[Q] SystemUI edit to remove top bar? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 5

Hello all.
I was wondering if anyone knew what I would need to edit out of SystemUI.apk to remove the bar at the top with the s-finder and quick connect.
I found a few things about changing the status_bar_expanded_header.xml. but there seems to be a lot of references with nothing concrete about the framework-jar as well.
Is it just that simple XML edit or is there something else that I need to do?

There is an xposed module that does this. Simple look at their sources should tell you how.

That is a great idea. didn't even think about doing that.
Thanks.

[Q] possible to hide status bar in lock screen?

hey guys. is it possible to hide the status bar from the lockscreen? I'm good with .xml, .smali or any other kind of edit. i just need to be pointed to where I would need to go.
I tried searching and came up empty handed. i'm trying hard to like the lock screen. i already changed the backgrounds (much better now), currently working on a custom lockring, last thing would be to hide that ugly status bar...it's only showing me what the lockscreen already shows anyways.
thanks for the info.
Download the app Widget Locker...U can remove taskbar and also a lot of customization to your style
I'm a big WidgetLocker fan, with my own custom themes made and all that when i was on the Evo 3D. i'm trying to move on with the times and use this nifty sense lockscreen. just has a few kinks to work out.
but if i dont end up fixing it to my liking soon enough i'll download widgetlocker again.
anyone else have any ideas as to how to get this done?
If you go into titanium backup, and freeze statusbar, it will do what you want, it will also remove in regular screen, possibly decompile lockscreen.apk and see if you can do it there.

that is not what I want to do at all. I don't want to make the status bar unavailable everywhere in the system. just within the lockscreen.
if I knew where to go, I can make .xml and .smali edits or whatever else. I just don't know how to search for things from scratch :-(

I'm just guessing, so this could be a useless thought, but... I think checking in idlescreen base would be a good start. You wouldn't probably want to mess with this in system UI because that would likely just hose the whole bar. Team d3rp seems to have maybe figured out making the bar transparent, which would leave the icons and if course be clear everywhere else too... but it's still finicky across the roms, so not quite done yet. pstevep is the man, and maybe could help? See what you can find and then maybe send him a pm.
bumpity bumb
bump, bump, bumpity bump.
any way to do this?
i would say edit lockscreen.apk (decompile and fish around) and also look in a androidpolicy.jar probably some lines of code your could remove/add to make it happen.
clever idea by the way. i am still trying to resolve issues with my idea of clearing notifications from the lockscreen by double tapping the home key. had it figured out for a little bit but it was causing apps to force close :/
again i like your idea... i probably wouldn't use it myself simply because i wouldnt be able to see important details or notifications etc without unlocking the phone

[Q] Removing colour change on statusbar icons when sync succesful.

Hi, I don't know is this the correct forum or not...if it's not can a mod move it.
Anyway, I've found in Gingerbread roms that the wifi, signal statusbar icons change when connected to internet/sync successful. Is there anyway to change this like editing xml files?
EDIT: found white/green icons(data) in lge-res.apk but can't find wifi. So what do i need to do next?
This is something I was researching as well. If I find an answer I post it here.
I find out there are in SystemUI.apk.

Center Clock Modding

I am running ShoStock3 v6.0.2 currently and have been working on theming it. I have gotten a lot of status bar icons from RockRatt and some of the icon theming I have done myself. Replacing images and recompiling the SystemUI.apk works fine for me.
Center clock however has been a pain in the rear end. I have been up and down XDA, other forums, and Google trying to accomplish this. Anytime I think I have it though, I replace my original SystemUI.apk with the modded one and just get FC.
This only happens if I have done any XML editing. Hasn't happened when it comes to icon editing.
Am I just coding it wrong every time, or is there something else I need to do besides edit the tw_status_bar.xml file?
Yes, I am a noob at this, but I have searched and tried the suggestions any many tutorials here and elsewhere. But I just can't get it to work.

[Q] Quick Settings mtk device SystemUI.ss

Hi guys...
One of my first posts on here.
I'm having trouble modifying the quick settings toggles on my Cubot X9. Chinese phone with mediatek hardware.
The quick settings have been modified by Cubot by the looks of it, now the problem is, I don't want it looking like this, the white is HIDEOUS!
I've tried xposed mods, after a long deodexing session, but none of the quick settings mods work. Its not xposed, because other mods work.
I have dug into my priv-app folder, but couldn't find SystemUi.apk anywhere, only a SystemUI_ss.apk instead. This seems to be a modified systemui.
What the hell is this about? And how can I mod it? I don't really want to decompile and recompile, because it doesn't even have the values folder with all the XML files in it...
I baffled!!
Please someone help me.. I have screenshots but am not allowed to post as under 10 posts :\ pm me for screens if needed. They show the quick settings and the SystemUI_ss.apk

You will have to decompile the apks. You will most likely have to search for them. Not a whole to do other wise. You might even have to find a different apktool to do the job as most don't deal with the way China based devices alter system apks.
Hey, I have the same issue too. Just recently received my Cubot X9 and I have managed to perfect near everything but those damn ugly white and green quick settings :/ I would LOVE to hear from anyone who manages to fix/get around this issue Please send me an email at [email protected] if you figure it out

Hey, I'm sorry but my English is very poor. I also Cubot X9 and I do not mind the white background and green icons but I'd like quick setting as CyanogenMod. Does anyone know how to add it?
Finally getting somewhere! I had to decompile the apk and then recompile.
Replacing the original Systemui_ss.apk
The only way I can find that works.
I now have grey background instead of white, and no stpuid grey pulley up thing that doesn't have a use :/
If anyone wants screens or guidance on what files I'm changing along the ways, feel free to ask. I will be writing a guide once I've played somemore and got everything boned down.
I look forward to some guidance and immediately try. However, I would also welcome Cm ROM for my device. Sorry. My English is very bad using Google translate
