After using recovery and install a new kernel ( seems not compatible ) after choose reboot to system option my Xperia S didn't function anymore and I couldn't able to use keys to reset or power on my phone.
I try all of combination of keys but nothing
I put in charging more than 8 hour but nothing ( only first solid RED led appeared and after hours it goes off and when try to charge another time it did the same )
when I connect to PC the flashtool shows it connected with debugging off and do nothing.
I can't go on flash mode or fast mode to reinstall again.
would some one help me to how can I bring my phone in live. ( I haven't a repair sony service in my town )
Have you tried what I said?

What did you said?
It's not bricked, one of my Xperia S phones did this to me on multiple occasions. The first time i just let it charge over night, or until the solid red LED turned to solid orange LED. The patience waiting for it to turn to an orange LED is the key here i noticed after it happening several times, interrupt it each time and it may as well be bricked through lack of patience.
Thread moved to Q & A section, kindly post in the relevant section next time.
3x vibe

As I wrote I try all combination of keys but nothing changed...
Just when I plug to PC red LED goes on but after about an hour it goes off , and when I replug it goes on again...
Last days when I plug to wall charger red LED acts the same pluged to PC but now red LED is off about 8 hours connected to charger....
Only the flashtool recocnised the phone with usb debugging off when I connect to PC but I can't go to flash mode or fast boot mode...
Is there any commands with an application that works with xperia s and re write its bootloader when its not in flash or fastboot modes.
I was installed all of the derivers needed for adb and ... when my Xperia S was working...

Hello, I have bricked Xperia Go, trying to install CyanogenMod from FreeXperia web-page, would appreciate some assistance.
First of all, my phone had unlocked bootloader and rooted GB (kernel 184).
I checked "Supported devices" page from FreeXperia project (sites.google.com/site/projectfreexperia) to learn that my Xperia Go is eligible for CyanogenMod 9 and downloaded FXP203 (FXP203-cm-9-20130118-UNOFFICIAL-zeus.zip). After sending "fastboot flash boot boot.img" as required by their instructions, I have a phone that doesn't start at all.
If I press Power+VolUp with USB cable plugged in, it with vibrate, LED turns blue for approx 5-8 seconds and becomes red after that. If I unplug the cable it stays red. That's it.
I would be deeply grateful if someone helps me get my phone into working condition.
You got the wrong file. Go = lotus (FXP203-cm-9-20130118-UNOFFICIAL-lotus.zip)
The changelog on the FreeXperia also says:
!!!! first flash stock 6.1.1.B.1.54 to update your modem FW for U,P,Sola,Go !!!
Sounds like you flashed the wrong kernel. You can download the lotus and flash the boot.img there.
Should be able to run CWM from there.
And the most wrong thing other than kernel is u flashed it over gb
First get the latest ics flashed then ur desired cm..

Dear all,
Thank you for your replies. Indeed, I did not check changelog, admit. My problem now is that I don't know how to flash lotus kernel - as I said, I can start the phone only with Power+VolUp then it vibrates, shows blue light for 5 seconds, which then turns into red.
Command fastboot flash boot boot.img gives "waiting for devices" message. Is there any way to solve this?

Download ics ftf, enter flashmode (power + vol down) and flash ftf.
Then start flashing cm9

U need to force shutdown
With my xu
I just remove the battery to achieve this
Bt xgo has non removable battery I guess
If volume up plus power is not working
Let the battery discharge completely
Then charge it and try again
Or else
Try removing and reinserting battery if u can (google how can u open up xgo)
@sAtan - no cm10 yet for xgo

Vol up + power. Wait for 3 vibrates.
Then hold vol up, jam the USB cable in.
You will now be in fastboot.
After 3 vibrates, hold vol down to get into flashboot to flash stock if you prefer to do so.

Actually, I ran into one different trouble now :-\ When I took my phone today to try reviving it according to your advises and pressed Power, LED started blinking rapidly (which, I assumed, meant that I should charge it). I connected the charger (from electric plug) and indicators lighted red, but only for few minutes and then it turned off. I tried twice again, but with the same result - LED lights red and after 2-3 minutes turns off.
If I press "Power" or Power+VolUp or whatever, the phone wouldn't vibrate, turn on or whatsoever. Is there anything I can go with it?
Hi all,
after successfully unlocking the bootloader and flashing CyanogenMod 10.1.0 RC2 boot.img via fastboot from Linux, I couldn't manage to boot the tablet again.
I tried several things (Emma, Flashtool, etc.) in order to relock the bootloader and/or flash a stock ROM, but I only could put the device into fastboot mode.
Things are getting possibly worse now: the red notification light is still, I can't neither reboot (pressing Power+VolumeUp for 5 seconds) nor halt (Power+VolumeUp for 10 seconds)...
What a mess! Anyone can suggest me how to fix this situation, please?
Alberto
This is why u shouldn't mess with your tablet.just use it as it came, not worth the hassle

This answer is about as helpful as a heart attack lol
I can assure you that even us dev's run into issues like this, I soft bricked my new tab 5 times today (still trying to figure out this recovery/no recovery thing sony is doing lol).
Aberto, I had/did the exact thing today, first off I'm guessing you have a wifi only like I do right? Those roms/boot imgs won;t work it seems, Im learning as fast as I can so I can get a port for Baked for this tab, I own the wifi only so its my first priority.
Here's what I did, took allot of patience, so be prepared to try a bunch of times!
1. Unplug the usb cable
2. hold both vol + and - (I know this is not documented but stick with me here), then press and hold the power button until the led flashed "white" "3 times" (u will see one white flash, then after about another 20 seconds a second set of white flashes will begin, it will blink 3 times)
3. Plug in the usb cable
4. Make sure you have emma/drivers setup, since this is a windows only (boo!) tool you should here the usb device plug notifiction that it detected the "S1 Service Sony Mobile Communications AB"
This only lasts about 1 minute before it will go back to red led, launch emma and restore a stock image from sony, after its done, unplug the device, and hold power, it should come back to life!
Thanks nycbjr, I tried this morning before getting to work and I could "unlock" the red notification light.
This evening I'll try to get further in the process of resuscitating my tablet.
Thanks for the tips!
Alberto

Glad I found this topic, but so far I can't get it to work.
Situation is the same I guess, red light, tried to flash the wrong img to my wifi only modell.
When I press all 3 buttons at the same time, the first white blink shows up after about 5secs, then there is a 3 blink sequence also in white after another 3-5secs. If I plugin the usb cable still holding down the buttons, no usb device is recognized, nothing happens..
If I keep holding down the buttons a 3 white blink sequence shows up again, followed by a white/red quick blink, then after 5 secs another 3 white blink sequence starts again, followed by a white7red combo et cetera. As soon as I release the buttons it turns to a constant red again.
Any more ideas or should I just keep trying?

Normally it is the follows:
Hold Vol+ and Power.
1x blink = Reboot (doesn't help you in this case)
after holding it longer
3x blink = Shut down (device is switched off and in a defined state)
Drink a beer
open flash-tool and prepare the firmware to flash
Hold Vol- and plug the device to the computer
If the led turns green the firmware will flash
If not check what the flash-tool says in which state the device is
If the led turns red maybe the battery is to empty?!?
I don't know about the red led, but thanks for the hint.
Pressing only vol down when pluggin in the usb seems to have changed something. I tried power+vol down before but that didn't help.
Now flashtool seems to be working, it says it's flashing, but it seems to take ages. I'll let it keep on working for now (running since 10mins, but after "checking header" and "flashing data" there is no progress anymore...yet). I'll report back
I canceled it after 2h with no progress...damnit.
Does anyone have another suggestion?

Hi, try flashing again with Emma but use a different USB cable i had a similar issue where the flash started then seemed to freeze so tried a different cable and it worked.
Edit: lol seems i missed your post where you tried again with Emma -_- glad you got it sorted though

you need a big kiss from someone thanks a million :good::good::good::good::good::good::good:
This worked for me, albeit after trying the first part (holding VOL+, VOL- & POWER) intermittently for 2 days.
What seemed to get the table/battery to reset was I connected the USB cable to the charger on a wall outlet on the second day. When I plugged in the cable the Red LED came on and stayed there. After an hour it was still red so I removed the cable and tried 1) pressing VOL+ & POWER (about 3 seconds), then 2) VOL- & POWER (about 3 seconds) and after a while the red LED went off.
Then I tried the VOL+, VOL- & POWER and it started blinking white once, then white again after a while, and I was able to continue with the instructions.
Thanks!
Hello guys. This is my problem with Xperia P.I tried to update CWM from 6.0.1.2 to 6.0.3.0 in hope that I will get rid of that status error 7 when trying to install CM 11.Ok so what I did:i downloaded an update for CWM in zip format,i transferred the zip files to my xperia p internal storage then disconnected the phone from pc,then I booted the phone In CWM and from there I tried to update CWM by selectin install from zip sd card the zip archive. It said It was succesfull then asked for reboot and that was. After that the phone gone dead,no response from it even when I tried to power it on or to reset it by key combinations nothing worked.Even when I plugged it on charger nothing or in my pc usb.So when this happened my phone was rooted/unlocked bootloader and running latest JB build 6.1.2.A.100.So what I tried so far:i plugged it in wall charger for 6+ hours in hope I will get a life sign from it and nothing. Then I tried to disconnect its battery,i know its non removable but it has a cord attached that can be detached and I did it for about 5 mins. After that I reconnect the battery and plugged it in.Well I got a solid red led on it and I thought oh well it seems it worked but after exactly 15mins the red led goes out and nothing happens after it.At the moment I am writing this the phone already is dead by 24 hrs+.And yea I tried to connect it in flash mode for flashtool but not a sign at all.My pc doesn't detects it.So is there any hope left for my phone? If so please give more solutions.Oh and another thing it seems that after the red light goes off after 15 mins and I unplug it from charger and reconnect it the red led comes again and the process can be repeated. So should I try this way to charge it until it has enough power to do some responses?

if ur bootloader wasn't unlocked use SUS or sony pc suite to recover ur pc .... nd correct title , this isnt hard brick , i think u flashed a kernel from a different device ... if bootloader was unlocked then flash stock ftf using flashtool.. and flashtool works only in windows 7 and below ... making it work in windows 8 is tedious turn off ur phone and then hold volume down button then connect usb cable if green led lights ,that is flashmode

I am running Windows 7 and the bootloader is unlocked. Also I cant use flashtool or any software from pc because the phone it doesn't get detected. But if I plugged it on pc USB it does give a red light for exactly 14 mins then the red led goes off. Also any key pressing or key combinations doesn't help as I don't get any response from phone. So I am really sure its hard brick.Only sign from it is the red led that goes off after 14 mins.
So anymore ideas?Does my phone was hard resetted after I detached the battery for 5 mins and then reattached it?Because before this I didn't got the red led.And also should I try to recharge my phone by pluggin in it in charger wait 14 mins till red led gets off then repeat this process?

And how I am supposed to turn phone off when I get no sign from it when I am pressing volume or power keys. The only sign I get is the red led that after 14 mins goes off.Yea I flashed/updated a wrong CWM for my phone. And how that could screw my phone that bad I don't have any idea.
Just remove the battery chord from the battery (not the charger chord). This means, your phone is in turn off mode. Then reconnect it. Then try those flashmode combinations.
And for any further status 7 issues refer to my guide. Link is in my signature

its not hard brick ... in hard brick you don't even get to see the red led ..... this is a basic soft brick because he flashed incompatible kernel which failed bootloader test and hence he is getting this red led .... hard brick = phone becomes paperweight with no led or anything working ....... even charging which does in his case ....... he is just unable to turn on flashmode , (typical case with new users), even i also flashed wrong kernel on my xgo (u cannot even remove battery in that) , i just waited for red led to shut down then holding volume down and then plugging in usb i was able to get flashmode

if you can try using those "butterfly chargers" , the ones which directly charge battery..... then try this approach cuz flashmode needs 30% battery minimum to run , 75% is recommended

Hello all, My device is a SGP311.
Currently it's unable to boot on its own. Holding down the power button makes the LED flash RED 3 times then goes out.
Through various experiments I am pretty sure the bootloader is unlocked.
I can boot in FastBoot doing this:
Holding Volume Up
Holding Power
Having the battery disconnected
Plugging the USB cable to my computer
I have tried to flash TWRP doing this:
fastboot flash boot twrp-3.3.1-0-pollux.img
I get this result:
sending 'boot' (11802 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.374s]
writing 'boot'...
OKAY [ 0.580s]
finished. total time: 0.962s
I have been unable to get it to boot or show anything on screen. I don't know what to do about it anymore, I spent hours and hours trying things. At this point I don't know if its the battery, the screen or whatever else.
If I simply plug it in, the LED goes RED and stays so.

Hello!
3 blinking led lights usually mean, there is no sufficient battery charge to start the tablet.
I would suggest to charge tablet to it's max, then check, if it boots - install firmware via TWRP or restore tablet using xperia-companion software or Flashtool v.0.9.18.6 to stock firmware.
I'm new here and I have the same problem as OP.
I did the same steps and now I have the same problem described by alex30333.
I would appreciate if someone could help us out.

I tried that without success.
I did everything using Flashtool and the moment to flash it, I hold down volume and plug the usb and... nothing.
I'm clueless right now, any other idea or the device is completely gone?
I fixed my problem. In my case I forgot to install the usb drivers.
After that, everything went smooth. Using Flash Tool to debrick it. Then I followed the procedure to install LineageOS.
That video helpled as well.
