Using this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2725930, The same thing I used to deodex my Galaxy S3 When it got Kitkat, it is again successful with this device.
What it does?
Removes .odex files from your system and replaces the apks in /app /framework and /priv-app with deodex apks, making everything easier to theme.
How to use it:
Download the linked zip file on your PC or phone, transfer it to your phones internal or external storage, boot into recovery and flash The zip.
Disclaimer - I am in no way responsible if this bricks your phone, it worked perfectly For me. If you have a different variant, go to the original thread linked above, and follow those directions. And make sure you have a backup in case you don't like it or something goes wrong. Also, I am not a developer, so this will not become a stock ROM unless someone uses The system files to make their own, use of this is completely okay without my permission.
Credits:
LG for a very nice stock ROM
AndikaTedja the tool used to complete this process
The original developer of the tool he modified, I'm not sure who it is right now.

Not a ROM, it just flashes The deodexed files over The current apks in The /app, /framework and /priv-app directories in the system.

Thanks for that, I read that already. I was hoping for a little more clarity. I have never deodexed a ROM before and didn't know if wiping dalvik or anything was common knowledge. But I think by the copy and pasting you did I got the point.

I personally don't flash zips the size of a ROM without doing a full wipe. If it were just an app or mod of some sort I would recommend just wiping cache and dalvik.

Hopefully it will help get some development going. Once I get my hands on it I am going to look at doing some theme work to it. Did see where a couple of people said it seemed to be running smoother, if that's the case then that is a plus.

Backup the app onto your sdcard using say, Titanium Backup (App only option), then log onto XDA developers via your Browser and attach the backup onto a new post in this thread?

From your phone, download and use Root Explorer ( root explorer costs money from market but get apk from google) and go to system>app> and find the apk, COPY it and paste it to your sdcard, then upload it

Had the problem of parsing too. Mine was a bad download. Could also be that your setting for install from unknown sources isn't checked too under security.

That's not the launchers doing. You would need to wait until there is a ROM available that's 4.4

You don't need root. Just put them in data/media or ext SD in folders Alarms/Notifications/Ringtones .. the only ones you wont be able to use is ui.

Hey everyone. I just updated to 4.4.2 KitKat and realized it ruins my SD card. The only fix I see is for it to be rooted. Has there been a root for 4.4.2?

This is in the wrong section, but you mean to say your stock and took the OTA update? If so just go to a verizon store since THEIR update broke the phone, I would argue that even if its outside of warranty your phone was working fine before their update was released.
Sorry if this is in the wrong spot. I guess I should clarify what I meant by ruin. I just meant I can't save to it anymore.
