I want to leave stock and start using Cyanogenmod 11 or test out some of the other AOSP's we have up right now.
My only issue is that I need WiFi calling because I get terrible signal on campus at my college.
Are there any current workarounds for this? Or am I stuck with stock based ROMs as long as I need the feature?

Nope.
If you want t-mobile WiFi calling you need to stick with stock.
The only other option would be to setup Google voice and get a number through that, then you can use hangouts for phone calls in any rom
rumor has it that tmobile will release an app/method to be able to use it on any android phone so that it is no longer rom dependent. wont be till 2015 .. at least thats the rumor when someone asked about wifi calling on the moto x

I know the G2 had this too, and unless I'm mistaken it runs vanilla android. Would it be posible to maybe make their version of the app work?
That's a great question, I don't have the answer but the framework of these roms is more likely to support this version rather than the version we have that works with stock vibrant. I would love being able to use wifi calling again.
Hi, posting here to broaden the net a little. I have carbon ROM that i am fairly sure allowed simultaneous voice and data. I.e when making a call on Bluetooth in the car, data for Google maps stayed active. Now that doesn't work but I am sure this worked since the froyo days. I'm trying to pinpoint the cause.
I have sgs2 and tried three different radios with and without ril, nelp3, nelp4, and nels1, but no change to behaviour . But My wife's sgs3 is on vodafone uk and also drops data connection when making phone calls. (Seen by H/3g logo disappearing and being unable to use data when making calls).
We think it's recent but unsure if it's the ROM or something else.
Would appreciate if someone on another rom on a Samsung phone or two can check for me before I restore a backup to check myself.
Also any ideas how to debug?

I am hoping to find the answer to this is Carbon related (CM10.1 vs 10.2 branches maybe?) and not specific to devices. Could you post this thread on the Dev page for that ROM? That way the Devs for the ROM know about it... and may be able to find the solution. Fingers crossed!
I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 running the Omnirom 4.4.2-20140406-i9100 Nightly.
The issue is that every now and again I can't make calls or recieve calls (I'm basically listed as unavailable for anybody that tries to call me). Even when this happens, signal bar remains full and the phones status page lists the phone as in service and connected to the network. The only way I can fix it is by restarting the phone. Are there any fixes?
- Update the nightly to confirm if your phone has no hardware issues.
- Go back to stock to get the stability in mobile network connection.
Most probably the nightly might have a broken component as these builds are experimental and highly unstable, but no harm in reverting back to stock to ensure your phone's safety.
Thanks, flashed the latest nightly last night. Now I'm waiting to see if it happens again. If it does I might consider flashing a modem that might work better with my carrier. Are there any TWRP flashable modems out there?
Started doing it again this morning, so I changed Network type from 2G/3G Preffered to 3G Only and it started working right away. Still unsure what the cause is though.
Hi! I have a problem with my Moto E2 4g (xt1526) it has Android 6.0â?¦ The problem is, that when i try to turn on The Mobile data, it never turns on. But, when i conect my phone to a WiFi, The H/E/3g or LTE Just appears. I mean. The data Just works if i conect my phone to a WiFi point. Do you have any idea of what is happening? I'm not root, but i have a custom recovery.
I've tried to make a factory resed but it didn't work, it didn't fix The problem. Can you help me?

I have an issue with my LTE dropping sometimes, and I either have to reboot or use the app LTE Discovery to get it to reconnect. I'm rooted, but I think it works without root. It happened enough for the app to be very useful, so I bought it. I don't think the paid version has any better results, but I enjoy having paid software now.
I'm running FireKernel, I think, and LTE Discovery doesn't play very nice with it, it freezes once it loads the first screen. The next version of SlimRom that I flash I won't be flashing a custom kernel over it, so I think that I'll get my functionality back.... soooo, my questions are:
1) Does a reboot work to get you back yer datas?
2) What carrier are you on? Have you flashed the MVNOSlayer_R4.zip atop your ROM and selected your carrier to ensure that your LTE configs are loaded properly?

Hi! Thanks for your reply. First of all, no. It doesn't matter if i do 2…3 or 4 reboots. Data never gets conected. And i'm from Venezuela. I use Movistar VE. I've no flashed that zip. I don't know what's that 'cause it's The first time that it happens to me. I will take a screenshot of my problem.

Here's The problem, sorry for long time. But i hadn't WiFi :c
So when I install a custom rom or gsi, wifi or hotspot doesn't work at all. Both are stuck trying to turn on, but never will. I've tried searching trough internet with no answer, could anyone help? I have the EU version. No one else seems to have this issue with this device. When I flash back OOS wifi and hotspot work fine again. I attached a picture of the logs that I think are the issue but I have no idea how to fix it. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix I'd be grateful!
Same issue with my J7 2017
on stock rom wifi and hotspot work just fine but on crDroid 6.27 wifi just searches all the time and no network shows at all and for hotspot , i can't even turn it on .... kinda frustrating
what app are u using btw?

Sorry for late answer, but I'm sorry to inform you that you have the same thing I had, the problem seems to be on hardware side I got another one of this same phone and on this one I've had 0 issues with wifi on GSI or custom roms.
Don't know why it only happens outside of stock, it is super strange. I spent countless hours trying to fix the wifi, there is barely any info about faults like that online. So frustrating, but atleast I have them working now with this second N10.
