Cant we have custom roms like Cyanogenmod 11, PA 4.6,or pure AOSP KITKAT etc?
As now we have sources for kitkat kernel can we make it?

Well MIUI is based on Stock rom or CM or AOSP is determined by phone models to which they are made
there are stock based MIUI roms, Aosp Based one's as well as CM based ones for u
and MIUI has variant like cMIUI, rd Miui

They're so skinned you can't tell if they are based on 4.0.4 or 4.1.2 or any other firmware...

I have lg optimus l9 p765 indian version. As there is no any further official update for l9 i like to use custom ROm. can anyone please provide me with Stable kitkat 4.4.2 rom and help out in installing custom roms. will the custom roms of P760 work on P765

I am from india ... I hav same mobile p765
I suggest you to use Nameless Custom ROM i am using it... Its running smoothly + they provide good updates... No other ROMS that are built for p765 only... P760 ROMs do work on p765 but its somewhat different

Android L is not yet fully released. Not for Nexus even.
There is just Developer Preview released which is very unstable.
Real Android L will come out near September/October.
Then you can port it.
1. To port a ROM, there should be a base with SAME Android version. So porting is not possible.
2. You CANNOT use CM11 as base.
CM11 is Kitkat 4.4.x Android L is different version.

We don't have CM10.1 because it will have the same (or more) bugs than the current version of cm11 available for our device. CM needs to be compiled from source. The patches will be more or less similar.

Porting CM11 isn't possible without the Kernel source because Kitkat itself requires binder.c patch in kernel. You can look for clone devices or try porting CM10.2. But don't expect a perfect rom because it isn't built for your device. It will have same bugs (or more) that are in the rom you are porting. I recommend looking for clone devices and see of their source is available.

Thank you.But if you make CM10.1 successfully,we chinese will be very happy,because most of Chinese MT6589 phone don't have CM11 or kernel sources.We can't port CM11 to those phones,but CM10.1 can.
