[Q] Video Editing apk - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I had a client reach out to me and want a android app that can edit videos, add filters, that sort of thing. Is there any open-source code to use or is this a custom build? What would it take to produce a video apk? Seems a little out of my leauge lol.

[Q] Capture screen output locally

I'm looking to create a few usage videos for the stock Thunderbolt experience and I'm looking for a little help. I understand I can capture screen output remotely using the adb, but I'm looking for an application that will allow me to capture video locally - right from the phone.
Obviously, there may be some resource issues, but the technical capability is there - just looking for something to facilitate this.
I've searched and searched, but I've yet to find something.
i use ShootMe
it has screenshotting and screen recording (video)
but sadly wont record the sound
Thanks guy, ShootMe is perfect.

Notepad with video

I'm taking a week of classes for work and would like to record the lectures (it is allowed) on video. While recording, I want to supplement the video with handwritten notes where appropriate. Has anyone seen an app that allows you to take notes that synchs with the video?
Thanks -
I too am in search of the perfect solution for taking lecture notes/audio/video. I've spent the last two days reading, searching, and testing apps. So far the best solution I have found is an app that will let me record audio while typing text notes (although my ATP's mic is terrible). The only solution I could come up with is to record video from my Razr and stitch the notes and video together after the class in Evernote or something similar.
I read at some point in the past two days about ICS not allowing the camera to operate in the background while using another app or when the screen turns off (tablet sleeps). I got burned on an app purchase because of this. The dev said it would still record while I did other things because the app ran as a "service". It didn't... cam stream would shut down if app wasn't active on the screen and it never would record to SD. I'm not going to name-and-shame the app here, but it seems we're both SOL for the moment. I'd sell a kidney to have an app that would allow video, external mic audio, and typed notes at the same time.
I have no idea if this will work or not, but it's worth a shot for you guys wanting this.
This is my idea:
Install "OverSkreen Browser", it's basicly an internet browser that works like a browser does on a PC, it adds a layer on top of the screen where the browser is in. So you can launch (for example) Youtube app, and have the OverSkreen browser sit on top of the YouTube app, being able to interact with both of the apps.
I do not know if this also works with the camera, but try it out
Just install the browser, set it up, launch the browser, click on home, launch the camera, press recent apps (or click the notification that comes up with overskreen browser) and click on it.
That would possibly allow you to record while also being able to take note in for example Google Docs.

Well... the good news is that the Overskreen browser actually worked. I could successfully record 720p HD video in the background while running Evernote in the Overskreen browser.
The bad news is that the web version of Evernote sucks equally well in both the stock browser and Overskreen. I will have to find another web-based note taking solution if I'm going to solve my video recording problem while taking notes. Perhaps I might try Google Docs or SpringPad. SpringPad's new interface for taking lecture notes just doesn't look like it will work though.... since it's been Pinterest-ified.
On a side note, I was able to use Gmail successfully while recording 720p video in the background using Overskreen with minimal input lag... so there is hope.
Any other suggestions on quality web-based note taking apps?

[Q] Real-time video morphing camera app?

I've been searching everywhere for an app to mirror, morph/warp and record the user's face through the camera in real-time. I can't recall the name of the iOS-app that does this, but the question is if there is an app like that for Android?
If not, why? Is it not possible due to API or something?

Modifying SmartTubeNext for no user input seamless playback like in YoutubeTV.

Hi,
I need a ad free youtube expereince on Fire TV 4k. For this, I installed SmartTubeNext. It does the job fine, but I have one big issue with it.
Its autoplay behavior is different from that of the original Youtube app or Youtbe TV.
I need SmartTube to automatically always be playing some video from the suggestions and not wait for any user input.
Right now SmartTube starts and waits for userinput on what to play.
While I can open SmartTubeNext via intent and tell it to play some specific video. it will play it and then just stop when the que is finished and wait for userinput again.
I do not want SmartTubeNext to wait for any userinput and if not specifically instructed by the user to play any suggested video, unless the user specifically selects a specific video to play.
This is exactly how YouTube TV behaves. You switch it on and it will start playing a video from suggestions right away and play the next suggested video once the first ends indefinitely. Or if you cast a specific video to YoutubeTV, it will automatically play a suggested video after the video that you casted ends. But the downside is that the stock apps show annoying ads.
What I have tried so far:
1. Posted an issue on github and asked for this suggestion to be implemented. Unfortunately there are also others, who want the opposite. They want every video to play only when they want. SO the suggestion has not been implemented yet.
2. I tried compiling the code on linux with the hope to modify code like "onSuggestedItemClicked" or "onFinish" to set the player to keep playing a suggested video. But as the compiling fails with error "buildStorigDebug" does not exist, I failed in compiling. Also on the github there are amny who struggle to compile STN.
3. I tried decompiling and modifiying the code, with dex but fail as I'm totally lost in the code.
Anyone can help me and tell me how to implement this simple feature into SmartTubenext?
Any help would be appreciated.

Is it possible to have a virtual camera in android?

Just Like obs-virtual camera in windows.
I heard sharing audio input via multiple apps is possible.
I know 2 apps cannot directly use camera simultaneously.
Can an A app that is using camera send the video stream being taken to another camera app( i”ll call it B)??
So when user click that B camera app, video being taken by A app shows up and it seems like B is using camera but actually B is just showing the video that A app is taking that moment.
And in this case when i click recording button in B app, recording will the video be recorded?
I wonder it could possible if i build both a and b apps by myself.
If android doesn’t allow it.. What if the phone is rooted or using custom ROM?
as far as i know, there are linux and windows custom rom that are not based on android source .
And of course , these ROMs can be installed and run in android phones.
There are apps that helps to live stream on multiple platforms at sametime from phone.ex) streamlabs Does this imply the answer to my question is yes..?
