How to hide some apps - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hey, guys. I am using a Xiaomi phone with MIUI5. I think it is awesome. But it cannot hide apps. Do you have any good idea?

Hiding apps is a function of the launcher. I don't use MIUI but if as you say the launcher can't hide apps then short of using a third party app drawer it can't be done.

You can get next launcher 3d from the Google play store the free or paid version are there and they provide the option to hide apps

For MIUI, you'll want this:

and use the Mi-Tools module to be able to edit quite a few things including hiding apps.

A new app switcher/recents app

Anyone know of a new recents apps. I don't really like the Nook HD's stock recents app. I tried looking for a ICS type recents app but i couldn't find one.

Use recentplus for the nook color. It works on the HD/HD+. You can can tie it to the home button with some launchers like ADW. There is nothing available to replace the stock recent button.

I use a donate (paid) add-on to SwipePad for lightning fast multi-tasking with recent apps. You can try out SwipePad with your most frequently used apps free of charge. If you like it, go for the recent apps add-on. If you don't like that idea and your Nook is running the android version that is needed for Nova launcher try that. It has an icon for recent apps. A funny thing is that you can place this recent apps icon on the launcher of your choice if you have still have Nova launcher installed.

I used pie control with Recent Plus.

Hide apps from recent apps?

So I'm using the Ubuntu Lockscreeen right now (it's awesome haha), but it shows Nova Launcher in my recent apps, and I accidently swipe it away all the time. Is it possible to hide an app (in this case, Nova Launcher) from the recent apps drawer?
hmmm...
Well you can download hide it pro, but that would hide the whole access to the app (since nova being a launcher I don't know how is it going to act) still can give it a try

How to hide apps from app drawer.

Hi guys, I am looking for a way to hide app icons from the app drawer without rooting my phone as well as I do not want to use any launchers. I also do not want want the hidden apps to be force stopped from running in background. For example, I want to hide auto call recorder from my app drawer while it is running in background recording my calls secretly. Thanks.
i think you can't do it without rooting unless you use custom launcher
Use this. Worked on most launchers I tried.

Honor 8 X/EMUI app drawer

hey guys does anyone know if there is a way to make EMUI's app drawer not sort everything alphabetically but instead let me rearrange all the app icons in whatever order i want ??
I think your best bet would be to use a 3rd party launcher, like Nova Launcher, for example.
