So i downloaded a custom rom for my ace- s5830i with the s4 launcher built in but i wanted to change app icons....
I tried on the calculator app first
I decompiled with ninjamorph and changed the PNG in res/drawable-mdpi then recompiled and fixed the permissions back then restarted my phone..... The apk now shows the new icon and in titanium backup its also shown as u can see but in app drawer its still showing another icon
My question is how can i change the icons shown in the app drawer itself?
I tried to search framework-res.apk but it doesnt have the app icons
Help?

Forgot to mention the calculator now forces close whenever i open it too....
Ninjamorph does not decompile. It extracts the apk like a zip.

If by icon you mean application, than just drag&drop an icon down there wherever you want it, it will replace the existing icon
Install ADW launcher and you can change the icons. It comes with Themes as well. You can see my homescreen in attachments.
umm i flashed void rom and using go launcher now, so no problems... the problem with lg launcher was the shortcuts got reset after reboot...

To do that, you need to decompile both .apk files (from your ROM and from the Galaxy ROM) (I use apk manager to do that) Then compare "styles.xml" in /res/values folder and transfer the data from the galaxy one to yours...(this xml might be different in Galaxy ROM) And then you only need to re-compile and optimize it...
(As settings.apk is a proprietary ROM apk, you need to decompile/recompile it using HTC/Galaxy framework...)
Good luck with that
EDIT: In the link provided, there is how he did it....
EDIT: He didn't actually make it transparent, he just placed a theme wallpaper in the background instead of White one...
thanks for the info.i will look into it
You had any luck with this?
no, i am trying
welcome, any one can try it, if it is successful post it here
why is that ?

if I undestand, maybe is only a icon change in the launcher action button of opening the app drawer. You can change this by pressing the icon > edit > and selecting a new icon (pack, default or in other location). Hope it helps
if i select Default its that Blue one become...when on other themes it doesnt
Can some one upload the icon from LauncherPro?
aswel when app drawer is opened House gets blue corners too
I'm using Neat ROM Lite 3.2.1 and I'm wondering how to edit the framework-res or SystemUI to get the colored app background in the status bar (as shown in yellow in the image below). It's the blueish part on the left side where the icons are.

This is what the stock Samsung status bar looks like
I tried using Wanam's apk manager to decompile the framework-res/systemui of my rom and compare the xmls to those of JB roms, but I couldn't find where to change it. I'm thinking it might be something to do with SystemUI.apk/res/drawable/status_bar_item_background.xml or framework-res.apk/res/drawable/status_bar_item_app_background.xml
but I can't figure out how to do the change. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks
It could actually be a .PNG image in the res/drawable-hdpi folder. That's where I would look first

what the xml must edit to change black color to another color .. and blue color to another
and where is the xml ?
in settings.apk or framework-res.apk .. or lg-res.apk
thanks
any help ????
Look in the decompiled settings apk and you will find the layout for the list and what color code it uses. What you need to change depends on the ROM. They are not all the same. So it will be some trial and error and lots of looking.
Different for different ROMs and devices....you will have to look in the res/layout/ folder in the settings apk after decompiling it...it could also be predefined in the res/strings/styles.XML file which may contain the layouts for the strings
