I was wondering if anyone is building any custom rom for our device? We have kk as stock rom but we need cm, omni, asop, etc roms.
If any developer working on it let us know.
Eagerly waiting.

I'm also looking for custom roms for the s4 ( SM-C101 ).
im not a dev in any way (DEV nOOb) but im learning how to build/port roms and mod kernels and im stating with multiple retired devices in case i stumble upon a problem but my main goal is to create a custom rom for my fiancées SM-C101 and who knows maybe one for public release one day (very very distant future).

Any custom roms out there for s4 zoom?.
Ok well I've searched and searched for a custom ROM for this device but cant find anything at all and lets just say my skill as a (n00b)DEV are well......... slow to say the least I'm still reading tons of pages lol.
Has anyone had any luck in finding one or even making one?.
I'm also wondering if maybe i could port a ROM from a s4 mini?, obviously tweaks and changes will be made to make it work I'm not expecting it to run straight away.
nobody has made a custom rom till date and even i can't work on one because my device is in brick state, NO IMEI, NO baseband, so for the time being Im out of the league.
aww that sucks big time, heres hoping you can find a fix for it.
im still reading up and learning but ill keep searching as well maybe somebody will make on someday :fingers-crossed:
btw which model do you have? is it SM C105? if it is can you help me providing a backup file? i will tell you the procedure..
Sorry for late reply, I'm afraid its a sm-c101 that my fiancé has.
Take it you've tried the flashing of stock firmware via Samsung's Kies software ( I've heard it can help sort the issue) very rare cases
If not there's flashing stock firmware via Odin as well but once again slim chance this may help.
I hope you get a solution to your problem soon and if I can help any other way just let me know:thumbup:

The problem with what you are asking is
that if someone did give you a backup of an AT&T C-105a
you would then flash it to your phone and effectively have a duplicate iMEi of the person's phone who provided the backup files.
This in itself is not that big a problem as you could then use kies to reflash to Stock and fix your factory imei partition .
The real problem lies in the fact that not just anyone is going to be comfortable supplying you, or anyone else on the interweb a dd.image backup contain their personal imei info.
This said I wish you all the luck in the world getting your phone back into operation.

Rather open-ended question because the correct firmware is going to vary depending on what you want to do. For instance, do you wish to revert to a stock ROM? Do you want to be as up to date as possible? Are certain features important to you?
I personally don't recommend going back to stock, but to go forward and get a custom gingerbread ROM. Check the development forum for four good ones: Longhorn 2.9.1, DSC 1.2, Cyanogenmod 7, and MIUI.

no need to revert to stock then... streakdroid 1.9 is the best for 2.2.2... so whats the point on going back to stock...? all stock are not optimized at all and have many hidden and useless application in it...
last time i tried using the deodexed stock but still it is not enough and does drain the battery too... custom rom is way better...
but if you insist on going stock.. i am not stopping you.. do what ever you want.. also updating to stock gingerbread such as olleh 407 has its own problem too...

I see from other posts that you are going to put 407 on the device and with this post why you're going that route is clear. Factory reset isn't required prior to flashing because flashing the ROM itself will wipe everything. What is required is that the stock recovery image for 407 be placed on the device before attempting to flash the ROM. Otherwise it won't work. I'm not going to go into detail on how to change the recovery image because there are sticky posts galore that have all the relevant info. A good thread to look at is in Streak 5 Android Development, titled "Everything you always wanted to know about the Streak but were too busy bricking it".

The country you are in and the carrier you are using do not matter when it comes to flashing a Streak ROM. All that matters is whether the region of the recovery matches the region of the ROM you are installing. Thus, for 407, you would need a region 14 recovery as 407 is a region 14 ROM. Unlocked Streaks purchased direct from Dell had their own region, 00. To flash one of those ROMs, e.g. 360, you would need a region 00 recovery.
I hope that clears things up.
I bought my streak from india and it has has rom 357

Hi,
New to this scene, but basically I want to run pure jellybean on my S III I9300.
I've looked at a few tutorials on YouTube, and then I came across this:
http://galaxys3root.com/galaxy-s3-root/how-to-root-galaxy-s3/
Would that be the best way to root my S III?
And in terms of roms, I'm basically after a stable rom that I can use as a daily.
I've seen heaps of different roms on the site, but I would like to know what most people are running, in regards to what I'm after.
To flash the rom, do I go into clockwork recovery and install rom, then g apps, and then clear SD cache?
Thanks guys

No see item 1 in my signature, safest and fastest way to root. I assume you have an International Galaxy S3 with a 4412 Exynos cpu. If you have another device it will not work.
For a good and stable rom there are many good ICS and JellyBean rom`s. I personaly prefer the one in my signature. But you try anyone you like. Read up a bit aboutt rooting and flashing first i wouls suggest, to prevent possible problems.
See the Development section for rom`s, good luck and happy flashing mate
im really confused now lol
i understand the root part, and i can follow that quite easily.
but im really unsure with the roms, i heard cm10 was good, but then i also heard people complaining that some things dont work.

As you are new to flashing I would stay away from cm10/aosp Roms until you're more comfortable with what you are doing, get used to flashing Samsung based Roms/flashing mods/creating and restoring nandroids and generally feel confident in what you are doing
I also suggest you stay away from any AOSP builds.. Until you get some more knowledge and know all the tricks to fix basic problems rather than creating numerous amount of threads
Just root and install Omega 13 or Checkrom
Tip: Nandroids are your best friends when flashing roms.. It's always great to make a back up before flashing anything

Also in the "Original Android Development" sub-forum there are some roms being started.
It may be better if Devs team together and pool resourses.

L9 is at the stage where Group effort is very important. The idea which one can conceive is not necessary other would conceive too. Different persons can solve problems like this (not all) faster than a single person, by sharing ideas and suggesting changes and helping each others in changes and experiments. Goodluck to all.

bro, u know how sometimes u read an instructions article in a hurry and sometimes dont finish it thinking your common sense will seal the deal. thats what happened with me, better to be near sure about results then taking chances and regreting it. im positive I wouldve saved alot of time if I stopped for a while and read carefully. atleast I can say I learnt a few things here and there, still dont know whether I can root this rom. frankly cant be bothered to try anymore, developers on the mega section could make their rom introductions abit easier to the common user with simple background knowlege, especially regarding going back if not happy. I was planning to install linux with my root, but after all thats happened these past months i cant be bothered to even adjust settings according to my taste, e.g. my keyboard is still vibrating when i type. the notification bar on top is to far on this tabl...smart phone and settings gets lost in the stock cloud wallpaper. im just gonna roll with it, maybe samsung does know whats best for their phones, if they'd only let us move the app drawer to the centre of the dock dammit.

Yes, I know how it happens...
There is thread about rooting ROM with KNOX from ValenteL http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2574953
As I am afraid your counter of unofficial installation is tipped to 1 and you are already void your warranty, maybe try a shoot for it. Anyway if you want to stay with new ROM it will be sensible to made factory reset of your phone and installing on it newest ROM once more, but this time through Odin from your PC. Lets read about how to use Odin (there are several threads on forum) and download from Sammobile newest, not branded ROM. In this manner you can make fresh start. Then if you dare you can try to root it using method from link above.
Me I am very careful about upgrades and do not decided to flash in blind newest ROMs when they arrive... and all for better, because new ROMs comes with new bootloader (which prevent to downgrade to previous versions and when you try you can brick your phone) and with dreadful KNOX... Now i will wait at least for KitKat to upgrade.
Knox
I really hate it when Samsung went for Knox.. It made life harder for our devs
Okay so I have a Samsung galaxy s2 gt-i9100. I have rooted the phone and I thought to have installed cwm (which came with the root)
but I still boot into stock recovery (even though Rom manager tell me I have cwm 5.x.x installed or something along those lines).
I know now that the kernel resets to stock recovery. So i am running 4.1.2 and my build number (found in 'about phone') is JZO54K.I9100XWLSW.
I have downloaded 'philZ-cwm6-XWLSW-XEU-5.06.1.zip' from his XDA thread, and was wondering is this the right one for me. And since I am already rooted and all that I was also wondering if installing this will clash with my root and mess up everything- thanks in advance, I really appreciate the help.
You got the right one and are good to go.It won't "mess" anything, you'll basically get a stock kernel+cwm+root in a single flash.Good for starters if I may.
This is the exact method I used to root, and now I'm happily running my (probably) 30th different custom rom.......

Don't use ROM Manager on S2. Ever. It's a sure way to screw things up. For some reason it seems to end up corrupting recovery on S2.
Why are n00bs so attracted to Rom Manager ? It's **** on any device. Only lazy people use it on the devices it actually works properly on.
