My galaxy s3 shows in setting that it is i9300 but when i check my imei it says sgh-i747 and in download mode too it shows i747 . I wanted to install a stock firmware on my s3 . Could you guys help me out and direct me to a stock firmware . My phone has 2gb ram and snapdragon s4 . I currently flashed it with sgh-i747 rom but as my network in unlocked i could not get any updates. Its at&t firmware that i am using now 4.1.1
You don't have an i9300 so anything here will hard brick it. Go to the right forum for help, see the sticky post on American phones.

Pretty strait forward question..
A friend of mine has bought Samsung Galaxy ACE S5830 and it is GSM locked by T-Mobile. So can it be unlocked if we replace the Android with some other custom rom or at least reinstall it with the Samsungs` stock rom

simply flashing roms wont network unlock your phone.
theres a thread somewhere guiding howto network unlock ace manually, but do note that 90% users that tried to network unlock their galaxy ace got their devices bricked or cannot be use anymore because missing imei. its really, really dangerous for ace.
i have mt65xx phone model gt-i9300 that phone absolutly likes samsung galaxy s3 so i need to upgrade android 4.0.4 to 4.1 or 4.2 so help me

Just try one ROM from the s3 forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1566 and flash it via recovery.

Another question in general:
Should the modem version of the phone and the one mentioned by the dev match?
If they don't match, will the phone brick?

i just bought a galaxy s3 i9300 from someone but when i conected it to kies it shows model number shv e210L..currently it has 4.1.2 uk unbranded software. it does not has installed CWRecovery and does not show rooted. i tried to root it through cf-auto root but it did not work. it has sms 80 limit and gprs data connection (edge is not). plz help me to root it, install recovery and install unbranded jellybean and kitkat english rom and fix sms and gprs issues..plzz tell me step by step guide, thnx
You haven't bought an i9300 you've bought a Korean shv e210l, as such your in the wrong forum there are hardware differences between the two devices and we can't help you here.

Only if it is for the i9300, anything other model number will brick your phone.
