[DEVS WANTED] I have a Concept for Photography Enthusiast - Galaxy Note 3 Accessories

As we know that the phone's camera become more and more sophisticated, we still struggle to use it like a pro.
Its hard to handle the razor slim phone steadily to create best photo.
No, we are not saying that DSLR-photo-quality can't be achieved using a phone's camera as more features are cramped in our phone and the camera spec is more advanced towards DSLR.
Take Note 3, Note 4, LG G3, etc for example....
My sketch: https://www.dropbox.com/s/44rs748hjhd3xzj/DSLR Handle for Phone.jpg?dl=0
We missed one thing and I got a concept in my brain but can't draw it properly.
So I tried to draw the best I can and will share to you who are wiling to develop it and maybe crowdfunding it using Kickstarter (for US citizen).
I don't have money, or access to the tools required, or resources to develop it.
As I'm Indonesian, I don't have access to Kickstarter either.
NEEDED: Hardware maker for realizing my concept and software programmer for programming the interface and GUI required.
Sorry if my English are bad.

So just drop me a PM to those who are willing to take my concept to real thing, I'll send you the sketch.

There's countless products and gimmicks out there.
How can you be sure "your" concept isn't something that's in creation already.
Besides, no-one will take you seriously.
This whole deal of "PM me and I'll think about sending you a sketch" is moronic.
Just sketch your concept, upload it online, link it here into the thread.
When people see it, they might like it... might even supply improvements to the concept.
Even I won't be interested in it if its not posted to the public.

Thanks for the advice...
OK, here's the sketch....

It's basically the DSLR-like handle for phone...
I can't sketch it right since I can't draw...
But hope you can get my idea...

I believe this is a similar concept.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUnSyvFj_wY

Errr, its different as I created this with grip/handling in mind... (Think DSLR)
Not for sports/actions like IglooCase.....
Any idea/suggestions for improvement?

Nothing new. Nokia has the same thing long time ago for lumia 1020.

Yes, that's exactly what I'm thinking....
That's new for me as I never look for MS stuffs except MS Windows for Desktop/Laptop....
So I guess this is old idea then....
Thanks all....
@mods: please close/delete this thread.... Thank you....

[APP][04.01.10][WVGA-VGA-WQVGA-QVGA] CountOnMe 1.0

Here's CountOnMe, it a turn-o-matic simulation with different counters. The idea is that, when someone is hassling you (maybe your boss...), you put out your device, and without a word invite him to wait his turn
Ok, i know it's a total inutility. But sound a bit funny.
This is a fully functional version, not a demo nor a limited time app. The difference with the "pro" version is that preferences are only available in "pro" version.
If you like this app and want to upgrade to "pro", send me a small donation, specifying you want "CountOnMe pro" and telling me which is your device screen resolution (wvga, vga, wqvga or qvga).
"Pro" version saves state on exit (on restart you’ll have on display the same number you had on quit), you can switch between 4 different counters, you can disable sound and you can disable the "now serving" images.

a new app for the new year huh.. great work as usual ..
It looks great but couldn't you use your developing skills for a more usefull apps?
There are a lot of app ideas around and as I can see you are pretty good.
Just my two cents..

yes, and this way I would also make money, i guess. But what is missing in WinMo scene (and what, instead, is plenty of in iPhone one) is useless apps, made just for fun. The idea is that WinMo is not only a serious device, but it can be used for fun as iPhone. That's why i leave serious apps to serious developers

Looking for "Natural Display Calculator" on Android 2.3.7 CM

Hey app devs out there,
I just looked for a simple but powerfull calculator via the android market. Found nothing but the "old school" ones.
Yeah, there are tons of calculators out there, one has more abilities than the other. But thats not what I am looking for!
I am WORKING with my windows7 laptop, word2010 and microsoft's math4. Give it a try and you will see why I love this combination that damn much!
I am studying machanical engineering, so I need some features more than others, but the biggest thing is it must be as written on paper, that is what word2010+math4 gives me!
I write the fractions just as I would write them on paper, right after x^4/y^2 and space it is shown to me not in that freaky oldschool style, like excel still does.
So, why not have such an calculator on android? That would give many high mathematic working people a chance to get rid of windows, get an tablet (for me still an GalaxyAce) with android and a powerfull but easy to handle calculator.
As I have no clue about programming, it would take me months just to get the first lines, but this job realy needs enthusiasts to get it the way I mind it.
So, if any of you here knows where to place this request, please help me out. There must be sitting some super brains waiting for another challange, this would be a huge one!

I also came across the same need. It is pretty strange that on google play there is no such scientific calculator app available. I mean, the "natural display" feature would really be usefull, particulary on big screen devices. Anyone knows if such an app has been developer since DaBigFreak opened this thread?

We thought the same, so we developed an app that does exactly this! Let me know if you have any feedback. You can check it out here:

Hahahaha I definitely didn't expect to get a response from a 3 year old thread That's great to hear. You guys were actually part of the reason why we decided to develop this app - I ran into the same problem and was amazed at how there were zero natural display scientific calculators on the store, while the Apple Store had tons. We're continually updating the app at the moment and just added programmable constants! If you could leave a review that would mean a lot to me :fingers-crossed:

Wow, its a realy nice working calculator, but I definitly need integrals and matrizes. So if you could add this, it will be realy usefull at university

Thanks! We'll add that to the list of features to be implemented. At the moment we're working on adding history and favourites which is turning out to pretty painful. If you could leave a rating or review in the store, we'd be so grateful!

Before that, I'd love to see integrals, sum and matrizes. Then you can essentially do anything you want or that could be done.
Next big thing would be to make variables calculating available. Not storing a certain number as A, B, or C, but let the calculator solve an non-number equation to a specific variable.
Right behind that, setting up variables with a value, so you can define A:=5.0, B:=2*A and the equation only has A and B, the calculator gives the results.

All the things you've asked for are being worked on at the moment, but understandably it will be months before they're actually implemented. At the moment we really need traction to increase the visibility of our app, otherwise there's really no incentive for us to continue developing if it's going to be buried underneath thousands of crappy calculator apps on the Play Store That's why reviews and ratings are so important to us. We do take into account the many features that our users request, they'll all sitting in a document, slowly being ticked off one by one

New Guy

Alright gotta keep this brief. I'm new here. I took a high school class in game and website development last year (Ya my resume beats anyone's here[extreme sarcasm])… pretty much forgot all I learned.
Now I'm sitting here with my phone...and the program AIDE, and downloading every single android game to date is a drag.
So...I want to make some games.
3 questions.
Am I in way over my head here?
Even with drop box, am I going to need a computer? (Because I don't have one)
If I'm not one of a billion idiots who makes a crap app for 99 cents no one will ever buy...where do I start?
Thanks in advance and sorry if this post is not in the correct forum.
Sent from my DROID RAZR using XDA Premium App
Hello New Guy!
I hope you know how to program in Java (I'm guessing you do, since you said you took a class).
You'd be more productive if you use a computer. Sure you can program using AIDE but what about making the images and the music? It might be possible to even do that on your phone to an extent, but if you really want to make something that is great and polished you'd be able to do it better on a computer. It need not be a beast of a machine. Any old machine would be better than doing it on your phone.
If you really want to look like you aren't a part of the group of the "billion idiots who makes a crap app for 99 cents no one will ever buy", start by getting an actual machine where you can seriously sit and work.
Learn OpenGL ES. Or learn to use a game engine for Android.
Then come up with ideas for a game. Then narrow down to the idea you think holds the most potential. Make a prototype. Try it out and make others try it to see if it is actually any fun. If yes, then work on it and complete it. If no, then switch to another idea.
Thank you very much for your clear clean and concise answer. Seriously. Probably the most useful answer I've gotten for any question in a while. I'd like your post but honestly I do not know how.
Would it really be so bad if pirates crashed all the world's economies leading to modern civilization's imminent doom?
Oh! You don't have to, but, there is a thanks button which is equivalent to liking my answer
I don't really know much about your next question I don't really think that pirates are capable of such a thing...

[Petition] Optimize your App! A List of Developer Petitions

Hello all!
See below for this thread on other forums.
Android Tablet Forum
====================
Click here to subscribe to this thread. I recommend it!
I'm a fellow Nexus 10 owner. I love my device, but I'm a bit tired of facing applications that are low-resolution and unoptimized for the incredible display we have on the Nexus 10. Even tablet-optimized apps are lacking. Aren't you frustrated? Hence, I thought we could do something about it as a community.
Which is the purpose of this thread!
Here's how it will work. This first post will serve as a compilation of all the petitions made to any and all developers to optimize their applications for tablets, and also the Nexus 10's display. Any subsequent posts in this thread shall be for petition requests and discussion, which I will personally put together and post up to the petition site being used for this purpose (Care2 as of this thread's posting). I will then add a direct link to that petition to this thread, sorted by category. Feel free to make any suggestions or to criticize! I will also start us off with a petition I have already created myself: to the developers of the Bloons TD series of games, Ninja Kiwi.
I'll try to keep things simple! Keep on topic, please, and try your best to sign each and every petition. Its the only way we'll be able to actually push developers to optimize their applications for tablets like ours! So, without further ado, let us begin!

This is likely Google's job, not ours. In any event, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter are three that immediately spring to mind. Not because they are low resolution -- not sure what you mean there -- but because the layouts are so clearly designed for smaller screens. I shouldn't have to opt for Friendcaster, Tabstagram, and Plume.

No, it's the app devs job. The point of this is to show them that there is a need for this to be done by enough of their user base to merit the work hours it will take them to implement it. What they don't know ends up hurting us. It is actually an excellent idea.
A dedicated Facebook app should be a priority. My mate has an iPad and I found myself looking longingly at the sickness of the dedicated app. Something needs to be done to put a stop to this sick perversion!

Its the job of the application developers to get out proper apps. Google has done TONS of work already. Now we need to show these guys that we, the users, actually care about proper tablet applications, and that it is worth the investment.
Thats why I created this thread - if we don't do something about it, no-one will! I'm going to try to get as many signatures as possible, and I'm going to spread this thread across multiple forums if necessary. AndroidTablets.net springs to mind.

You'll excuse me if I seem overly cynical about this. I used to be a BlackBerry user. Well over two years ago, some folks on Crackberry launched a campaign to bombard Reid Hastings, the president of Netflix, with email to get Netflix on the BlackBerry platform (the OS 6 devices like the Torch had then fairly recently come out). If you are familiar with Crackberry, you know that they are a rabid, fanatical horde. Nothing happened. Then came the petitions -- change.org and the like. They are still going on more than two years plus later, and despite the fact that BlackBerry now has quite decent phones and a decent OS in BB10, there is still no Netflix on the platform.
EDIT: Holy! I already have 4 signatures for Facebook on Android Tablets and I haven't even posted it anywhere yet! That shows something.

I think your points make sense, but they aren't a valid reason really to cause Netflix to develop for BB10. The marketshare simply isn't there.
With Android, however, the market has shown that it is a valid platform (and I hate to say that as if it was an option - c'mon. ANDROID IS AWESOME! ); it makes sense for them to update, and it only helps us out. We need to show them that we actually CARE. If they understand that, then they will update for us without question. If they have any business sense, that is.
Same with BB10 (which is, quite frankly, a very nice OS - it even has NFC Beaming support between BB and Android devices). If they had the market AND Crackberry screaming like it was/is, they would get a proper app quite quickly.
This deserved a quick update post: the petitions for Facebook and Instagram are now online. Facebook already has a few votes!

BB's problem is definitely rooted in market share, something that Android in general obviously has no problem with. But the numbers dwindle considerably when you're talking about Android tablet market share, and then on top of that, you've got to consider how many Android tablet users really care that there are some apps that are just scaled up phone versions. Apple cared enough to do something about it -- remember that was one of the criticisms of the first iPad, i.e., that it seemed just like a oversized iPod. Google has not been responsive on this front (nor on others for that matter).
Anyway, I don't want to discourage anyone, so have at it.

Don't worry, you're not discouraging (me, at least).
Android Tablet market share has been steadily on the rise - in fact, it rivals the iPad. According to many statistics, they are slated to pass (if they have not already) Apple devices in tablet market share by the 3rd quarter. I listed 3 (or 4?) links in all of the petitions.
As for Google, they have been doing a great job lately. They added dedicated tablet sections to Google Play, and have been pushing developers to adhere to the guidelines constantly. I say keep up that pressure!

[R&D]Integrating Artificial Intelligence into ROM

Hi everyone,
This is a post to existing ROM developers. A childhood dream of mine has always been to create a technology that makes any type of connected device intelligent in a general way. This is a goal that is now real in version 1.0 and is currently being integrated into an automation app.
You can see a CONCEPT video here (though, because Engadget never talked to me, the entire article is based on assumptions from the author. There is an awesome data privacy/control model in place and the tech doesn't "think" for you lol):
Doesn't look like I'm senior enough to post a link. So Google "Kimera Systems Engagdet" and the video will be the first result
And a recent tech meetup presentation with quick demo here (what tech can do today and how it is expected to evolve in 2014):
In the ideal world this type of AI is integrated deeper into the ROM to enable a real device experience rather than an app experience. And that's the point of this post. At some point we'll open up the framework (a API to a user's "personal cloud" - Because each user owns their own data and can host their cloud anywhere they want, each users API will have its own endpoint url) for anyone who wishes to integrate AI into their ROM, launcher, or app. But today we're too early for a general release and instead looking to partner with an existing developer who can see the long term potential.
If you're a ROM developer and interested in at least learning more, PM me and we can have an initial chat.
PS. Has to be for a Sprint Samsung Note 3 ROM. Why? I have that device and obviously for me to support you on development .... well, it would be ideal for me being able to run your ROM And also, since Note 3 is by far the absolute best device out there, I'm curious how you can innovate the user experience with this technology to something even better few people can imagine.
This sounds really interesting. I would like some more info if possible, unfortunately just that since I don't have an N3 (Sprint S3 instead).
And here's the link for others: http://www.engadget.com/2012/10/13/kimera-systems-wants-your-smartphone-to-think-for-you/
I thought google was working on this and it was named project "Majel", which is a reference to Majel Barrett of Star Trek fame for anybody in the know
Interesting!

Mind blowing, every time when I see something like this happening with technology I wonder that most of the things we saw in Si-Fi movies are about to come real. it's started, messing up with AI has started at right time and we are very fortunate to see something incredible in upcoming years.

Yeah, like Skynet and T1000 Military robots/drones. It will be awesome to be oppressed by our governments with AI! I cannot wait!

In short (okay, maybe not short) we built the technology to focus on
Allowing any connected device to understand the world the same way you do. That means "human-like intelligence' (and I believe we're the first one to have cracked that nut) and the ability for your devices to mimic your personality.
Complete data privacy. I hate the idea that 3rd party companies own and control your data and literally turning you into a product they can sell to advertisers. So we've implemented a "personal cloud" solution. The idea is that instead of all your Android devices connected to Google server farm, or Facebook server farm when starting your FB app, or Apple server farm for iOS etc....I want us to get to a point where all your devices connect to your personal cloud and that you can host your cloud anywhere you want so that you have full control over it. This means no one, including my startup, will ever get into a position to controlling the intelligence or data on the global network. Or in other words, no NSA and no Skynet.
This is the most important part: Devices need to understand "WHY?". Why are you doing this or that? etc. Anyone who can answer the question why exhibits real human intelligence. That is the main point of this AI.
From a practical standpoint, the AI really interconnects these personal clouds in specific ways so that they can "produce" intelligence. The result is an "intelligence briefing" that is sent to the device allowing the device to understand what is going on and why and provide information where the device can find apps, services, content so that device can automatically connect to the app. (no app stores or social networks or commerce platforms, just direct from user to service/product/app provider).
Kind went into the technical details here, but hopefully it answered your question
And thank you for posting the link

We designed it specifically to prevent government and hackers to invade your privacy. No Skynet!

In that case you also need jail cells for devices who decide to break the law

LOL! If it is being designed by a man you better believe that! The ultimate punishment will be having the device deactivated and being forced to run the Palm OS for the rest of its life.

Yeah both of those OSs will make a phone feel retarded. It will be the equivalent of having a stroke for a cell phone.

Forgot Apple iOS lol, if it was forced to run iOS it might start uninstalling itself and cause your device to brick to prevent it from having to deal w/ the OS........software seppuku lol

Having to run the IOS will be for misdemeanors and the Palm OS would be for life sentences. The blackberry OS is for everything in between.

I had used the palm treo for a while. It was cool for one of the first "operating system based phones", but maybe going back, since after not using it for so long, I would probably have to concur lol. I need to pick one up and play with it again.

The Palm OS was my favorite back in the days but times change and we have to adapt and keep with the times. Palm OS was good for it's time. The funny thing is Android approached Palm first to throw their OS in their phone but Palm told android to F-off. That decision F-ed Palm and now they are no longer making smartphones.
