating treble will only be over when you start flashing a ROM,
cool.
ima go ahead and try and install version 1.3 of resurrestion remix! Wish me luck hehe!!
Good luck,
dont forget to follow the steps mentioned the ROM thread atleast...

[Q] Wondering If I Should Root My SGS3

Hi,
Ive had my Galaxy S3 for about 4 months now, and being in Australia waiting for the Jelly Bean update is driving me crazy, So i wanted to know how hard it would be to root my S3, I would have done it as soon as i got the phone however, My first galaxy stopped working after putting a new rom on the phone and my galaxy s2's screen turned blue and then died, although this could have been because i dropped it the day before, not sure both of these have kind of put me off rooting, however ive had a xoom and optimus 3d that are still fine on custom roms.
Also, If i wanted to return to stock, and unroot the phone, would that restore my warranty?
I have the International Galaxy S3, I think With Optus in Australia,
I would have searched how to root by myself, but i really dont want to brick the phone.
So if someone could link me to a stable rom and some instructions on how to root it would be fantastic
Thanks for reading
4 months..... I couldn't even wait for a day after received my S3
Even with custom ICS ROM you ll see huge difference
Hehhe I don't really care about warranty anymore after I chose to root
As long I enjoy the phone... But there's a way to do that...
I can't help you to find the link for rooting and apply CWM since I haven't been to any threads
If I were you, go search root by CF....
Good luck

Hi, Thanks for the reply,
I am going to follow this guide, Its from another website so my apologies if i am not allowed to post links to external sites, Although i found the link on an XDA thread so i figured it would be okay
http://www.androidrootz.com/2012/09/how-to-root-any-samsung-galaxy-s3.html
And im just looking at ROM's now, Just out of curiosity which ROM are you using androbot?
Thanks
I would always root my phone Just because you can use AD Block
Haha yeah i will look forward to that , Just Root'd phone then Tested with Titanium backup and works fine Just wondering if any of you could recommend a good ROM, or the ROM your currently using that your really happy with? Thanks
I'm using crDroid 6.3 at the moment...
I like ROM doesn't get stripped but still performs fast and fluid too...
Each user has their own taste....
The ROM is around 9xx mb...
It's got AROMA installer too....
After you root and install CWM, crDroid ROM requires touch recovery to avoid any problem...so you need to flash touch recovery recommended ...

I gave stock a try for a while.... Lasted 3 days. Samsung managed to create something that can't run on a quad core phone.... That's almost something to be proud of, I shouldn't experience lag and homescreen redraws on a $500+ phone. Installing a custom rom is a must for me, I don't understand why OEM version of Android are so horrible but they are. Rooting only will give you a few benefits and extra things you can tweak as well as ad blocking and making the GPS faster. But if you really want a change, custom roms are the way to go.
Hey guys new to android based phones, ive had the s3 for a few months and have read the forum for a while, i want to flash a custom rom and read about imei backup which i just did but i want to know is it common for the imei to delete when flashing?
I lasted about 3 weeks on stock.. now dual booting CM10 & UltraROM. You won't regret it :good:
Should I root??
Sorry for posting here but it's the closest I have found to what my question is. I have an AT&T S3. I would like to root to get rid of my bloatware but I'm a chicken. I rooted my HTC Inspire over a year ago and I didn't really know how to remove to AT&T apps and the stock rom was not as snappy as it was prior to rooting. I planned on staying on ICS until an official JB OTA was available, as I've never flashed custom roms before. What I'm most concerned about I guess is whether rooting will mess up my 4gLTE and wifi. I rely heavily on wifi since sadly, AT&T is lame, expensive, and doesn't offer unlimited data. So I want to make sure I don't screw up wifi if I do this. Can anyone provide insight or point me to a good resource that can help?? Thanks a bunch in advance and sorry for the noob questions.

Using Odin to flash CF-Root is super-easy, so don't be afraid. Rooting will not affect your phone's smoothness, but if you use it to remove apps with Titanium Backup without making sure they are not useless, you may end up having performance issues or worse. Of course, I'm not saying you shouldn't root, just that after rooting, take care with what you remove via TB.
CF-Root can be found in the Original Android Development forum, follow the instructions and you'll be ok.
All three mobile networks are releasing them this month, November! Telstra, Voda then Optus.
Hopefully it's XXDLJ4 or above or XXDLJ6 etc

looking for evo 3d roms.

Forgive my noobness. but seems im having trouble finding a central location to locate roms.
i have already rooted my evo 3d. however it was some time ago and does not allow for updates. I'v gotten my data in order and would like to flash with a new rom to get all the updates and new os version that iv been missing out on. to my recollection i can DL the rom to my card, then boot to load that rom, but i was hoping someone can point me in the direction on the forum where i can start looking at new roms. and maybe even a rom that will allow me to update if its possible. thinking of going without sense.
thanks for the advice.
All the roms are in the Development sub-forum.

Help Going to Custom Rom

I have posted it on another thread but no luck so I will post a new thread. I have tf201. Its an awesome device (aside from the week wifi signal) and I have been happily draining its battery for the last 2.5 years. However the time has come to move to a custom rom. Asus abandoned the device for no reason and things are starting to slow down and its just sad. So I am thinking of taking the big step for rooting and going to a custom Rom in order to restore the glory of this awesome device. I searched and I have concluded that perhaps the best solution is the SlimKat rom but here things get tricky. Most of the guides I have seen mention that though its a TF300 rom it is compatible with TF201 but the process only mentions guidelines for TF300 users.
So I need help and I am sure there are a couple of people out there in the same need. I am on a stock version of 4.1.1 with a 10.4.2.18 kernel. Can anyone provide a full process for doing the upgrade. And I mean a full process like rooting, installing twrp , upgrading kernel and etc. I know most people post links saying go there and you will find what u need but when a thread is 100 pages its like searching a needle in a haystack and I really don't want to brick my device doing something, someone suggested and 10 pages later it was discovered that he was wrong and I missed it.
I know its a lot of asking but for someone who is fairly knowledgeable with android with the device I am sure that devoting a little time for people who just started experimenting with android development will do a lot of good for setting some good foundation for them to go on and one day give back to the community.
Thank you in advance.

I am in the exact same position as you.
Lets hope someone can help!!!
Hello,
I was in the same position as you. And I decided to unlock and install a new rom. I did that on July. In concrete in have installed the CROMBi-kk ROM the link in the developers section is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2773812
To unlock is very easy. Just download the Asus app and install it in Android and follow the steps.
I Followed this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2041627
In this link I did the unlock and the installation of Adroid SDK (this driver for the PC for recognizing the device when you start in bootloader mode).
After installing the driver I follow the post #4 in the CROMBi-kk thread to flash and install the new rom.
Sorry for my English. I don’t know I have explained it ok.

Hello, New member, long time modder

Hello everyone, I just joined after installing 6.0 on my Asus tf201. I have flashed ROMs from hairybean up to 6.0 and back as well as bricked this poor tablet several times. I have also replaced android with various versions of Linux using other sites so I'm no stranger to playing with nvflash and fastboot. I can also do some how-tos if anyone wants, anyways I made this thread cause I have a weird issue, I downloaded Super SU twice and both times TWRP 2.8.1.5 (I might have the numbers wrong) just rebooted like it was a soft crash or something. I would post in the thread I got the ROM from but I don't have enough posts yet, would an older version work without issue or do I have to just deal with no root ATM?
The version of Super SU that I'm trying is 2.52 BETA as the post specified that one but doesn't say if an older will work. I look forward to having a great time here, and I welcome any and all feedback.
Thank you for your time.
Tiger
Tiger,
I'd just update the recovery to the latest Area 51 version. It's got a few new features that are pretty slick. From there, grab one of the SU's from one of Taconikki's Rom's. They worked for me every time.
O
I can use a howto which is current if anyone has one for flashing from stock.

If you still need a how-to Ill get started on it, if you do I just need to know if you have done any backups or anything in case you brick the tablet. Mine is currently running android 7.1, I havent checked to see if 8 is available yet (presuming someone ports it of course) and Ill even cover how to go back to stock if you need that info as well.
Thanks! I finally did upgrade it to 7.x and am waiting to see if someone gets an oreo build
Sent from my 2PS64 using Tapatalk
I keep checking every now and then, but my tf201 keeps randomly rebooting, so it hasnt seen much use as of late. I am currently working on porting ubports (formerly ubuntu touch) to my galaxy note 4 though. I might try and get it on my tf201 eventually cause when I tried it on there it was butter smooth and tank reliable. I switched it back to android cause there were no apps at the time and the build has been abandoned since then, so who knows.
