blockbuster app working on unrooted 1.2.6
Hi i was actually i think the first to the the blockbuster app working on my Atrix. i was on stock 1.2.6 unrooted and i was able to watch ondemand blockbuster movies, they sent me 3 $5 credits twords future rentals, used one to try it out and worked great, signing up on the actual site was kinda confusing but not that bad. but back to the point, i just today used the gladix program, to root, and now it says it says "detected device rooted" cannot play certian types of video(dont know what that is , or means). havent tried renting yet with root.
Can't download movies if are rooted - we think

I think that if the Blockbuster site detects that you have rooted your phone, it won't allow you to download the movies. I read about someone who rooted and then unrooted before the first update, and Blockbuster still gave him that message. Movies would not download. However, after this 2nd update for the Atrix software, he no longer got that message, and the movies did download. He wasn't rooted again, though.
Movies don't play over HDMI cable?
I'm not rooted and did download a movie from Blockbuster to try it out. Rather than watch in on my phone, though, I wanted to use the HDMI cable to watch it on the TV screen. However, I got an error message and the movie would not play.
Has anyone else experienced this? Are they only allowing the viewing on the handset itself?
That doesn't seem fair, if you paid for the movie. What is the HDMI cable for, anyway? If I download a movie to my computer, I can use an HDMI cable to show the movie on the TV. Shouldn't this be the same?
Could someone post the apk, please? I've got a BB account and wanted to throw the app on my captivate. The market link above results in an error.
Horray for ginger bread!
anyone ever find a good source for this apk ?
How to use HDMI cable to show movie ??? if i download movie to my PC
Guys I own a unrooted optimus one with stock firmware 2.2.2 My problem is after a few hours of usage.. the stock video player on my optimus one shows an error "the contents of this video cannot be played". It happens in some 524x384 videos and mostly in 640x360. At the same instance Mobo Player (hardware decoding) would also stutter and fail to play the file. After that If I restart my phone and run those videos all would play very smoothly (even media files above 1 GB & video files of 720x480). But after a gud 12-13 hrs of brief usage of my phone(mostly internet usage 7 few calls) again the error would show up ruining my video viewing experience. But videos in 320x240 would play ?
What is the reason for this error ? Any possible solution.
Note- I kept a minimal list of apps(5-6), used stock LG launcher, killed all tasks & cache files thinking it would solve the issue but the problem still persists !!
I am afraid you wont be able to solve this problem without rooting.
Its due to less VM heap size.

You will have to edit the dalvik.vm.heapsize value in /syatem/build.prop

many many thanks buddy 4 coming out with a solution for my problem. I will surely be doing it next week when my engineering exams get over and inform you the results. but till then please answer some of my last queries. what is dalvik.vm & why does it need to new edited ? what is its default or current value ? and what does 48m mean ? u see I previously owned an optimus gt540 and never faced such issues..so these questions are likely to pop up in my mind. please clarify if possible. once again thanks from the bottom of, my heart for resolving my issue.

Hi
Firstly u have to root ur phone in order to rid off this situation, u can root through gingerbreak (search on xda). when rooting is done ur phone restarts and then install busybox from market.open this app. click install. when status is done. install VMhealtool search on xda. the default vm(Virtual Memory) size is 24 change it to 48 and then reboot ur phone. Now install Mobo player and mobo codec from market. and open mobo player goto the menu check soft decoeding option. and its done . U can now play videos through mobo. u can even play 720p video(1280x688) with out any convertion but its lags. so use xvid4psp video convert software for best playing videos on ur LG P-500.
CLick thanks if i help u..
Bhawan
thanks a ton bhawan ! u really made my day. now I understand its because of people like xda is so popular. ur explanation is very detailed and cleared all my queries regarding this issue. thank u so much bro!
Last night I downloaded the update for my Atrix and while for the most part i enjoy the new looks and such, however now among other things none of my music files will play, which are mp3 files, even ones I had previously downloaded, says this file type isn't supported on the phone, and I cannot get pandora or any streaming music player to work, it loads up like its going to start then says it can't connect to the servers or just stays stuck loading.
I previously had my phone rooted with gingerbreak, so I don't know if that caused any problems, but any help could on how i can fix this because I honestly have no idea what the problem is, because even the new AT&T music player for internet radio doesn't load the music.
Is it possible for me to uninstall the update or do I have to unroot my phone? I'm quite frustrated at this point because I've tried changing settings and tried to download different music players all to no avail.
In my sig there is an app called build.prop editor. Have to be rooted. Open app 1. Click open build.prop
2. Tap build.prop and look for the files that say stagefright.xxx.xxx. change false to true. Save and reboot.
Mot.stagefright.xxx
Or its ro.stagefright.xxx
Change all the ones with the words stagefright to true
I have cm7 now so I don't have those files to tell you the correct full filename
I'm looking at staying on Froyo on my Bell Atrix more and more as each day goes by.
GB on the Atrix seems like more of a headache than its worth...

I downloaded the app, however when I try to backup it says failed, and then when I tried to click on build.prop, it also says its failed.
I also found out now that I cannot watch youtube on my phone either.
So i'm back at square one it seems. Is there any other solutions that you or anybody may know of or am i stuck doing a factory reset?
When you open the app does it ask for superuser permission? If it doesn't then you have a root issue.

Not at all, If you know what your doing its great. 90% of the issues with gingerbread are caused by the user.

No it didn't ask for superuser permissions which i did think was weird. I had originally used GingerBreak to root my phone and other things had asked for it but your program didn't.
Do you have any suggestions on how/what i should do next? Try re running gingerbreak? factore reset?
also i appreciate the help thus far
No gingerbreak wont work on gingerbread.

How to retain/regain root going from 2.2.2 to 2.3.4
When the last OTA update came out I used the before and after update batch files method that I found here - running the before update then just installed it and ran the afterupdate.bat and I was done. I am now rooted with system v4.1.83 Android v2.2.2 and started getting the update messages.
Usually I wait until one of the devs here has a successful tested method and posts instructions / follow them and donate to whoever I was helped by but haven't found anywhere in the threads that describes exactly how to do this. Is there a new method for handling this out yet? Thanks -gs
Hi,
I've search everywhere to find a solution but cant find one so im making this post so anyone can help me. I just flash 4.2.2 custom rom from my device which came from 4.1.2 custom rom. the problem is, when using my mobile data connection, downloading in market with 10mb higher, i get this 413 error. i tried downloading lower than 10mb and it works ok. also, i cant watch any videos online. it keeps on loading but not playing at all using my mobile data connection. i dont have any issues with browsing internet and my mobile data connection is ok, only downloading large file from market and watching videos online is my concern.
Very much appreciated.
Thanks
Update:
I tried reverting it to my previous 4.1.2 custom rom and all are working. i can watch video online and download large file from market.

The questions says it all, I was just wondering if you could disable the stock music and the stock video apps on the P769. Reason I want to do this is because these two apps impede on my daily use. When someone tried to send me a YouTube link via Facebook messenger, it went to the Videos app and it couldn't open the actual video. I had to manually go on my computer to see the video. It's annoying! So is there any consequences if I just disable these apps or uninstall them via Titanium Backup? Thanks!

I believe video streamer can be disabled but do not remove videos. Apk unless you want to learn how to recover from a security error. Can't music be disabled too?

Hmm, so it can't be just disabled? I'm talking about the normal videos and music application bundled with the ROM.
Settings apps all you can disable all music but not videos or streaming player.

Recovery from Security Error on Lg optimus l9 p769
[Help].. I'm stuck at the "security error" screen of my lg p769, after I rooted it and tried to flash cm 10, which didn't work as I planned, when I rebooted the phone cm10 wasn't installed, and the screen had this pinkish shade/tint, and I could barely see the icons and letters, I decided to do a factory reset, and after it rebooted, and loaded up the "security error" screen. It will help a lot if I could get guidelines on how to recover from this situation thanks
