Model Number: SCH-I605
Operating System: Android 4.4.2
Build: KOT49H.I605VRUFND7

I am not able to flash a Custom Recovery (CR.) I have tried to flash a CR by using the app methods: goo manager, rom manager, rashr, rom toolbox. I have also tried flashing 3 versions of TWRP via Odin which failed and sent my phone in a boot loop. I have tried to install twrp v2.6.0.0 - v2.7.20 via the aforementioned apps and cwm 3 or 4 times
After the flash is successful, it does not boot into recovery. Instead, it tries to boot only to get stuck at the device model screen and then it shuts off. Every time I flash a CR, I get stuck at the phone model screen after boot and have to re-flash I605VRUFND7_I605VZWFND7_VZW in order to get back into touchwiz.
I am able to root my phone with ghetto root v1.
Any ideas on how to flash a Custom Recovery?

You can't. You have to unlock the bootloader to install a custom recovery. 4.3 mj9 and up bootloaders haven't had an unlock method. You also can't downgrade the bootloaders.
I was under the impression the Verizon Note 2 baseband was already unlocked

I've been trying to find an answer on this forum and on google but I cannot find anyone with a problem similar to mine.
All of a sudden after trying to update CWM, (failed), I cannot go into recovery anymore.
I know the button combinations and have previously done it before but now it just vibrates and displays the Samsung logo.
If I try and use an app to boot into recovery mode it soft bricks the phone I believe (does not boot and I have to get it into download mode to
flash the system.img).
Does this mean that I have no recovery?
Yes. It means you have no recovery. I would suggest flashing TWRP with Odin.

I tried to flash TWRP using Odin but after the Check status, Odin is crashing and force closes. I tried installing CWM but the progress bar seems like it is stuck on 0%.
I'm not quite sure how to fix this. I am trying to install CM10 but this is the first android I have had.
It's rooted but everything is stock. I am not sure if I need a custom kernel also.
Is your phone a Canadian version? There's an extra step needed when you flash a custom recovery.
It's just an American version
try this and flash cwm-touch-i717-120414.tar.md5 with odin if twrp does not work, then download the updated zip from twrp and flash that via recovery. unless u just want to keep cwm touch.
ODIN + CWM Touch or TWRP
I have Safestrap up and running again but I'm wondering how can you install other recoveries like TWRP and CWM so I can boot directly into the custom recovery without a splashscreen I believe it's called (newbie here). I followed instructions online with GooManager for TWRP and ROM Manager for CWM but neither will actually boot into the custom recovery.
In GooManager after it says the TWRP recovery has been installed, it will reboot but then take me to the downloading boot screen and say "could not do a normal boot." What's with that? I actually had to use ODIN again to flash the stock ROM back (I tried this three times to no avail...)
And for CWM it says it successfully flashed in ROM Manager but when I actually reboot into recovery, whether it be from the app or manually, it will just boot into the stock Android recovery. I don't get it...
What am I doing wrong and/or is my phone not compatible with these recoveries?
Specs:
Verizon Galaxy S4
Android 4.3
Build MK2
Kernel MK2
Also are there any other recoveries that might work with my phone?
Thanks!
....
Bootloader is locked and custom recovery can't be installed on newer/updated S4. Do some reading to find out what is and is not possible with a locked bootloader.

Hello,
I followed this post to root and install TWRP recovery on my Sprint Samsung Note 3. The root procedures went well, showing rooted successfully. However, I installed TWRP recovery using GooManager, and also tried installig through Odin.
It shows that TWRP recovery is successfully installed, but I am not able to boot into recovery. The phone seems to try to boot into TWRP for ever.....
Later I read this post, which says that Do not try on Android 4.4.2 KitKat firmware!
IS my issue due to my rooting and installing TWRP are based on 4.4.2 (my phone is having new NC5 OTA update)? How shall I do?
Thank you very much for your helps!!!
Did you fiqure it out

You should be suing TWRP 2.7.0.1 and do not use goo manager.. Go to their site and click on the alternate download.. I do believe TWRP mentioned they disable the goo manage download because of issues.. Make sure you are also choosing the right phone.. I have choosing the wrong phone more than once.. Also when your done flashing in odin, and you reboot into recovery manually, make sure you wait until you see the line about recovery, before you release the 3 buttons, or you will just boot into your desktop.. Also you can use TWRP on KItKat firmware as many have done so..
Hi guys i cant install a custome recovery in my samsung galaxy grand prime sm-g530h with odin(versions 3.0.7, 3.0.9, 3.10.7) android 5.0.2, baseband G530HXXU2BOK3, kernel version3.10.49-1006642, im using windows 8.0 .
when a tried to install a custome recovery in order to install root and a custom rom i used odin 3.10.7 and all went smooth no errors in odin but when my device reboot and i tested if the custome recovery it did installed the stock recovery from android <3e> appeared, and i tried to install it with the stock recovery but it semms that it only works for samsung signed packages, itried to install differents recoverys but none of them installed.
If anyone can help me a will apreciate it from the bottom of my hearth
Thanks
Install the recovery again using Odin, this time after installation let the phone boot completely....then restart it into recovery.
The same happened with me too.
We just need to be patient xD
Hope it helps.
The trick is to reboot to recovery BEFORE it boots into the OS, otherwise there is a script that will rewrite the stock recovery back to the phone. Once you flash a rom or SuperSU zip, it will disable the script and allow TWRP to remain.
Hello! My Rooted Note sm-n900p note 3 has been happy with its custom ROM, but when I tried to boot into recovery mode yesterday the recovery booting screen would pop up and then the phone would shut off and then reboot into recovery mode and then repeat the loop. The only way I can boot the phone back into its normal boot sequence is to use ODIN, flash a new bootloader (I am using OUDHS-CWM-Test-hltespr-1.0.3.6.tar) and then the phone will restart normally. The phone BOOTS FINE into its normal operating mode and works completely fine. I am trying to find a way to boot into recovery and end this weird Recovery Mode Bootloop.
I should note that I have tried to boot into recovery with CWM and Flashify to no avail. I am ready to just use ODIN to install a new rom to see if that works but I wanted to consult the pros (you guys) before doing anything potentially damaging to my phone.
Use TWRP version 2.8.7.0 and get the Odin version and flash it
