Does anyone know what the eff this bs is all about? Think complaining to T-Mobile will do anything? This is beyond pathetic. Have any of you guys experienced these wonderful data speeds?

yeah when I first got the phone the data speeds were terrible from my house. they have gotten better I just tested and saw 15mbps which is decent but at work I see 50mbps easy. maybe there is problem with cell towers near you. I would call and complain . they usually issue a credit if your speeds are that bad.

The thing is those are my speeds everywhere. The lte tests were at school and the 4g one was at home. I almost feel like I'm being throttled since I use approximately 10 gigs on average a month sometimes less but still something fishy is going on .

You failed to mention what data plan you have with TMO. If you went over ,of course, you can expect to be throttled
From what i remember tmo doesn't throttle you when you do speed test...... since they want their results to be up there so those are not throttled speeds but what you are actually getting

Didn't mean to offend you, but we all have unlimited. Some plans are 1 gig before they throttle, some are 5 gig and so on. Then some people pay for unlimited high-speed data. That was my only point.

Not surprised.
Where are these people doing speed tests? I RARELY get under 15-20 down. Is Chicago just that much faster than these other city's? I mean my best ever was 42 down at like 3am. Even my hsdpa+ tmobile incredible s would 4-6 down.

Lucky you guys, mine varies from 4 mb/s to 8. At work its a bit faster at 12 mb/s, really rare when it reaches over 15. When 4G was new in my home area, it was averaging at 18 mb/s, almost 5 times faster than now. IDK why it took a dump, can't complain but i miss the faster speeds.
I'm not real surprised at the poor showing by the nexus.
A couple of my coworkers bought the nexus and I can't believe what a chintzy POS that phone is. If it didn't have ICS, nobody would give it a second glance.

I go from 20 megs down to this depending on where I am at in the city. Very rarely do I get below 20 megs down.
This test below was taken inside the mall and was not an anomaly.

I am usually in the 45-60Mbps DL and 7-20Mbps UL. I am sure they are on a heavily congested area. And being that it is a tech company they probably have a lot of interference.
i usually get like 1 mbps....oh wait...i don't have 4g *sniffle*

My mom asked me the other day if they could upgrade their Network Extender I got for her house to an LTE one. I told her it wouldn't matter because LTE is so much faster than cable they would be bottle necked by Comcast. She didn't understand what I meant, so I just told her they don't have them yet, lol.
I get 20-30 down here in Charlotte.

Really depends where you live or work. At work, Sprint is 800 kbps while 55 would be a dream for AT&T, since usually it was 20 or so.
Check your Tower Ugrade situation. Hopefully something is coming soon for you.

I have been consistently getting speeds lower than 80kbps down and 600up for over a month now. They haven't done anything no mater how much I call. They finally put in a tower ticket so it would be fixed in 72 hrs and I was to be notified that never happened. I'm terminating my service I can't justify paying for such low speeds. An the best part is its just the one tower right near my home the one up the road works fine.

I just did the math, downloading that slow 24 hours a day for 30 days you only use 18GB +/- so I'm not sure I understand the people that say they'd cancel if sprint removed unlimited plans. You wouldn't hit the cap at current speeds. Now if you are one of the people that actually get market average speeds I could understand that logic, but the rest of us would much rather have high speed...
I want to switch to Verizon, I just can't afford double cost for half the minutes, and data. I'm unlimited everything with sprint. I would trade it for a tiered plan that had Verizon service...just not at double the cost. Verizon has great service but for how cheap it is to run these networks they are priced too high.
you can also check here for tower maintence which is a little more specific than that other link posted before.
https://www.sprint.net/maint_view.php
Could always jump to VZW and enjoy their constant outages while I understand that crappy of a speed is as bad as a outage still. Lol hopefully there are some upgrades for ur towers soon.
Edit: yes sad panda great service for constant outages lol what they have had one every month for the last what 3-5 months or more LOL

After the first day I had mine, myAT&T app showed I had used 1.5GB, but then the next day the app said it couldn't report my data until next billing cycle because of recent changes to my data plan (going to LTE I guess). I've only used LTE, it's way faster than any wifi I'd be on.
I've used 32mb data, 50 mb wifi. Got mine on Monday

I thought the same thing about it being faster than my WiFi till I got throttled today for hitting 2,048mb in just 3 days. Now I'm getting speeds in the .15mbps range.
I guess it is kind of my fault though for not using WiFi when I should, but the LTE is way faster than my WiFi.
No throttling here so far, I assume I've gone over 2GB by now since I've had the phone since Friday.

11.6 gb. Lots of Netlflix.
Also if you're throttled and you want to get unthrottled, pm me. I have something I want to test.
Onavo seems to read data usage pretty well and updates instantly. There are 3 different widgets that track different things which is handy. You would certainly get throttled each month as usage at that pace would put you around 20gb in a month. It even breaks it down by which apps are using data such as Netflix, Facebook etc.
400 mb on network, 11,500 mb on wifi....

What app is that?
I got a text from Verizon this morning I was at 75% of my monthly allowed data. Ever since then my 4g has only been getting about .5gbs download speed. They fix network issues pretty quick here so I don't think it's that. Do you think they are governing my speed down?
I don't know, I'm no where near my cap and just tested my 4G speed and was only getting 0.17M download. Complete garbage.
I haven't really tested it since the OTA updated the radio, possible that messed it up?

That's just Verizon 4G IMO. Our LTE here is complete garbage. Down all the time, constant drops, and the 4G just stops in the middle of downloading or browsing and pauses with no activity. I hate LTE.
I think something might be going on with Verizon. I'm on an unlimited plan and still have only hit about 5gb so far this month anyway, but for some reason today I have had horrible 4g speeds. I can't even listen to Google Music right now because it just keeps stopping to buffer.
It's probably just the 4G in your area man. Some people get great speeds while others get complete garbage. Hopefully in time they will improve their standard of 4G service for all.
I was getting about 40gbs now I'm down to about. 2 rediculous

I think I might call them tomorrow to find out and if so i am definitely going to protest it. I've used 4.107gbs out of 5 now and and my monthly cycle is only days away.
My 4G has been excellent in the past. I've gotten as high as 28M down and 14M up. But I haven't ran any speed test since before the OTA update till today. Today I only got 0.17M down. I'll keep an eye on it and see how it does in the next few days.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using XDA App
Also, before the OTA my wifi at home would do 15M down, which is what my cable speed is. Now it won't do over 5M down, while my laptop does the full 15M. I think the new radio update is cutting the speed.

Verizon having problems with 4g then I guess, having very slow/crawling 4g speeds

I'm under the impression that when you get throttled, it's only if the tower you are on is under heavy load. Also, I'm sure they are not going to throttle you until you get into the top percentage of data users, and your on an unlimited plan. Att throttles there heavy users all the time, Verizon only when you are on a tower running close to capacity. This is all just what my understanding is, not an actual fact.
possibly throttling for me as well, I was at 20gigs
I dropped LTE briefly today in Michigan.
Still getting 30mbs down and at 17gbs used so far on unlimited. Netflix and Rom downloads to get me through the school day
there is no throttle if you are on a tiered data plan. however if you are on an unlimited, while it has not been done yet... VZW does have the right to slow you or whomever to a slower share of speed if the tower/network path is overcrowded. However, we are no where near capacity anywhere. capacity isn't the issue, it is just the coverage isnt as strong yet since the primary goal is full coverage of 3g footprint, then making signal stronger, overlapping etc...
I'm on unlimited and I am currently at 11gb data used with couple days left and just tested speed and have 15.5 up 11.6 down. I think it depends how much is being pulled from the tower at any given time.

It wasn't until I reached 80gb until I received a call to watch my usage. They do know what you used it for. It is unlimited but if you ho overboard by tethering it they will cancel your service. I had many 25 gb months with no call from customer service. You should be fine.

I wish I could use that much data. I get about 50kbps dial-up speeds here on 3g, so I can never stream any music/video like I should be able to.
lol, nice, but yea, don't over do it man, most i did was 8gb, but i was doing it on purpose though, i never normally go over 2-3, but yea, it was a one time thing for you which is what i really feel like tethering should be used for, for the ones that abuse it SHAME!!!
lmao, seriously thats nothing. you will be ok. i avg 80gb a month
I couldn't rack up that much data in a month if I tried, the sprint 3G speeds here suck and they took out the wimax tower when they did the LTE upgrade last month so now I don't even get wimax when I am at work.
This is comfort to know that I can use my wifi tether without penalty. The app I mean not the sprint wifi tether. I don't even get wimax here at all. 3g sucks here too. I got to leave the city to get decent service.
When I was trying to negotiate my latest contract, they tried to convince me to drop cable internet and tether everything in my house off of my phone... stating that then I'd save money but not paying the cable company.

80 GB?? I don't even use that much on my home internet let alone my phone...My average when I'm home is about 1-5 GB a month max. 80 GB is just insane.
That is impressive.
I HAVE tried to use as much as possible and can only manage to use 5-6GB, thats all the more I can do @ 200Kb/sec
I don't think I've ever used more than a GB I'm a month. Even with frequent music streaming.

They shouldn't have taken out the WiMax equipment just yet. I thought they were supposed to run both until they begin phasing out WiMax all together? You should check with them and find out what's up with that. LTE is replacing WiMax, but over time, not immediately. This video kinda explains it in a way, but not very detailed. You should have it through 2015 at least:
