Hi from a new member in trouble!
I foolishly thought I could update my wife's mini pro to 2.3 so that she could use BT SmartTalk as I tried SmartTalk on 2.1 and it doesn't work.
I rooted the phone ok and installed xrecovery, chargemon and busybox as described on many threads.
Then Powered off, rebooted and went into xrecovery to do a backup which was successful.
I then used the update function in xrecovery to install a ROM update who's filename is update-cm-7.1.0-X10MiniPro-signed.zip after having removed the "assert" statement from the update.script file and rebuilding the zip. The update process seemingly finished successfully.
Did a full factory reset and cleared all the cache's and battery log.
Told xrecovery to reboot and that's when it all went t*ts up!
The phone sticks on the white "sony ericsson" logo and won't boot into xrecovery while pressing the back button so I can't restore the original ROM.
It won't switch off and the only way to switch it off is to remove the battery.
I tried to recover using PC Companion but it says it has no software for my phone.
I also tried the hard-reset by powering on and holding all combinations of the other buttons to no avail.
Using S1tool "identify" function it says it is an unrecognised certificate.
This is the second time this has happened, the first time I sent it back to the seller claiming it was faulty and he fixed it but I can't do that again!
Can anyone please tell me how I can recover the phone, it must be possible as the seller managed it.
Many thanks.

Hello All,
I just bricked my x10, and have no idea whats going on, other than knowing that the x10 is bricked! So this is what happened...
I backed everything with titanium backup, and then proceed to do my JIT and Cleaner in shell root. I first shell root then ran the JIT_enabler v2, then after that I ran the junk_cleanup. When the junk cleanup finishes, I ddint like how it was set up and couldnt figure out how to change it back, so I did a full system backup from titanium. After the backup it was still no good, I then proceed to do a factory reset in the privacy tab in system settings. When I came back to my phone after the factory reset, it erased everything.... my screen was blanked and I couldnt do anything. I restarted the phone, and the phone was stuck on the Sony Ericsson logo. I couldnt even turn off my x10. I restarted one more time by taking the battery out, but it is still stuck at the Sony Ericsson Logo... what should I do? is my phone done for? i only had it for less than a week =[
please help! thanks!
You'll need to repair your phone, using pc companion. At update it'll say up to date, update it anyway and you'll start from scratch.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
but the problem for using PC companion is that I cannot even connect my phone with PC companion because I cannot mount my memory card. Its stuck at the SE logo sign, and when I plug in the usb cable, it tells me to drag down the menu and mount the memory card.... and I cannot do that because my main screen is still stuck on SE logo... any ideas? Thanks!
You do not need to mount your sd card for pc companion or seus to work. Load pc companion, take the battery out of your phone for 30 seconds. Put the battery bck in the phone and attach thhe usb cable. Do not plug the other end in to your pc yet. Start the update on pc companion and it should ask you to attach the phone in flash mode. When it does that hold the back button on your phone down and while still holding itdown, plug the usb cable in to your pc. Follow the instructions and it should then be back to normal

Right my friend, don't worry. As long as you can get to a Sony Ericsson logo it is not bricked!
By getting to the Sony Ericsson logo it means that Flash mode is still available.
Have you changed your carrier code on the phone? If so use the firmware for that code, if you are not sure just ask again what we mean
Secondly get the Flash tool, stick in the firmware, boot into flash mode and you should be set my friend.
Just make sure its the right firmware for your phone
If you need any more help just ask

Hi all,
a while ago I have installed a custom ROM (JIT). look at xperiax10.net (left lower corner) for details on JIT
Before doing this I had to install Xrecovery (0.3) and busybox. All worked fine, but today I wanted to install a newer custom ROM. Since my Xrecovery didn't work on boot (repeat pressing back button on startup logo), I wanted to install the Xrecovery again, but then it comes with an error. That leaves me with factory reset. Tried the hard reset (phone off, left silver button + righ silver button hold simultaniously when booting phone > no luck. Tried to install PC suit, but phone won't be recognized (neither by USB nor BT).
Any help??
First off Welcome to XDA!
Are you able to boot into the rom?
If so, are you able to copy the three xrecovery files to /system/bin ?
The phone starts as it would usually with factory firmware. If I try to boot into Xrecovery it doesn't do anything.
Now, I managed to get a factory reset (settings, privacy), but this does only set the standard apps settings etc to factory settings. Since I modded the firmware with Xrecovery, it is still modded. However, I am not sure whether it is still rooted. I tried to root/unroot the device, but it tells me that it doesn't allow it because of JIT installed or something like that.
When I try to reinstall the Xrecovery it comes with the same error as before.
But via Astro I am able to open whatever location I need, as well as with Windows Explorer, when connected via USB.
I'd like to either:
- get busybox and Xrecovery removed and the factory settings (boot) restored OR
- get the Xrecovery working again (with busybox installed and the phone rooted)
any clue how I can manage to do this?
problem solved!
I just got the phone rerooted, reinstaled busybox and xrecovery, and now it works fine.
Thanks for the help anyhow!
Excuse me for my bad english.
I've rooted my x8, after I want to install apps2sd, and it don't read adb command, now also the sim card it doesen't know and it doesen't connect with wifi.
What can I do?
Thank you

download and install stock OS by flashtool and then root it and install recovery using flashtool
after that you can restore or install wtever you want.
press thanks if helped
I tried installing CM7.1 last night but after i carried out all the steps and installed update.zip, the phone said something like recovery seems bad when i tried to reboot my device. It was either reboot with bad recovery or restore current recovery, i restored the first time and reinstalled CM7.1 but the same happened so i went with reboot with bad recovery and they said you might not be able to reboot into recovery, so after the reboot i got stuck on the Sony Ericsson logo, and none of the methods (SEUS, x10 flashtool, or the battery method) work. I couldn't find a solution anywhere. Is there a way i can possible reach xrecovery via my SD Card or something?
Thanks in advance.
I had mine stuck at the logo too, but I managed to flash it with flashtool by pressing the top and middle button (to reset the battery) and then press the back button to set the phone to "flash mode". It's kind of tricky but I'm sure you'll get it after a couple of tries (you should see the green light go on).
Get a stock .tft for your mini, the run flashtool. If it won't work try different versions of flashtool and also install Gordons Gate to make the drivers detect the phone.
I'm pretty sure there is no such thing as a "bricked" phone. If you can get into "flash mode" you should be able to recover the phone.
Good luck!
Thanks alot..
I tried using the old SEUS update service (i had a setup file) and it worked, my phone is now working
I recently found a thread that I posted this question to, but I did not get an answer, so I'm posting it here, for a bigger audience.
I was trying to install an another rom to the X10 Mini with clockworkmod installed. When the installation finished, cwm said that its installation had been damaged. I selected the option to fix the problem and after that the phone just restarted and went broken.
My phone doesn't even show the boot animation, it just has the sony ericsson logo, it doesn't stay off and when restoring with flashtool I get the message Error flashing. Aborted.
First, the phone stays in the flashing mode only when I keep the back button pressed, but after a failed flashing attempt it stays in the mode (without pressing the back key and with the green led on) and when I try flashing again, it fails after a while.
What would this be about? And what can I do to recover my X10 mini?
Do you happen to know if there's a confirmed working flashtool for the 2.1 update and x10 mini (not pro) OR another failsafe method to fix the phone somehow when even the recovery doesn't work?
Have you tried SEUS?
Restore your phone using Pc Companion or seus and then read every instruction 20 times, before doing anything. The only reason for errors is that you didn't do everything right.
