The Analog Keyboard Project??? (Microsoft) - LG G Watch

Anyone else flashed Microsoft's new keyboard? I flashed and set up the apk but it's not working on the G watch. Anyone in the same boat? Advice?

I'm in the same boat. Will not work on mine. I do use the minuum keyboard just fine though.

It says it won't work on the LG as it is set up for 320x320.

Yah I read that. Figured it would still load, somewhat operate though. I guess we are stuck with Minuum KB.

[Q] Problems with Swype

Is anybody else having problems with swype? It works fine but the trace doesn't show up. Also the keyboard shows all caps after I start typing (not swyping) even though it types lowercase letters.
I had the same problem. It went away on its own. This version of swype sux. Can't predict a damn thing correctly

If you change input method to the htc kb and then back to swype it works fine.
I'm really hoping this either gets fixed or we get root soon so I can replace it.
the swype problem is back. i switched to another keyboard then back.... then its working. thanks watzone69

Have you installed voice search from the android market yet?
If not, that's something you need to do.
I have voice input working with FlexT9 keyboard (from amazon market) and also with Swiftkey Tablet.
I can't get voice input on my keyboard working with any keyboards other than those listed above.
Voice search definitely works for me, however.
Thanks Downsay, I'll give some of those keyboards a try. I can't use Amazon apps as I am in Canada and they have us locked out.
how did you install FlexT9 keyboard?
I tried the amazon downlaod and it just gives me a force close when I try to follow instruction screen and click button keyboard and input.

Which keyboard are you trying to download? Are you rooted?
Sent from my Nook Tablet using Tapatalk
which
downoaded FlexT9 keyboard and I am rooted I have hacker keyboard running.
First install the keyboard for the first time if you haven't already done so. Then Did you move the keyboard into /system/app? If not, you need to.
Also note that after you have done this you will need to reboot the nook. Then you will most likely have a force close error. Open root explorer or however you put the keyboard into /system/app and install flext9. You will have to reinstall each time you reboot the nook tablet. I'm not sure why' but it won't stick after a reboot. Let me know if this helps you out.

Mouse Toggle [ROOT] Nice!!

I first got this app for my FireTV and loved it. Developer now created an android tv version compatible with nexus player.
It allows you to use your stock remote as a mouse. Root is required on the nexus player.
No brainer for $0.99 as it eliminates the need for a separate bluetooth mouse or trackpad.
IMPORTANT FYI: The mouse function works WITHIN apps but not on the home screen!
Link and author's description:
Mouse Toggle [ROOT]
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fluxii.android.mousetoggleforandroidtv#hw-item-401
Add a mouse mode to the stock remote control or gamepad for Android TV.
NOTE: ROOT access is REQUIRED for this app to function.
Features:
Works just like a regular mouse that can click, long click, wheel up, wheel down, and drag.
Simple to toggle between regular remote and mouse modes.
Requirements:
1.) Android TV device(see below for supported devices).
2.) Stock / original remote control or game controller.
This actually work surprisingly well and includes an leanback icon, although I kind of wish we could hide things like this from the lean back launcher itself...

I agree with you on the leanback launcher icon. I know there needs to be a way to launch the app, but I hate scrolling through the list of apps when I know I won't be starting it up all the time.
Just tried the app. No go on Android TV 6.0. It kept on saying starting but sat there. Ended up asking for a refund. May try it again later when bugs are worked out.
Sounds cool but I will stick to my Logitech K400 Plus. I'm in and out of chrome on my nexus player anyways. However, this would have been helpful for me with HBO Go when it had to be sideloaded. Now it is available on the app store though so remote works great.

Which method did you use to root your Nexus Player? I have restored the device via the factory images(https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images?hl=en#fugu) and have used both methods(post #1 & #2) in the following link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/wip-android-6-0-marshmellow-t3219344
I flashed the factory images before each attempt to root and tried each method a couple of times. The app worked great during all 4 tests so hopefully we can discover what is different with your setup.
Thank you
Bought this for my fire tv and it was probably the most useful app ive ever bought for the price. On NP Im really just playing around trying to find a good use for the device. Right now im using android M rom (no leanback UI) and stock remote is useless. DOES this app work with the custom roms?

Still waiting... I finally broke down and forked over the cash for droidmote. Its a good app but doesnt replace a physical remote imho. You want to be able to just feel for the buttons when your watching tv. A phone or tablet isnt the same. Good rom. Itd be great if the remote worked.

Shouldn't be any conflict. The double tap of the play / pause button does have to be pretty quick(~400ms).
I would recommend opening the app and then toggling the enable switch off and then on to see if that helps. Did the SuperSU app prompt you for permission initially?

I did. And just took your advice and toggled on/off. Also rebooted just to see. But its working for you on 6.0? Thats strange. I just get normal remote functionality. Tried it in netflix where its needed but no cursor appears. I do have wifi keyboard attached. Would that cause issues? Doubt it since i quit droidmote and turn off keyboard. Ill keep trouble shooting but never had any issues with your app on aftv (also with wifi keyboard so yea thats not a factor)

Other devices won't cause any conflicts so you are ok there. Just to confirm a couple of items: The Nexus Player is rooted? Was the app granted root access and is it listed in the SuperSU app?
If you want to email me that may be easier.
Thanks again for your patience.

I just heard from another user that had the same issue. Apparently the Nexus Player remote was somehow displayed as 'Spike' instead of 'Nexus Remote' in the Bluetooth paired device settings. They were able to resolve the issue by un-pairing the remote and pairing it again which correctly identified the remote as 'Nexus Remote'.
Any chance your remote is also named 'Spike'?

How to change DPI non-root?

Just got the G5 to move back from iPhone to android. Hate iPhone! But it's silly that my iPhone 6S can fit more content on the screen and it is a highly inferior screen than the G5...
Is there any easy way to change DPI without being root? What's the recommended DPI for this screen without breaking apps like camera?
Ideally would like to root and install app settings & xposed but not sure if my model can be rooted yet. It's the international model bought from EE in the UK.
How do I check for locked bootloader?
Rockin my G5
Hello, I know i'm late but I just got my G5 today and was looking for information much like you were but didn't find any so i experimented. to note, i do have the t-mobile variant so obviously if you have a different version of the phone your results could be different. I haven't tried any DPI's lower than 560 but that being said 560 seems to be perfectly stable and was easily changed through adb! and WOW does it make a difference on this device! for me at least, 560 seems to be the sweet spot! Really, i don't understand why OEM's don't set their DPI's to reasonable settings in the first place.. i mean, we have quad-hd displays for androids sake, LET US USE THEM.. anyways, rant aside:
You'll want to install ADB and the LG drivers obviously but once that's setup go to your phone, enable developer options and enable USB debugging and OEM unlock (the latter may not be necessary but my device wasn't being recognized initially so i enabled it. Also, for some reason i'm finding with this phone that it doesn't want to be recognized in MTP (file transfer) mode but seems to work fine in "camera mode".
first, type "adb devices" to make sure that the device is being recognized.
once your device is being recognized by adb (it may say unauthorized, ignore this) simply type the following command.
"adb shell wm density 560 && adb reboot"
or you can obviously change out the number to whatever DPI you want, but the lower you go the higher the chance that things like the camera will stop working properly. So far i have not had any issues at all with any system apps, the camera seems to have scaled perfectly as it should and this is generally the app that breaks for me. if i find any apps or anything not working i'll update my post here, but so far so good!
I hope this helps you out! If you have any further questions let me know!!
(little update, first and ONLY thing i've had issues with is the "always on display" doesn't seem to show time correctly.. oh well!! its a very fair trade and since the always on display can be shut off in settings its not even an eyesore. )
Hey bud,
Tried setting it to 560 using this method, think its probably a tiny bit too small, would probably prefer maybe in the middle between 640 (stock) and 560. I noticed that on 560 swiftkey didnt work properly (cant live without swiftkey!!) and as you said, the always on display showing time - signature works fine though.
Have reverted it for now, maybe yourself or someone will find a perfect number which gives minimal issues with apps. Otherwise, might just wait on root to edit the build.prop instead.

so try a different DPI? just replace 560 in the command with whatever you want to and see how it looks. only takes a couple minutes to do. also, if you like swiftkey.. you should really try Swype. much better keyboard and it scales perfectly with and dpi i've ever tried on any phone.

You need to search for the LG H850 on LG's website. H850 is the actual model number. But as other comments suggest, the drivers for the V10 will probably work fine.

Thank you! That looks awesome. I'm going to do this now.
Edit: SwiftKey does not seem to like the new DPI... keyboard is all messed up looking, haha.
I'm using 600 on mine, everything seems fine.
Is this a code that can be used on any phone? Could I use this on my Xperia Z5?????
I'm using 560 as someone suggested, and LastPass doesnt scale properly and PlaySTore, the blue top dev icon is too large, otherwise no problems at all.
I tried this with 540. Here's the list of things that weren't working right:
Uber | sprites like cars and pins were tiiiiiiiiiiny or squished. Still useable but not pretty.
Anything that required photo cropping or editing (Instagram, Bumble, etc) the photos were multiples larger than they should be | For instance, in instagram, you'd share a photo to it and it'd show up in the initial cropping window as huuuuuge and unscalable, but if you hit next it'd be normal size. So you just had to use guesswork to position the photo.
Swiftkey keyboard | As reported, also displayed HUGE, even though it responded to key presses in the right places.
Starbucks | Also seeing the "dots" on the map that show locations as super tiny. Not a big deal here.
In general, it seems anything that overlays graphical elements or that brings up photos for editing is at risk. I miss how this worked on my G4, but I guess that's because I did it via root. Can't wait.
Reseted the dpi but the always on Screen and the home button are still broken.
Weird thing. I used "wm density x" too, and, well... anything different than 640 (default), and android.process.phone keeps crashing....

AOSP Keyboard

Hello all.
I recently got a Honor 10 and I can't get used to this Swiftkey or new Gboard keyboards.
I liked so much my simple and easy to use old phone's AOSP keyboard.
I have tried different versions from apk mirror but none offl them worked on Honor.
I even tried transfering via BT the apk from the root storage of my old phone to Honor and instaling it. But again, failed.
Either the app crashes, or it doesn't even show the keyboard when you select a text box.
Any solution to this?
Any way to make AOSP Keyboard work on Honor?
Have not tried, but try download https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/cyano...id-keyboard-aosp-8-1-0-2-android-apk-download this.

But Google Play insists on updating it to Gboard newest version.
