hello,
I have two chinese phones, here is the specs :
Hardware : MT6572
Model : hexing72_wet_lca
Build number : MTK6589
Build date UTC : 20131024-080229
Android v : 4.2.2
Baseband v: MOLY.WR8.W1315.MD.WG.MP.V1.P2, 2013/07/16 14:44
Kernel v : 3.4.5 ([email protected]) (gcc version 4.6.x-google 20120106 (prerelease) (GCC) ) #1 SMP Thu Oct 24 15:48:45 CST 2013

I have a full ROM backup (I can make it available if you want). I'm playing around with one of them. I formatted the phone and then downloaded the ROM again.
To do so, I've root the phone and backup it with MtkDroidTool, then make a scatter file for SP Flash Tool and download it to the phone with SPFT 3.14.
Now the baseband is missing and the SIM isn't detected. I know it's a quite common problem on Chinese phone after flashing new ROM, but can't find a solution to restore it. So I hope someone here can help me
I tried to backup the NVRAM from the working phone and restore it on the other one but this doesn't restore Baseband.
I also manually restored the /protect_f and /protect_s folder content. This doesn't help.
So I'm wondering where the baseband is stored on the phone and why it's not restored with the ROM.
Any hints are welcome.
Ha and sending the phone back to customers service isn't a solution

Hi I am new to the scene.
I purchased what I thought was a HTC One M7 here in China. After playing with it for a while and figuring out that my bootloader screen looked completely different and was all in Chinese. It was a fake and I figured out it is actually a MT6589.
I ran the latest MTK droid Root&Tools v2.4.8 and this is the Phone information:
Hardware : MT6589 (UNKNOWN is Fake!)
Model : HTC_One
Build number : ALPS.JB2.MP.V1.2
Build date UTC : 20130626-085222
Android v : 4.2.1
Baseband v: MOLY.WR8.W1248.MD.WG.MP.V6.P5, 2013/06/19 17:12
Kernel v : 3.4.5 ([email protected]) (gcc version 4.6.x-google 20120106 (prerelease) (GCC) ) #1 SMP Wed Jun 26 16:48:30 CST 2013
Uboot build v : -----
LCD Driver IC : 1-qw010_hq08_shengbao_nt35590
Screenshots from Vellamo Attached
I have rooted the device. So my question is: Is there a ClockworkMod for this device available?
I saw other MT6589 devices on the forum with CWMs http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2370987 but I don't know if it will work on my device.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks Canabino

you can find a CWM recovery on NEEDROM (search for my name)
HTC like stock rom.
Can u please give your stock rom backup? And screen shots of your rom?
Please, i can port your rom to my device and i will give credits for your rom.
Hello.
My hocus pocus with S4 clone named GT-i9500 ended in soft brick.
Unfortunately, before my testing, what this clone can handle, I didn't checked net, that exist correct stock rom for my model.
Luckily, I made a MTK droid backup.
Unluckily, I can't download whole backup back into the phone. I mean, I can flash basic files to phone, but not system files. I can enter 3e recovery and that's all.
System files, was backed up (by MTK droid tools) into system directory which have about 400MB. So I don't know, why system.ubifs.img file(created also MTK droid tools) has only 2MB.
This is probably reason, why phone won't start. I suspect, that it is by fake free space showed in storage menu...But it's only speculation.
So my question is, if is here any android specialist, which can recompile my system folder into system.img file, which I can flash via flashtool.
That skill is beyond my ability.
My backup is here:

ive got the same errors
I have tried almost everything to root this stupid phone. It has really made me mad. Everything I try ends up with an error. I tried mtkdroid tools and it said that I have a ubifs file system or something and thus the phone wasnt rooted. Then I tried root genius and got an error: 'Your phone is too solid too root'. Then I tried motochopper and although it was the first one to install superuser, all I got was the error : SU binary could not be installed or something. Please help me root this phone. I really need to remove the bloatware because I cant install more than three apps ( Yes that is how low the internal storage is) . I also want to try and get a rom for this which isn't so slow and sluggish with all the fake info etc. Here's what mtk droid tools shows :
Hardware : MT6589
Model : SM-G900H
Build number : ALPS.JB7.MP.V1.14
Build date UTC : 20141127-031750
Android v : 4.4.4

Please I'm begging you I need to root this phone. It's the only phone I have and I can't afford to buy a new one. PLEASE HELP ME!
Friends,
I got this phone to me from a friend to block the pop-up ads and auto updates and auto installtions of unwanted software in this phone. I tired a lot but could not find the original ROM for this phone through out the web. I have connected the phone to PC and when I accessed the phone using MTK DROIDTOOLS, the info shown in that window is as follows.
Hardware : MT6582 (MT8382 is Fake!)
Model : Genius Talk T4
Build number : MT83X2_MR590_MR5902H1CW1.2014053010
Build date UTC : 20140530-020854
Android v : 4.2.2
Baseband v: MOLY.WR8.W1315.MD.WG.MP.V18, 2013/11/29 20:19
Kernel v : 3.4.5 ([email protected]) (gcc version 4.6.x-google 20120106 (prerelease) (GCC) ) #1 SMP Fri May 30 10:03:00 HKT 2014
Uboot build v : -----
LCD Driver IC : 1-hx8389b_dsi_vdo
Except the LCD driver IC, since almost all the info reveals as per GIONEE P4, I tried to install that OS in this mobile and then it got soft-bricked.
Request the developers based on the MTKDROIDTOOLS info, to please provide me a better solution where I can flash through the PC.. (not through SD Card as the mobile is in OFF condition.
