it might but it would kill your battery since we dont have a cpu dedicated for voice recognition like the moto X

The cpu is not equal to the Moto X (1st Gen)?
Was it possible to use the "always listening" on Moto G 2013?
Where can i get the apk or do i need more than only the apk file?
Greetz and thanks a lot for help.

i dont know ill look into it... but no our cpu is nothing like the moto X, the moto X had 3 cpu for use for the device i think and one that was a low powered cpu that was in charge of always listening to the hotword without hurting battery much... we dont have that special cpu and it would most likely drain the batttery quicker.
edit: If you really want to try it there is an app called OpenMic+ that allows the same thing as moto voice, also there is one called touchless notifications i think both are free so if you want to try it out... but there again we dont have a super amoLED screen or the special cpu so dont say i ddint warn you about your batteery :b

Hello XDA,
I love the Moto X's always-on "Okay, Google" feature. Unfortunately, it's such a small phone.
I've read that the Qualcomm S800 chip makes it possible to have the feature without much detriment to the battery.
Our Ultra has the above mentioned chip. Would be much appreciated, if developers are able to work their magic to bring this great feature to our Ultra or any S800's devices.
I've tried 3rd party apps like "Utter!" and "Assistant" etc. I have not found any that doesn't deplete the battery so quickly.

I think this will help you... it is a 3rd party app... but thats about the best you'll get for a while.
(embedded apps within a ROM are the same thing, dev's just implement a menu system of that app into the system settings)
Hi.
I made an app some days ago, but didn't know about this sub-forum, so here i am today posting about it.
The app is WearControl for Android Wear!
PlayStore link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=octathorp.wearcontrol
It requires that you have rooted your Android Wear device, so here is my custom rooted ROM in case you own a Samsung Gear Live (but it should work with ANY rooted Android Wear device, no matter the ROM): http://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-live/general/rom-octamodwear-stock-root-busybox-t2834620
These are the main features (more coming soon):
- Manage CPU governors in order to increase performance or battery life, at your choice.
- Reboot the device in recovery or bootloader mode; you don't need a PC anymore for that.
I hope you find it useful, greetings!
Nice work, idk why nobody has replied to this.
It seems to work with my Sony Smartwatch 3, even though it's not rooted. ??
A MUST have if you're a heavy user. Working solid on my G! Thanks and keep up the good work dev.
CPU governor set to powersave doubles battery life for me!!

Very good job thanks a lot for that. Works very well on LG G WATCH R.
Just installed on my LG G Watch. Thanks for your work!

Can anyone tell me a similar device to moto e which has almost same specifications (the price be anything) as compared to moto e which has good android development. It may be from Samsung Sony or any company but it should have good android development.
The most important features to get matched are
Screen resolution
Processor
Screen size (it may be 4"-4.5")
Ram
Android 4.4.4
I can easily port roms from that device thats why asking
No one interesred>>> fingers down!!
I like the above POST

Well, only these phones have matching processor : Blu Studio 5.0, Blu Studio 5.3S, Nokia Lumia 530.
However, a lot of phones have 1GB ram as the Moto E.
And, similarly, a lot of phones out there with Screen size from 4"-4.5"
But, only few on Android 4.4.4, I believe. Actually, no one with matching specs above.
And, problem is, the phones having matching processor have no android or no development.
So, I guess, that's unfortunate for us, but that's how it is for now.
But, CM11 sources for our device are there, now.
Can, you refer to them, and maybe see some other phone which has 1GB RAM, android 4.4 and a similar screen size, and make code changes to port it for Moto E ?

Any luck here man? I got the moto hint for the voice operation, because I thought I could just side load the moto voice apk somehow on my Note 3. No Bueno.
There's gotta be a way.
Its just google now.... The motorola bit is just using under-volted cpu to monitor your mic while asleep... So unless your asking for a new kernel that will decrease the number of cores you phone uses so one can run at low power and monitor the mic your not going to get it. While awake it just feeds everything to google now.
Heard The Feature is of Snapdragon 800, And Seems Like nobody is porting this feature..Why? Is it patented? If Not Make It Alive..
Almost possible

Yeah, you are right to some extent. The processor on the moto supports a low energy state wherein it can always listen to voice commands and yet not consume much power. And also the voice feature has been deeply integrated into the moto's belly making it quite a daunting task to port it. Would require considerable amounts of time, resources and caffeine

Because it requires a Ti chip, which Motorola implemented, the snapdragon doesn't have it.
