[Q] Help: Back to Stock After Debloating NC5 - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

Hello all,
I have an S4 running NC5 and I have used TowelRoot to get root. I have deleted pretty much all of the apps on the Safe to Remove list in the general forum. I now want to accept the new OTA Update that was released two days ago in hopes of it fixing my SMS not sending issue.
I am not looking to keep root or rom in the future, life is too busy for that anymore, I just want the new OTA and a totally bloated stock unrooted ROM.
How can I restore these deleted apps? Please tell me there is a way. I know there will be a few guys wanting to say "Shoulda froze them" lol but I figured there would be a way to restore them.
Thanks to any and all responses
E.

OK, download Odin 3.07 or above, and also download the i545 nc5 factory.tar file. Put the nc5.tar in the PDA/AP slot, and put your s4 into download mode by holding down+home+power when its off. Then click start once Odin finds the s4 and let it do its thing. When its done, go through the setup like when you got the phone and just take the ota. Should be stock with the latest ota. Hope I helped, reply if you have a question

Glad I was able to help you! I've had to use Odin so many times, it isn't funny.

[Q] Stuck cannot get past Download mode

Hi,
I recently J Tagged my galaxy S4 Verizon and it came back to me with these specs:
ME7 stock Rooted Rom
Android 4.2.2
Base band
I545VRUAME7
Safe Strap 3.64 TWPR v 2.6.3.1
Hyperdrive ROM ver 10
I tried to use ODIN to re-flash to stock ROM VRUAMDK_Nowipe_tar_md5. So that I may be able to update to the new Hyperdriver ROM and it didn't turn out as planned.
HERE IS WHAT I DID:
I just turned off the phone.
Installed Samsung drivers on PC
Down loaded the TAR file loaded it in to ODIN and hit PDA and let it do its thing.
I've tried this several times and every times it ends in a FAIL.
I can put the phone into download mode but that it nothing past that.
Some times I get the message to connect it to KIES as it need missing files. I did that too and KIES takes forever to search for the S4 and cannot find it.
The drivers are installed the PC recognizes the phone. But KIES does not.
The guy who J tagged it said that he froze the system apk SDM 1.0 to stop OTA.
Does any one know how to help me get out of this predicament? I would really appreciate the help and guidance.
Thanks in advance!

You can't revert to older firmware. It's been posted over and over. If you were on ME7 then you have to get a ME7 Tar file and use Odin to flash that. After that, if you want Hyperdrive RLS 12, you would have to update to MJ7 (or MK2), then install Safestrap 3.70.
You have a lot of reading to do. I suggest you take your time and do your research.

Hey thanks for the reply, you're right I should have done some more reading. I managed to start the phone but it's running real sluggish. I've done several searches for a ME7 TAR file to use with ODIN but I can't fine any thing. You happen to know of a link that could help me out. Appreciate it.
Sorry for the bother!

Thanks so much for the help and the links they really saved the day. I managed to follow instruction closely and installed stock ME7 through ODIN and rooted the phone.
Should I go ahead and do a OTA update or will lock me down and keep me from installing custom ROM?

You can currently root any of the I545 versions, so updating is not prohibited. You'll need to decide if it's worthwhile.
None of the versions later than MDK will allow you to install a custom recovery. Also, Custom ROMs are limited and installed using Safestrap, only Touchwiz compatible. No AOSP or CM.

I just going to repeat things like a parrot because I'm new to all of this. I flashed the wrong ROM, meaning ROM meant for another model other than my phone which is a SCH-I545. That ruins the EMMC chip that has all the booting up information. At this point the phone is HARD BRICKED. In J TAG they use a certain device after disassembling the phone and re install necessary software to bring it back to life and save the phone, so you don't have to throw it away. Man folks of Ebay offer this service for around $30 not a bad deal. Made my phone run pretty good as new.

[Q] VZW S4 overheated lost my MDK

Hey guys... I need some help.I have many questions.
So as the title says. My S4 over heated. It's actually been happening for a while and the glass had begun separating from the digitizer over the last few months. A few day ago I awoke to a blotched out black screen that blacks out every so often.
I held off getting a replacement because I was rooted, loki'd on the MDK bootloader.
My replacement arrived today and it was the MK2 baseband. Upon start up VZW tried to push the OTA to me. i stopped it and postponed it to 6:00 AM eastern, MDK was easy, but I'm not familiar with this new process and had some questions. So using searches on XDA I have:
1) Rooted with Saferoot
2) Installed Wanam Xposed
3) Renamed SDM.apk & FWUpgrade.apk to .bak's to the update <-- was this right? I dont want to wake up to a voluntarily installed OTA.
Questions
1) Should I install SafeStrap, if so which version? I see there's an ATT version out there for upgrading to NC5, but there's also a MK2 version.
2) I see a lot up people were able to update to NC5 and keep root with Surge's method. Is there an advantage to this?
3) What's everyone doing for hotspot/tethering now on MK2 and up?
4) On MDK, most of the ROMs were debloated. What do I do to get rid of some of this VZW bloat on here.
Now I need help with the old phone.
Even though the other phone over-heated. I can just see VZW rejecting the exchange because I was rooted, Now with the screen being all black blotches and cutting out, I can't really return it to stock. The phone turns on, and works. I just cant see what's on the screen.
Is there a way for me to utilize my computer to unroot, return to stock recovery, and install a stock ROM all without being able to see the screen on the phone?
I don't want to delete my old Clockwork Mod nandroids from my SD card until I can return the old phone to stock.
Thanks for your help in advance.

1. Install Safestrap for your corresponding baseband. If you have mk2 then install safestrap for mk2.
2. If you upgrade to NC5 and keep root you can flash 4.4.2 touchwiz roms on the stock slot usingthe att 3.72 safestrap
3. For tethering you can use foxfi or you could use surges tethering unlock
4. You can debloat stuff by just disabling the apps you dont want.
For your old phone,
1. You should be able to get your data off of it by just connecting it to your computer then copying stuff from your old phone to your computer.
2. To reset it back to mdk stock, you should boot into odin mode doing the keypress when your phone is off, then after a few seconds press volume up to comfirm boot into odin mode. Then you should be able to odin mdk stock from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2751461

[Q] Advice on upgrade from 4.2 (ME7) to 4.4?

I have been reading around here a few hours, but I haven't found exactly what I'm looking for, So I thought I'd ask.
Here is what I have:
Safestrap version:3.65
Baseband Version: I545VRUAME
Kernel: 3.4.0-690088
Build Number: JDQ39.I545VUAME7
Rooted Stock Rom running 4.2.2
I am looking to update to 4.4.x, and be rooted.
Preferable to have CM, but not necessary.
Do need root, for a few of the tweaks/apps I use every day.
I have seen that there are odin files to upgrade to 4.4.3 directly, but it seems cloudy whether or not it can actually be rooted after that.
I like the way safe strap has rom slots, but due to the large size of the roms, I could really only use one at a time any way. (what I am saying is that SS isn't necessary, just what I already know.)
Thank you, so much in advance.

You need to read the stickie in the general forum before you brick your phone... Not sure how you missed it.
sent via safestrap 3.72 and echo v25.1! !
Well I followed the instructions in this post (which was stickied) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2720163
and now all I am getting is "System software not authorized by Verizon Wireless has been found on your phone. Please turn off your phone and go to the nearest Verizon Wireless store for help. "
Tried rebooting into download mode, and into recovery, neither would come up.
Anyone have some advice?
I would post in the forum I linked but I dont have enough posts under my belt to post in that category.
Oh, and in the top left side of the screen in red letters I see Secure Fail: kernel
Aaron
Got back into download mode.
Trying to flash I545VRUFNC5-AIO-incl-modem-hlos-nobootloaders-gogolie.tar again in the AP slot in odin.
Failed again.
Same Results as listed above.
now downloading the "The Complete Package - Absolutely everything you'll need in one .rar file."

You can't use OTA unless the phone is totally stock. You can upgrade by odin-flashing the no-wipe or full-wipe NC5 tar files that are in their own thread in the Android Development section

Use this full wipe file and follow Surge's instructions. If you're using Odin 3.10 and having trouble, try rolling back to 3.09

[Q] Update from 4.3 to 4.4.2? root removed. Backup actually backed up?

Hello. I have done quite a bit of searching, just can't find a similar enough post to tag on some questions. Sorry if this has been asked...but I did look over a month of posts, and google searching.
I have a Note 3 from September, rooted in October...not sure how I got it done...but I jumped the gun and unrooted it with SU thinking I would be able to OTA to 4.4.2. Nope!
So, I am stuck on 4.3.
My big question is how can I get to 4.4.2 with OUT starting over on the phone.
I guess this is a backup question. I have some settings turned on that indicate that a back up is going somewhere, but I can't confirm, and I don't know what all is backed up.
Pictures are backed up, but I would hate to lose them. They are on SD card anyway...so I realize I could take the card out, but something I read suggested I might lose even the micro-simm card contents. Not sure how that would be possible.
But what about things like Quick Notes, and S Note, and Contacts, and all of my apps that I have installed, and settings for those apps.
When I rooted back in October, it worked with out disrupting anything.
How can I get that to happen now WITH an upgrade to 4.4.2 AND getting it rerooted?
If I can't upgrade with out wiping it clean, I am probably going to stay put. So, then what is the best way to root to get "Wifi Tether Router" back working...as it is the only thing I need the phone rooted for.
Finally, what is the difference between NC5 and NC5D. I saw a recent post of somebody else asking it...but none of the replies gave an answer.
Thanks for any feedback.
I don't know if this will help, but you can give it a try. First, you might want to consider that you are where most of us are trying to get back to ( i.e. 4.3 with no KNOX !!! ). Ok, I would go to Samsung Firmware, and download the latest version of 4.4.2 NC5 to your PC. I would backup that copy of 4.3 on your device to your sdcard then if have an ext sdcard copy it there, or copy that backup to your pc. Most of your Pics and data should be in that backup, that you can copy back later with a file explorer like Root Explorer. Now do a factory wipe. Then take the NC5 zip you got from sammie and extract it to a file on your desktop this will change it to a .tar file. Find a copy of Odin v1.85 don't use the 3.09 version on the Samsung website if possible. Cool, reboot your device into download mode, start odin, plug in your device to your PC. Now, load that extracted file on your desktop into PDA odin, and click start. It will take minute to read Md5 then start installing. You will lose root and recovery !!! Your new bootloader will have KNOX 0x0. So, you will have to start over with the root process, but isn't that half the FUN !!! Chainfires v1.94 supersu will root NC5. As for the difference between NC5 and NC5D, It is my understanding they are the same. The D stands for a version of NC5 that was used by Samsung employees ( i.e. programmers and developers ) in the development of NC5. :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
Lokerd, I see you have read my response. Great!!! I would add the you can root 4.4.2 NC5 several ways. As I said above Chainfires v1.94 SuperSu, and One click autoroot, and Towelroot for 4.4.2. All should root your device without tripping KNOX. However, as soon as you flash a new custom recovery like TWRP or Philz CWM ( my favorite ) it will trip KNOX. If you are out of warranty no biggie, besides you need a custom recovery if you want to get back to your 4.3 backup. ( By the way remember you need the same recovery (i.e. TWRP or CWM ) that you made the 4.3 backup with, now on NC5 just a newer version. This will make it easier to recover the 4.3 backup later. They say the most popular recoveries will recover each others backups, but that is rarely the case.

Thanks for taking the time to reply! And to reply with such a nice well though out steps.
So...I should NOT being trying to upgrade? I can do that...just reroot and be done with this. I really don't want to risk having to lose info I have put on the phone, etc. A few new features is not going to be worth it. But, reading about improved 4g and wifi performance. Wifi calling is not important to me. But it would be nice to have the camera on the lock screen...but I bet I could find something that would do that the rooted phone I had.
So, let me ask this. If I do not care about KNOX, is the process you outlined above any easier?
Thanks!

Well, if you are out of warranty, and you don't care about KNOX go ahead and upgrade. But, consider this: One, so where clear the only reason for the 4.3 backup is to get to your pics and data at a later time. Here is a link about trying to go back http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2630514 Once you install 4.4.2 NC5 ( this will include a new kernel, bootloader, baseband, and OS ) you CANNOT go to back to 4.3. If you try to install the 4.3 backup after you have upgraded to NC5 you will soft brick your phone. Then, there's KNOX what is KNOX, KNOX is security software written by the NSA for Samsung. Now I'm not saying its spyware, but Samsung is !!! You can go to Samsung's website and all the info about KNOX you need is there.
To answer your last question, no. You have to go through all the motions.
If it was me, knowing what I know now. I would stay at 4.3, install an engineering bootloader (read up on bootloaders they are not forgiving if you mess up ) then try to upgrade basebands. Here is a link for NAB engineering bootloader which should be 4.3, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2655674 Here is the link for a NC5 baseband, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2701837 I believe this will improve your 4G lte.
Last, what I'm running. I run Note 3 "Sprint" 4.4.2 NC5 ( no choice bought the device new with that OS, voided my warranty the second day I owned it ). Rooted with Philz CWM recovery ( hltespr v 6.12.9 ) KNOX disabled and removed. I definitely like 4.4.2 NC5 a lot better than 4.3 my daughters Note 3 had 4.3 before I upgraded to 4.4.2 and rooted it. Here is my XDA website http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2770729 so if you do upgrade this is a good place to start.
Ok. Sorry for more noob questions.
Ok, the only thing I want to ensure is that I don't lose things like S Note, Action Memo, Contacts, Pictures, apps installed. I just don't want to redo everything. Basically, I just want to upgrade the operating system and have everything up and running like it was...just new OS. Is that possible? I understand what you are saying about not being able to use the back up. I guess I just don't understand if I can upgrade this phone with out having to start back over with everything.
I am not out of warranty (purchased October 2013), but I don't see that it would be a problem. I normally don't break or drop my phone...although I did drop it and picked up a nick a few weeks ago. It was unusual circumstances. Point is...I guess I will worry about warranty issues if that comes up. On the other hand, the home button is a getting a little finicky, so I avoid it...using swipe down, and a notification toggle to go to Home whenever possible.
I don't understand the difference between bootloader vs. flashing vs. upgrading basebands vs. rooting as opposed to those other things. it doesn't help that there are multiple ways to do each of the above.
I think I am in over myhead.
Can you help me figure out what I had done before...as it was working pretty good. I Rooted it to get root access, but not sure how I did it. It was easy, and it didn't erase anything. I think I simply used Odin. Attached is a screenshot of a folder of stuff that I might have used. Can you tell what root method I used?
I think I am just going to go back to what I had...and still with 4.3. I actually looked at my wife's identical phone that is on 4.4.2 and other than wifi calling, I don't see the camera on lock screen, so I don't really think I should be messing with stuff I can't wrap my mind around trying to get to 4.4.2.

Cool, your version of 4.3 should be NAB and no KNOX. If this is the case then you should be able to root, and return back to stock, if you have say a hardware issue with your device and have to return it under warranty. So, according to your last post image on 10/24/2013 you used CF Autoroot, if you want to read up here is the link to that http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2466423
Now to get to the latest version of CF Autoroot you need to go to ChainFires ( CF ) repository here is the link http://autoroot.chainfire.eu/ just find the model of your phone and click on File to download. Put that file on your desktop, now go to your android downloads copy and paste Odin v1.85 to your desktop. Click on Odin extract, and open it, now click on PDA a box will open, now select desktop and click on CF Auotroot. It should come up in Odin next to PDA. Now boot your device into download mode, then connect to your PC. In the upper left hand box will light up COMM: with some number in green, blue, or yellow doesn't matter just telling you that a connection was made. Now click start on the bottom of Odin, sit back and watch the magic!
When it says pass your done. Now reboot your phone if doesn't do it by itself go to your app drawer and see if SuperSu is there. To install the Recovery just follow the same steps just substitute the recovery .tar file in place of CF Autroot. I see you have ChainFires v1.65 SuperSu the latest version is v2.01 here is the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053. If you use CF Autoroot it will probably install the latest version of SuperSu automatically.
I see on 10/25/2013 you downloaded CWM recovery for hltespr ( sprint ) here is the link for Philz CWM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2596001 the latest version for sprint is 6.12.9 I don't use his unified all in one recovery version, I use the sprint version, but the choice is yours. :fingers-crossed:

Thanks for the continued help. Just about ready to reroot the thing.
So, you mention using 1.85...is that only because that is what I have? The latest CF-Auto-Root came with 3.07 but I had already downloaded 3.09 a couple of days ago trying to figure stuff out. I also saw a warning about using the latest Odin...but I think it applied to trying to do the Kindle Fire, which I determined was 3.3 and not able to be rooted with out a special cable, which I have ordered.
Anyway, does it matter if I use the 3.07 that came with the latest version of CF-A-R? Should I use 3.09? Or def stick with 1.85.
EDIT #5: I end up using 1.85 and the original Root, then the new ROOT. So, does it matter that I used the Root from October vs the newest one or older Odin vs. newer? I have it up now, so it is just a matter of tryingt o figure this out.
BTW, I thought I had bricked my phone...went back and read YOUR instruction again, and got it restarted. The instructions on the main CF-A-R thread do not make it very clear.
Thanks a bundle!
Great !!! It doesn't matter which version of Odin you use, as long as it gets the job done. As for CF Autoroot, after your done rooting and boot the device back up. It my take awhile but you will automatically be asked update your apps, and SuperSu will update binarys at that time.

[Q&A] [ODIN][TAR] I545VRUFNC5 Factory and No-Wipe Odin tars

Q&A for [ODIN][TAR] I545VRUFNC5 Factory and No-Wipe Odin tars
Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer.
Before posting, please use the forum search and read through the discussion thread for [ODIN][TAR] I545VRUFNC5 Factory and No-Wipe Odin tars. If you can't find an answer, post it here, being sure to give as much information as possible (firmware version, steps to reproduce, logcat if available) so that you can get help.
Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!
Just wanted to say, I used the No-Wipe tar to restore my phone's partitions via the Odin 3.09 from NG6 to NC5 - confirming.
I just ran through the process from the video on my verizon s4, using the full wipe md5 from the thread with no errors, everything went smooth, when it rebooted it went to vz slash, after that went to the "optimzing x of 22x" applications, when finished
I still had my old background
I could see my old applications in the background
Error box stating Unfortunately, the process com.andoid.systemui has stopped (click ok)
Error box stating Unfortunately, the process andoid.process.media has stopped (click ok)
clicked ok about 5-6 times and reboots to the same exact process
PLEASE HELP as I need my phone for work in the morning!
Thanks in advance
EDIT: I did a regular factory reset and it seems to be working now, not sure why the odin route went crazy on me
I'm happy to say that this full wipe method worked awesome for me, but now I have this Samsung custom padlock screen at boot. Any way to get rid of it?
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S4 using the XDA mobile app!!!
nc5 full wipe
I downloaded the pit file and the full vzw nc5 tar i get all the way to the end of install and odin 3.09 says fail, what could be causing this? trying to dump ng6 back to nc5 because i have to be able to set selinux to permissive.
I posted the following message in Surge's Odin tars thread on Wednesday but haven't had any replies yet. Realize now it's probably better posted over here anyway, plus I have an additional question to add to my original post.
Hi all!
My Verizon Galaxy S4 SCH-I545 is currently running Stock TW 4.3 Jellybean on MK2 rooted (with saferoot).
I'd like to finally bring it up to Kit Kat. My original plan, once I had a full day available to do this in case anything went wrong, was to simply unfreeze system apps and SDM, take the OTA, and then towelroot. Unfortunately, by the time I got this available day, Verizon's now pushing that pesky NG6 update which sounds like nothing but problems. So I'm looking for my easiest upgrade path to Kit Kat without having to wipe my phone unless absolutely necessary.
Option 1)
Since I never took the NC5 OTA and am still on 4.3 Jellybean MK2, will the OTA update that Verizon is now notifying me about (since I unfroze SDM) include only the NC5 update initially? Perhaps with the troublesome NG6 in a later second update I can easily decline? Or will it go right to NG6 with this 18 minute update that my phone is now notifying me about? Is there any way to tell before I actually install it? Perhaps download only and then look at the update file manually to verify which it is?
If it's indeed only NC5 for this update, then I could OTA to NC5, towelroot, and turn updates back off again, thereby preventing myself from reaching NG6. As I said, this is the route I was planning to take until news of the NG6 update rolled around.
Option 2)
Take Surge's no-wipe file from this thread and apply it through ODIN directly over my MK2 with Android 4.3, apply towelroot, and then freeze SDM again.
If I go this route, are there additional files I need to install after the no-wipe, such as the wifix-fix or SELinux-Permissive mode flashes I've read about? Will the no-wipe file update the bootloader to NC5, or leave it at MK2?
Option 3) <-- this is the new option I added to my considerations
Download the NC5 firmware update from SamMobile and follow the instructions here to update to NC5.
Like I asked above, would this be the equivalent of taking the NC5 OTA upgrade (had I done so before NG6 came out)? Is there any additional radios or anything that I need to install after? The instructions I linked above don't seem to indicate this to be the case.
Basically I'm looking for the smoothest upgrade path to get me to Kit Kat and Samsung's stock TW ROM (from Android 4.3 MK2). Whether I stay with MK2 bootloader or move to NC5 doesn't matter much to me at this point, so long as I can re-root and get back up fairly quickly without needing to reinstall everything. What do y'all suggest?
Thanks in advance for any advice, gotchas, and pointers in the right direction before I head down this road.
do not ota if your on Verizon
If your on Verizon be careful, if you like jelly bean stick with it verizons kit kat is buggy for most users, what ever you do DO NOT TAKE OTA unless you want ng6 if you need selinux permissive do not update to ng6 , I msde the mistake of ota ng6 and it really messed up my phone even changing screens to do odin full wipe if I press any buttons to bring up the custom load screen the update failed I had to just let it boot to a screen that said connect to kies and do an emergency repair how ever once I figured that out the pit and tar from this thread worked fine in 4 easy steps. ...but beware once again verizon and kit kat are buggy and ng6 us even worse. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply.
Hubby's running Kit Kat NC5 on his S4 and hasn't had any problems with it. I actually kind of like some of the additional things it adds and am beginning to feel a bit left behind still running Jellybean.
I just don't want to have to wipe my phone to get there as I haven't got the time or patience to go through reconfiguring everything how I like it.
Do you know what's the difference between the options 2 and 3 I posted, i.e. using the tars posted by Surge in this thread vs the tars from SamMobile?
reply
Before I flashed my phone I also looked at your option 3 but after 4 hours of sleep in 48 hrs I went with surges option as his instructions were very simple and clear and were relevant to odin 3.09 and his option worked just as well as my original factory ota both have the same bugs on my phone so my opinion is it is a good file. Im not qualified to be able to give you an answer as to the differences between surges files and sam mobile files but I suspect they are the same. As far as kit kat and verizons bugs I have 4 galaxy s4's all bought on the same day and all the same but 3 are buggy and 1 runs perfect. If you dont need selinux the ng6 is easy to root and does and some new features and benefits BUT dont take the ota yet cause it has some serious issues Samsung says Verizon corrupted it and Verizon says "what problem its a third party app" but a new update should be just a few weeks away , this is all I've gotten out of about a million posts on more sites than I can remember, hope it helps.

Sammobile gets the Odin tars the same way I do. They are the same files, although last I checked sammobile doesn't retrieve the full wipe Odin tars (Factory Odin tar) so theres that I guess. Use whichever you feel comfortable with.
Thanks Bob & Surge!
I'm going IN! Kit Kat HERE I COME! LOL
Thanks again for the confirmations and reassurances. On the off-chance that I have issues and have to do a full wipe, I've got an semi-open day tomorrow... nothing I can't put off for a day if I need to spend extra hours getting my phone back where I want it. Just trying to avoid that if possible.
PS going in with Surge's no-wipe tars.
Successful downgrade but errors afterwards
I was able to successfully downgrade from NG6 to NC5 but after reboot and the phone started there were android processes that kept popping up saying they weren't responding.
Error box stating Unfortunately, the process com.andoid.systemui has stopped (click ok)
Error box stating Unfortunately, the process andoid.process.media has stopped (click ok)
I really would hate to do a full wipe because I had to get a new phone do to other issues and basically start over. Is there any other explaination to why these processes keep popping up, I can't function the phone with them in the way?
If I use the nc5 no wipe on mk2 will it update like an ota and keep my apps and setting just need to reroot
Anyone ^^^^
Thanks for the help.

full wipe
I had similar issue's ...I had to do a full wipe but I couldn't do the typical power button volume button to reset my phone every time I did I had failures or other weird stuff happened, I had to do a full wipe with odin then let me phone reboot touching no buttons then a screen came up saying something about loading custom software or something similar then I plugged my phone back into my computer and hit start again in odin and it flashed and worked fine but my phone was to a point that it would no longer boot up.
Worked like a charm!
Exactly what I was looking for - rolled back to the last decent version (1545VFUFNC5) and back to being rooted to boot with towelroot. Hooray my phone doesn't reboot every 5 minutes! Thanks so much!!!
Phone reboots
Why does my phone reboot when plugged into a usb port on my computer? I have tried different computers but same result. The computer starts to recognize my phone then it restarts and continues rebooting until I unplug it. I have it rooted through towelroot if that helps anyone come up with an idea. Thanks in advance.
So I'm trying to fix this damn s4 my friends kid attempted to root it using towelroot and messed it up somehow. As soon as I get it booted I get "unfortunately, the process com.android.systemui has stopped. I've tried factory reset with no luck. I think this is my last option. I thought maybe I could flash a recovery through Odin and flash a stock Rom from there. Or should I just go ahead with the full wipe? The build number is NC5 and android version 4.4.2.
