What is the possibility of porting sweet Lollipop to our little monster?? Edit : so the ans is somework has been done by quietly for I9100G you can learn about it in 2nd page!! and for I9100 there port has been started.
Probably the same as cm11. There is lack of drivers GPU for cm11 and same will be with cm12. So forget about flawly interface if would be drivers for mali from sgs2 it should be fine

So all smoothness of material design will have hiccups?
when will have it on our devices?
i've heard that the difficiulty of root lolipop....
Cm 12 will be when lollipop full code will be relased by google for now android lollipop is in final developer stage so in November should be official relaese but for s2 who knows

Seriously? we don't even have the source yet, but you want to know when you'll have the software on your device. Well, no one here is a prophet, so you're gonna have to wait and see how it pans out.
We're gonna have to wait for some good amount of time.
The Android L will be given to the flagship models first, and then us.
But I'm sure that teams like NeatRom will definitely have something in store for us a little sooner as S2 is still an active device for them.
Let's hope we get the lollipop sooner.
Knowing cyanogenmod, they will release builds (monthly snapshots) months after they release the first m snapshot for nexus devices.

I m talking abt ports not build from source .... Can it be done a bit earlier than frm source?? Everyone wants to lick ASAP, don't they??

I read cyanogenmod won't bother much about android 5, and wait for it to be completely finished by Google before making new rom. In the meantime they would continue with KitKat in order to make it more stable.
Nevertheless they wanna keep an eye on Android 5 and get some good features from it.

Great to hear from you! Welcome to this community!
Lollipop, we r waitin' 4 ya!
SGS II (GT - I91000 ) : No CM 11 M12 ?
Well as of now the chances look bleak, the nightlies seem to have stopped from 08th Nov and today we did not have a M12 build. Hoping against hope that this is not the end of road for GT-I9100.
hope for i9100G
Galaxy Nexus just got AOSP lollipop, so there's hope for i9100G which uses the same soc

omni rom is searching for an active maintainer for the devices which they are supporting now if some devs are interested from our side there's a good chance ... Fingers crossed

here is what has been done to our little monster .... forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/development/gt-i9100g-omnirom-4-4-nightly-builds-t2527350/page79 jiyangyi is rocking!! and from ryuinferno's post we can guess he will be back to development after his exams.... now it seems that i9100g is far ahead than i9100 .... http://imgur.com/2dxtqpH you can see ril and wifi already working!!
I have to ask something - are you all so happy with KitKat builds for the S2 that you want Lollipop? The last stable Cyanogenmod build is 10.1.3 (JB 4.2.2) from September 2013, which is what I am running now, and am finally happy with the way my S2 is working - have got almost 36 hours out of it with light to moderate use (and a new original battery). Before that I tried various more recent builds of CM, Paranoid Android and maybe some others, which all suffered from the same problems: drastically increased battery use (including with the new battery) and frequent crashes (random resets and crashes, particularly problems with the camera). Now I have rolled back to 4.2.2 it's all fixed - it's too much of a coincidence.
So what is to say Lollipop won't have the same problems on S2, or have others not had these issues running Android versions above 4.2.2 on the S2?

Just saw the news of the project ART, to replace the Dalvik machine with pre-compilation of the code...It allows for much faster execution. Maybe the most advanced phones won't see that much of an improvement, but I think for a S2 it could give back all it's life and power. What do you guys think?
http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/1...-in-secret-for-over-2-years-debuts-in-kitkat/
Hmm i thing if s2 will be upgrated official than this features will be awsome but if our phone get only CM this feature doesnt seem to be integrated. For now this project is still not official and could be unstable even on phones with official 4.4 for now. But in the further future who knows...

I think ART will be great in a few months, once Google iron out the bugs it will be great.. stick with dalvik for now

Why so negative all the time? Would you want to get rid of your Z Ultra? I will pay you if you are willing to ship it to one of the developers who are developing blind for this device.

You have no idea whom you are talking to, nor what i have done. I've already, months ago, suggested to mods that i set up a bounty for €200 for whomever first develops a fully working, no bugs that i can find, stock-based 5.0 or 5.1 rom. They said "offering money for services is not supported on this Developer's site". I have found and narrowed down the cause of problems that even sony's engineers haven't noticed. I have provided *solutions* that they rejected. If i'm "negative" for pointing out issues and facing situations in a practical way, then yeah, call me negative, i don't mind. I've posted on sony forums... noone replied except a sony support member who said that they have never heard of that problem. "lol". When i posted the same thing on reddit, check out what happened.

...well... the SONY devs might not even be working tomorrow. Who knows.. SONY in Lund is in the beginning of its end. Things are being moved to Japan
but on topic yes I agree with you. The SONY devs are the most ignorant idiots of programmers I have ever seen.
They insists on keeping on with using these sketchy unknown file hosts sites which throttles the down speed and in the beginning it was Uploaded.. they never reply to your posts...they are ignorant..and they open new threads here on XDA and writes "coming soon" ...like wtf!?
And when they have posted the link on their new thread there is like one line of description of what the thread is about
CyanogenMod is a free, community built distribution of Android 5.0 which greatly extends the capabilities of your phone.

I can say what you need, but I am a noob, I don't know that is right
You need:
Kernel Source
FlymeOS source
Open GL libraries for Z Ultra
Open CL libraries for Z Ultra
Open MAXAL libraries for Z Ultra
Open VG libraries for Z Ultra
ALSA libraries and usr files for Z Ultra
DirectX libraries for Z Ultra
Hardware modules from Z Ultra
Libraries for the Z Ultra hardware (srsprocessing.so,...)
You must Port your mixer_paths.xml for FlymeOS
All librariescan you find in all roms for Z Ultra

As is my sister phone I need a stable (all working) Rom.

CyanogenMod 13
Hello and thank you for using Q&A,
you can try CyanogenMod 13. If she do not need Snapchat, it is the best ROM for our Samsung Galaxy S3. It is quit fast and all is working, expect Snapchat. Instagram video upload is not working too.
If you want this features, you should try a Stock-Based ROM:
Galaxy S III Android Development
There are some great ROMs, which are based on the newest Stock-ROM (Androıd 4.3). If you install CyanogenMod 13, you will have the newest Android Version 6.0.1 and all the new security updates from 01 Februar 2016. For me, AOSP or CyanogenMod based ROMs are the best!
But, if all features should work, stock is the best. Battery life of CyanogenMod 13 is not the best.
Kind regards
Trafalgar Square
So cm13 breaks only video recording or even camera?
As she use a lot photos and video, any idea for a tweaked and a light stock based?
PS I've a 1+2 and couldn't believe to see even here ??

I've used plenty of them. If you are looking for something stable I suggest go on either cm11 or slimkat. Carbon is pretty good too. The best battery performance was on slimkat for me.
If you want some freshness i suggest using cm12 (lollipop 5.1) by archi . Avoid 5.0.x ROMs cause they seem to have many bugs that fixed on 5.1.2

You mean the "Can't connect to Camera" bug?
I'd get CM11+Boeffla Kernel (NG)
It seems to be the most stable for me, I'm not using it though

Depends on the developer, Trafalgar Square iirc developed a ROM with doze working in it
I enabled Doze in my AICP ROM and it's working good. I have this enabled on my Galaxy Note 2 too.
I know is a big deal between price/specs but is not listened anymore at official webpage, don't know if they are re-stocking and If there's a rom stable without battery drains. thanks
I bought this phone in September 2016. I paid about 300$ and i don't regret spending money on it. Only issue i have is that I have 32GB version so only about 25gb is for my using. Phone works smooth and without any lags. I installed Small EUI v15 ROM and no battery drain or smth like this. I have mobile data turned on whole day when i'm at work, and after 11h still have around 45% of battery with moderate using.
I bought mine about a month ago on ebay, spent $220. I honestly wanted the le pro 3 since that one has OTA updates, but it costed a bit more. I dont regret my choice though, phone works great and i installed cuoco's rom which is updated regularly. There's also a lot of development if you like switching roms.

Hello. Use willmyphonework www service.
It’s unfortunate Samsung decided to leave their flagship smartphone out of the fun with Android P beta.
Do you think we will see an unofficial Android P beta any time soon. There was a story about a device receiving a unofficial build with DP1, what are the chances? Any developers working on it

I would not expect to see it unless you are on the Exynos version. And even then.... Prolly not.
Forget about it. As in the past: You will receive Android 9 from Sammy after 9.1 will be released by Google. Final version of P will be released together with Pixel 3, so I speculate that nothing will happen until 03/2019...
Probably have a better chance at winning the lottery lol
I think end of October some CSC will get a beta P test, like on S7 and on S8.
Final version mid or end of Q1 2019.
I would assume if it says "beta" in it we wouldn't get it until it's a final version at least.
I have it (android P) on my Pixel 2 and have to say, meh...nothing special. Horisontal recent apps are harder to handle, more colorful, clock on left side. Only good things are new font and turn phone face down to do not disturb auto. Stick to 8.0 on sammy and enjoy
