I bought the phone and was pretty excited to get to use it, so I tested the functionality of the phone quickly with stock, decided that it was bleugh, and began S-OFFing, unlocking, and flashing. Didn't take long, but it didn't help that my HBOOT was 1.57 stock.
That said, LTE worked with my stock firmware, not with the new ROMs or radio firmware. I've tried many different combinations of m7_ul firmware and roms to no avail. In every APN besides "pta," data works in HSPA+ and 3G at least.
Has me very stumped - I've tried many different APN settings, but I'm welcome to even more in hope that one might work.

Are you using this phone on an AT&T network or other? The AT&T LTE Frequencies are not compatible with other networks and as a result will not work.

Forgot to mention that I am using ATT, on an ATT phone. Plus it should have been apparent when I stated it worked with stock.

After much experimentation, I went back to stock, and I still can't use LTE! I configure the APN perfectly, and try to set the Testing Menu to anything with LTE as an option and it just doesn't connect.

Welp. I finally took it back to square one and called ATT.
Turns out they never updated my phone's IMEI from my TMo phone, which apparently means they had LTE disabled, and when the new phone was connecting to the network for the first time, it accidentally gave it LTE for a moment. That explains everything except the actions of the ATT store employees I specifically asked to do this when they gave me a new SIM. They just cost me two dozen hours of wondering, but hey, at least I know more about my phone now.
If anyone else is hopelessly googling for this issue and finds this thread, call ATT.

[Q] Issue with unlocking bootloader after firmware update.

Hey everyone, I'm having an issue unlocking my bootloader after updating the firmware.
When preparing to install the newest version of Android Revolution HD I thought it'd be a good time to update my firmware before switching to the KitKat based ROM. I used the firmware and instructions from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2182823
All went well until I tried to unlock the bootloader. I can complete all the steps through sending the Unlock_code.bin to the phone, which is successfully sent via fastboot, but I never get the notice on the phone to unlock. Nothing happens.
I believe my best course of action is to flash an RUU but I can't find any that are 4.06.1540.2 or higher at the moment and with S-ON and a locked bootloader, I can't load anything earlier.
If anyone has any insights I'd be most gracious, I'm currently without a phone and have to lug around a Galaxy Tab 3 for mobile connectivity.
Here's my getvar:

More info
I'll also note that I've tried two different computers, three different cables, and I've probably tried at least 20 different Unlock_code.bins.
I'm really at a loss here, I can flash both 4.06.1540.2 and 4.06.1540.3 to the device from Mike's firmware link; the device has no problems communicating via fastboot. It's just not asking me if I want to unlock after a successful code transfer.

constantly rebooting

i just got the att m8 , it has hboot 3.16. i was able to unlock with htc dev, s-off was easy on firewater, but i have not been ablle to successfully flash other roms. the phone will finish successfully but upon rebooting into the new rom, the phone will get to the screen when u chose language then reboot itself every min or so from booting up. i havent tryied to flash any aosp roms yet, i have a feeling that aosp roms would work fine, but i dont want an aosp rom yet. i feel like its a sense thing. i have tryed to change my phone to a developer edition, changed cid to supercid, flash developer nandroid, same problem, i sim unlocked and using tmobile sim card no issues there, but the stock rom my phone came with is the only one that works.

[Q] NEW WITH HTC M8 AT&T - And some expert comment requests...

Hello Dear Forum Members,
First, thank you very much for all of you for this kind of great forum support!!!
I've updated my HTC one m7 to m8, but I am living in Europe and bought an AT&T M8 from USA(much more cheaper :good: ).
1 made it unlocked via htc dev
2 made it S-OFF with Sunshine (Because firewater did not work )
3 updated radio for WWE (it's HSPDA is working much better!)
4 changed CID for My Country.
5 installed TWRP
6 flashed with And. Revolution HD (used to with my old M7 and loved it)
7 removed TAMPERED text succesfully
Help requests :
1 Do I need make any other changes to use this excellent device in Europe?
2 I could not be sure which HBOOT file is suitable for me TO REMOVE RED TEXT? (Device is AT&T but I will use it Worldwide especially in Europe)
3 It is not showing the version of OS? Why it could be?
4 I wanted to be fully updated, do you have any other recommends?
5 I wanted to look over with QPST, but it is not going into debug mode with ##3424#, what can it be?
6 I cannot leard SPC code for CDMA Workshop, How can I?
I am asking these questions, because I could not find or tried unsuccesfull attempts
Thank you very much!

Still no one knows nothing! about my questions?
I don't have any "expert" comments for you, but it seems you've already got everything up and running pretty well. Maybe ask in a forum that is more geared toward WWE models (?).

[Q] BELL Canada

I bought a used HTC ONE M8 originally purchased from BELL Canada and carrier unlocked by BELL Canada. HTC Canada told me that I can only get the OTA from BELL as it was originally purchased from them even though it is unlocked. Unfortunately my SIM card is with Fido and they don't even support the M8! I am wondering if I can change the CID/MID to make it look like I bought it unlocked directly from HTC so that I can get the OTA updates? I am a newbie who just switched from years of iPhone and have only S-OFF and rooted the phone so far (with TWRP recovery). I have had a Nexus 7 for 2 years and never had a problem with updates, I did not realize it would be hard with an HTC One m8...

I found a posting on how to Convert AT&T/Rogers/T-Mobile HTC One to EU International One but it does not have the file for Bell in HTCONE.zip file... I am also wondering if going to a European model would cause problem in North America for radio bands?
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!

You might have a better response in the HTC One (M8) forum. This is for the M7. If the M8 is similar to the M7, then the answer is yes. You would want to make it a Developers Edition it gets the updates straightaway. And according to your getvar all you are still S-ON not S-OFF.

Thanks! I am re-posting it in the proper section, sorry! I did notice the getvar showing S-ON. Don't know why as I had S-OFF as soon as I got the phone with the proper code file, no diea why it reverted. Anyway, thanks again for the reply and I will be posting in the proper section.

[Q] broken voice help

Hi. I am needing some help with broken voice problem. By broken voice I am saying that I can hear other callers but they cannot hear me. I think this started when I upgraded my firmware as suggested to flash a lollipop rom. The firmware upgrade was 7.19.401.22
I thought that if I was able to RUU back to stock this would fix my problem. I had some issues doing so but was finally able to RUU back to the oldest one available. still voice calling issues...
Please see my output below. Any help on this situation would be greatly appreciated.
Also - This phone was originally a t-mo phone and I am now running cricket service. I checked for OTA updates on the phone but it says none are available. Maybe the best solution would be to make a friend with an ATT sim and then OTA? Again thanks much for whatever help is given.
