I received 4.4.4 update last week, and since my Moto e is rooted, I won't be able to update it the usual way.
I tried to take the downloaded update from /cache and then apply the update through CWM or TWRP but I couldn't in neither...
What am I missing here? Any helps or link for the Moto e 4.4.4 US
U can install the CM 11.0 or search for the Stock 4.4.4 ROM

Hi all experts,
I have been dying to upgrade my Razr to ICS, and trying hard on the various guides in this forum....but no luck
I have used http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1757766 this guid as well, and went through all the pages but could not find any solutions.
Currently (Still) :crying:I am having following specs with my Razr (With Clockwork Mod)
System Version:- 65.1.40.XT910.PSHAsiaRetail.en.03
Android Version:- 2.3.6 (GB)
Build Number:- 6.5.1-167-SPD-IRD-40
Build Date:- 6th Feb
I have also tried by restoring to factory settings and erasing the cache, but had serial 7 error everytime I tried the OTA file from the above link. My phone is rooted, so also tried by temporarily unrooting it through OTA Rootkeeper.
Tried all these premutations and combinations, but no luck:crying:
I would appreciate if some one could guied me on what to do to have my Razr running on ICS. Thanks all

Thanx thepsen I have been through this thread as well in which everybody said to follow the 2nd post by blisslove. I could not get the 2nd point with somthing called eprj-mfastboot.
Is it the fastboot.exe file which is installed after installing Android SDK? If not, can you provide me the link because I have already cursed google for not giving me any link to this file. Also do we need to install the 2 files mentioned in point 1 & 2, through RSD lite?
You can find it here

Since your are on 2.3.6 . You need to download GB fastboot from post #2 . I believe that file is around 800mb. RSD Flash this file to apfast boot mode . Then update ota. You don't need to flash any boot.img or system sign.

Finally, I have ICS now. Thanks to all you experts!!
Thank you all!!:good::victory:
Because of you all experts, I am now able to play with ICS on my Razr.
Now its a time to a bit of Rock n Roll:victory:
To prevent future update errors with status 7, do not and never ever delete or uninstall system apps or bloatware. Just freeze them.

I just received the update as well. It was small. I just clicked check for updates for the first time in a month and was shocked to see my phone found one. Don't know what the changes are yet.
I also got the update and I can't find any update notes anywhere yet. Searched through Verizon and Samsung's websites, nothing is posted yet. I'm guessing it is just a maintenance update.
New build number is JSS15J.I545VRUEMK2
Here's what I found about it.http://www.christianpost.com/news/galaxy-s4-software-update-coming-to-all-carriers-soon-110005/
So, I see it could help with the battery life.
Well I'm rooted and it failed to install so I wonder if the Vroot method will work with the new update or not....
Someone pull it from cache and post it

I'm rooted on MJ7 and the update failed.

I am also rooted and the update failed. Is there a way to get this new update without unrooting my device?
I am rooted MJ7 and this update failed as well. Im sure there will be updates soon. Give it time.
Guys...if your rooted and you accept the OTA you could brick your phone. If your on a custom ROM most dev's remove the files necessary to take the OTA's. Simply be patient and wait for someone to, in the spirit of the holidays LOL :silly: , wrap it in a pretty little zip package then we can flash it via custom recovery.
I cant get the update since im not on MJ7 and no odin tar via kies or vzw update assistant . Someone has to post the update.zip from cache/fota before any analysis/editing can be done.

Those of you that have updated do you know does Foxfi still work?
I'd be happy to post the update if someone will tell me where to find it. I looked in the cache folder but it appears to be empty?

Did you already accept the update? If so then it gets deleted upon installation. But you could still extract the radio for the rest of us I posted directions on how to do it in Q&A

If you try to update your Moto E 5.0.2(Soak update). Try the following steps.
Be aware that, the soak update file(Blur_Version.22.21.32.condor_retaildsds.retaildsdsall.en.03.zip) is signed by Motorola. So if you try to Update using TWRP its a waste.
You have to Unroot your Moto E and replace TWRP with stock recovery. Also you should have to reflash Stock ROM(4.4.2).
If everything is fine, then it should detect the update.
If you need any help, reply to this post.
official update arrived?
guys, ibtimes.UK says that official update for moto e has arrived. anyone knows about this? I am on lollipop soak test now. I am loving the lollipop except few problems. dialer issues and some lag.

If you followed the instructions at https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images what was the error or problem?
I guess you'll never get an OTA because LRX21K was never a general release. The other alternative is the "Nexus Root Toolkit" that has a stock restore/upgrade http://www.wugfresh.com/ . You could have issues with LRX21K not being a supported rom so I think at "NRT" start up you should manually set the rom as LRX22C . You can let the package download the new rom or if you have it downloaded you can point the package to the rom when you restore/upgrade.
Hey guys im relatively new to Xda and to the rooting world. So im a little confused on a few things, How are some people on android 5.0? I still don't have it yet and what does SOAK mean? Has motorola even released a version of Lollipop yet?

Hey buddy! Welcome to XDA. Most of the moto e users have moved on to android 5.0 because motorola has officialy released the software update (seehere). You will recieve the update notification when you update your 'motorola update services' from google playstore. The other option to upgrade to lollipop is to 'root' your phone and then installing a custom ROM like CyanogenMod 12.1 (mind you, this process will void your guarantee). Coming to second part of your question, soak test is a procedure where manufacturers release update to only a few selected people (those who have registered themselves for this test). They then ask for their feedbacks and comments and make additional changes in the update if necessary. Only then the update is released to the masses, which is happening right now for moto e. If you want to install lollipop right now, then you can download the soak test zip file and then install it (you don't need to root or void your guarantee for this procedure).
