Root & Unroot Galaxy S3 GT-I9300; Safest method? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
Just two weeks ago I bought my Galaxy S3. As the title of my post suggests, I'm planning to root my Galaxy S3 GT-I9300(International Variant) soon. It's running in the latest official update of Android, the JellyBean 4.3. I want to install any other ROM with a pure Android experience, which also gets me to latest, KitKat version. I googled the tutorial for rooting this device and I found these methods,
Method 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GiZ7D2zjJdA
Method 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gYjoW22h7c
>>both of them says works for JellyBean 4.3 also says it won't void warranty.
Coming to the point. I want you suggest method which won't void my warranty and also whenever I want to claim warranty I should be able to,
*unroot
*reset flash counter
*make the device status to 'Official' not 'Normal'.
[Note: I'm will be flashing and trying custom roms]
Can you help me with these? My device version is I9300XXUGNB6

All the FAQ's or all other stuff doesn't answer my problem buddy, if you can't help at least say how to make status to 'Official' not 'Normal' after un-rooting.

For this you use TriangleAway. But it doesn't work always: sometimes you still have counter=1. If you want 100%security, don't root.

Rooting Samsung Galaxy S3

Hi
I am a new android user and want to root my Samsung galaxy S3 i9300.
I have read many post and threads on how to root SGS3 on internet but I am still not clear about the following.
• How can I find the correct ROM file for my SGS3 device? Many websites provides custom ROM and Recovery files for SGS3 but how can I verify that this once is for my device?
•ROM and Recovery files can be correupted, so what can be the most reliable and authentic source for obtaining such files e.g. google play is reliable source for android apps?
• There are many threads regarding the BEST ROM’s on internet and every one is claiming different ROM’s to be the best. I want to have such ROM which is MOST STABLE and MOST CUSTOMIZABLE, suggestions for such ROM is required..
• I have good feedback for resurrection rom for my personal contacts, any opionion about resurrection rom ??
• I have Purchased SGS3 in Pakistan, If any thing goes wrong and results on bricked s3, then how can I unbrick the same? How I can get support from Samsung ?

Best rom threads are not allowed in this forum, try them yourself and work it out.
Suggest you read the basics in general forum, stickies on how to root and backup etc.
If you only read and flash from xda, i9300 forum you are unlikely to brick it -provided you read and understand the basics first.
Backup your efs folder as soon as you root.

If you're still at 4.1.2, lucky you. (Don't upgrade to 4.3 unless you're sure you like all the changes. I personally hate quite a few of them except some layout changes)
Toolkit by mskip is REALLY good. I wish I could still use mine though. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1703488
I'll just quote this from many users. Read carefully and it'll provide you with some basic knowledge of what to expect and what procedures to take before attempting anything
EFS is really important, you should backup it first thing after rooting.

Help with root

Hello everybody,
I'm totaly new with the root thing. I tried already to root my Samsung Galaxy S2 and even though root checker says that my device is rooted I can't unistall some system apps (blootware I think, or something like this ) that I don't need.
Is it possible someone to give me an advice? I will try to root my phone again but I have some questions:
What is the best root method?
Which kernel must I use?
And which custom ROM do you suggest?
My phone:
Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100
PDA: I9100XWLSD
Android: 4.1.2
Thank you in advance
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
1) There is no best root method, they all work. Stickied threads in General and at the top of Q&A have all the info you need, we're not regurgitating this stuff for every n00b who asks when it's already been done thousands of times before since the phone has been released & we have stickied threads specifically for this purpose.
2) Which kernel you use depends on the root method. Read the method as many times as you need to until you understand it, then follow it. Doing before understanding will lead to a broken phone.
3) Rom recommendations are forbidden here, go to the two development sections once you've rooted your phone, read some threads, try some roms (make sure you do a nandroid backup in CWM before you start; What's a nandroid backup ? Search).
