As we know, power managment on our Wave is very poor..
I have small info from.. @oleg_k
We need to rewrite Battery driver.
What that give us? After restart we dont see -50% of battery
Longer battery life
That what we need..
And what about signal?
When we are in Only 2G mode as GSM Only, signal bar is freezed. Full or 0.
When we change it to only 3G as WCDMA Only (*#*#4636#*#* > First option > first list and WCDMA Only) bar work great.. from 0 to 4. All is right.
So what we can do for it?
@BenzoX @Tigrouzen @volk204 @Blue59
Any suggestion?
Yeah, battery driver needs improvement
Whole RIL needs improvement, to have stable network and battery...
But Rebellos (main contributor for RIL on wave) is out, and i'm not even sure to understand RIL code if i read it.
Also, i'm more or less out of wave dev
Maybe volk can do something, or Oleg, but not me.
I haven't got any problem for 2g and I'm not a developer
battery monitor widget
i found out an app that calibrates the battery while it is running, so if you can try it it would be great, install it and put the widget on homescreen then let the battery drop then charge it, it should automaticaly do the job!
The forum has been silent  couple of days , i hope one day all of our best Devs will come back for one heck of a last collaboration to beat the very last of every bug there is :fingers-crossed:

Turn off 3G, turn on only when needed
Settings -> Location -> Untick ''Wireless Networks and GPS Satelites''
Settings ->Accounts -> Untick Background data (Unless you want to use market)
Settings -> Wirelless -> Advanced -> Wifi sleep policy -> Never
Use phone on 2G, unless using internet (then switch to 3G mode)
Data traffic always OFF (Use only when needed)
Backlight low or Auto Brightness (And allow light to decrease)
Turn off wireless, basically everything turned off with the power control widget, turn on when necessary
Install task manager and set auto-kill mode to crazy on switch off screen mode (Put apps that always run in ignore list e.g. Launcher, Messaging. Basically the necessities)
Install SetCPU (After rooting your phone) - Min CPU 122mhz, Max CPU ~700mhz - 'On demand' profile
SetCpu - Profiles -> Screen Off -> Min 122mhz, Max 122mhz, Performance mode
Upgrade to Froyo 2.2 - Enable JIT (Saves battery on 2.2+)
Switch to a Cyanogenmod Rom
Enable undervolting (Only for CyanogenMOD roms)
Use RenderFX widget (CyanogenMOD, best to use low red, best to use when you are heading out)
Cyanogenmod - Spare Parts -> End Button Behaviour -> Go to sleep
LAST, but NOT LEAST, if you notice no significant increase in battery life, then your battery is no calibrated right! So go to market, download 'Battery Calibration', and charge your phone to 100%. Next, if its abbout 4000v - 4200v, your phone is correctly calibrated!
If its not 4000 -4200, press the ''calibrate'' button, and let your phone die out, then fully charge it (while its still powered off). Wait till light is green, TURN ON.
After boot, battery will not be 100% yet, reboot once more, charge to 100% (while phone is on), and check your new calibrated battery! It should now be 4000 to 4200v
I know there might be programs and applications to increase your battery life, but I dont have any experience with these, so feel free to post your experiences! Some examples may include juicedefender, etc
Anyone wants to add to this list, feel free =)

I don't know what goes wrong, but mine losts for only one day. If i have charged it overnight the battery is empty the next evening
No task managers. The phone manages its RAM well and the battery will last longer. For normal uses upto 1.5 days and for heavy users 1 day.

and here I heard installing juicedefender does more damage than good too.. what to believe? Everything is based on peoples hearsay and no evidence..
On my girl friends X10 mini I changed from ADW launcher to Helixlauncher and changed the brightness to auto. That made a HUGE difference.
Was on vacation and turned off 3G because I was not gonna use any expenisve data. That alone boosted my batterylife about 1 days worth.

people can do much to boost battery time, like turn off 3g, brightness control, turn off gps and so on, that all helps the battery
I have switched of almost everything and still get about 1 day of battery with about 2-3Hrs of music and a few calls and videos.
is it ok?
I get over 48 hours and I use the wifi a lot and do about 30mins of calls a day.
My tips:
* turn background data off and manually update ur emails when u want - this is the best tip I put it on my blog too
* manually enable network data when u need it
* use the top button to go on standby as soon as you are done using the phone
* keep gps, 3g and wifi off unless u want to use it
Sent from my U20i using XDA App
I have background data off.
No emailing whatsoever till now....
Almost 75% of the time in standby
Gps 3G wifi bluetooth are off.
Yet with stock launcer i get 24Hrs
Helix 30Hrs..
Why?
Its been two weeks(or 3) since i bought the phone...
Please reply.
BTW when did you buy the phone?
^^Ok.
I have come to know the problem.
Running any apps in background like Battery Indicator or task manager brings down the battery so much(the latter not much though)..
Because daily i used to get the above with battery indicator pro on.
But after uninstalling it i got about double that battery life..
So people better don't run them all the time.
task manager can be used sometimes about once every 2 hrs o so.
This increased my battery life so much on stock launcher
Just got the pro today. Will be ditching my X2 depending on the performance of this one after a week. So far, I love the mini pro for the fact that I can now hear my incoming messages and calls!
A couple of questions though:
1) Is there a way to wake up the screen when an SMS arrives?
2) Custom ringtone per contact?
3) Is there a way to disable screen lock when the phone goes to sleep by itself (not pressing the power button) ?
4) Is there a way to unlock the screen without the need to press the left button, I was hoping to go directly to the pattern unlock after i turn on the phone
Still getting used to the keyboard lay-out as I've been using X2 for almost 6 months.

I use Chomp SMS app and this allows the screen to wake-up, I think Handcent SMS does too. I never used the stock SMS app so not sure if there is a way to do it with that.

Not sure if this answers your question, I just press the Menu button twice to unlock the phone, never used the power button to wake it up funnily enough, only used the power button go in to sleep mode. When I press Menu button it wakes up to the pattern unlock.

Nice, i'll try to look for those apps. I did try the menu button and it worked. At least this relieves stress on the power button since I won't be using it to wake-up the phone anymore.
How's about not locking the phone when it goes to sleep? Unless I press the power button?
After a day with it, battery is now @ 30%+. Hope it improves or SE comes out with a high capacity.
Hi, where is the disable 3G button?
I can't seem to find it. I found wifi on and off.
and I unchecked location with gps.
thanks
Helix launcher is the best thing I installed to my mini pro. Batt life is now 3-4 days regular use and 5 days if i don't play games. Games are draining the batt quickly.
I'm totally getting rid of my X2.
3 to 4 days? Lol how can that be possible.. Did you use 3g?

I can prove it, there's a display in the phone where it says # of hours unplugged. If it's not working for you, doesn't mean it shouldn't for others as well. If you barely make 2 days, then that's what we should be LOLing about.
My setting is as follows:
- 2g only
- 1 to 2 hours of wifi and bluetooth per day
- 1 to 2 hours of games (love the games) per day
- tried GPS for 1 hour using mapdroyd
- a couple of calls and text messages per day
- tried watching a movie (AVI) for an hour using yxflash
- tried the media, played MP3s for an hour
- tried meebo for an hour
- I got my alarms ON always
- notifications ON always
- custom led lights for new SMS (using ringo pro) always
- max volume for the entire day
- medium volume at night
- data connection off
- background data off
- screen brightness to zero but the sensor is still working (weird), the screens still adjusts to the surrounding
This is after installing helix. Before helix, I got a max of 1 and a half days only.

So here's questions that I havn't yet cleared up. I noticed you can't really see your battery stats in ICS, or maybe it was that way in HC too, not sure. What are you guys doing to see what's using the most battery. I don't see anything natively.
Having said that, I also don't see a button to turn off GPS, or toggle it on/off from the bottom right ASUS menu. I know I can do it in settings, but toggling it would be more convenient, especially to conserve battery life.
Battery stats not showing up in the Battery area is totally on Asus. It is a function in both HC and ICS and was really expanded on in ICS. Asus did not cook their kernel to gather the info and send it to the battery setting chart, so that is why we only get system processes. Lame but true.
GPS now - as of ICS - has to be shut off in the actual settings OR using the "power control" widget. They lamely removed it from the quick settings in an attempt to get it out of sight and out of mind.
well, having just reading that, I'm more looking forward to custom roms than ever.
PLEASE
tell me the best ways to make a long battery life
I cant even reach 4 hours on full-charged battery
P.S: my evo is GSM ... not CDMA

Put your phone down every now and then...
Seriously, if you're only getting 4 hours, and you're using it moderately, then you need the battery replaced. Take it to Sprint, or call them and they should ship you a new one.
Otherwise, try a few of these things
Turn off 4G (If you have it on all the time, it'll burn your battery QUICK!)
Turn off GPS (Only use it when you need it. That's why the switch is convenient)
Put your screen on Auto-Brightness (Menu > Settings > Display > Brightness. Then check Automatic Brightness)
Make sure you have good signal (I've had this problem with ALL my phones. If you don't have a strong signal where you are, your battery will die quickly from searching all the time. Happens to me everytime I go to the Amway Center for Magic games. I just turn off my mobile network, or turn Airplane Mode on.)
Don't use Live Wallpapers (Even when your phone is sleeping, it's still running and will kill your battery.)
Check for a new kernal (If you're rooted, and you're running a custom ROM, then try using a kernal that will save your battery. Can anyone else recommend a good one?)
And one more thing, games will kill your battery quick (Some I've noticed are Words with Friends and Angry Birds)
really? 4 hours? that seems very low. most of us can go a full day with no problems - medium to moderate use.
try this.. for now..
turn off background data, auto sync
turn off all network location settings
navigate to settings>wireless and networks>mobile networks... uncheck the box that says "always-on mobile data"
turn off blue tooth if it is still on
turn off auto-brightness and set a pre-defined brightness level... set the slider just under 1/4 up - so about 20%
you will see significant battery increase. if you don't, you have another issue, but we'll cross that road later if need be. also, how much do you use your phone?
---------- Post added at 09:25 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:23 AM ----------
i wouldn't jump to any conclusions about the battery being defective just yet. it could be a wakelock issue from an app... but again, we'll look into that later. one step at a time here

I was using unity kernel for GSM
somebody reviwed this kernel and sayed that it takes 1% of battery every 70 minutes of idle
but for me ... in 70 minutes >>>. more than 2 %
I dont know what's WRONG !
This has given me very good results with all phones I've had:
I use Juice Defender and these are the settings I found that work for me. Of course I did some minor tweaking on these but in general this are optimal settings.

I assure you you'll see wonders with your battery.
Props to mistermetaphor over at AF for the settings.
Hi,
some time ago I recognized in the detailed battery stats (settings - energy option - battery usage - detailed history) that the orange bar of the WLAN is constantly shown, what would mean Wlan is on all the time - what its not.
now I had some time for testing:
put phone for some minutes in fly mode
than turned fly mode off (mobile data on, Wlan off) waited a while
for that time in the stats, as expected, no activity for Wlan
than turned on Wlan for a short time and turned it off again. waited again for a while
in the stats there is Wlan shown as active/using battery from the point of turning it on and off again till now .. :silly:
Now is the question: is it just an error in the battery stats or is it really still active in the background ..
one way to find out would be, to check the battery life (with similar usage of the phone) with all 4 possible settings, each time a circle off full charge to empty:
1. WLAN off all the time
2. WLAN on all the time
3. WLAN on and off half the time
4. WLAN on and off half the time (putting phone shortly in fly mode after turning WLAN off)
that would be quite time-consuming and still not very accurate?!
battery stat apps seem to need root, so I cant use them

Isn't it normal for it to be on? And I don't think there is a significant effect on the battery as long as auto sync is off.

what you mean with " normal .. to be on?" .. if I switch WLAN off, I want it to be off ..
it seems it doesnt do anything in the network anymore, but for the battery stats it looks like its still using battery - if this is significant or not, we have to find out .. in my mind, its still not logical or normal, but maybe only a bug in the battery stats system-app

excellent :good:
in the advanced settings the option: "scanning always available - Let Googles's location service and other apps scan for networks, even when Wi-Fi is off" .. disabling, shuts down wlan completely :good:
its so annoying, all the standard useless settings to be enabled ..
why, in gods name, would I want these services to scan for networks if I switch wifi off, I dont get it ..
big thx @bookworth
Hello guys,
I have installed on my RN2 AICP and this rom is great. I have only one problem with it - battery life (actually on cm12 it was even worse). 24h is the most I can get out of it (~1h screen on). Can you give me some tips to squeeze a little bit more out of my phone? 3060 mAh is not that much, but it's not that small battery either.
Did you put Xmister's custom CPU handling app on it? It does wonder for me, 5+ hours SOT and survives a full day.
maybe you can try latest sudamod, it has power save mode... also install amplify, power nap and greenify (http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/guide-extreme-battery-life-t3095884), dont use 4g, if you dont use 2 sim cards disable second one with multisim toggle, use manual brightness, turn off gps bt, try l-speed (https://www.google.hr/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=l-speed+xda), try moaab (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1916098), disable services and apps with titanium, limit cpu and so on.. sry but I cant remember all the things now...
Try to install xposed and Intelli3G module. It can be set to switch to GSM when screen off and LTE when screen on.
Today I used Kernel Adiutor (AICP built-in thing) to limit cpu to ~1,4 Ghz and also set governors to interactive. I will install xposed and play around with some modules, and post some results.
Also you can look up CPU spy to see what your cores are clocked at... if they are always on max then that's not normal.
Hello community,
i´m not allowed right now to comment the dev section, but for the screenmirror problem, you can add
persist.debug.wfd.enable=1 to the build prop, then you can activate wireless display in the upper right corner.
works very good for me, with beans stick and ezcast, hope this is helpful
big thanks to the dev for this nice rom
sry, my english is not the best
