Am so close to pre-ordering a Z3 Compact tablet, and will pay the premium if the Remote Play will really work as advertised.
All we have to go on are some youtube vids of the remote play feature on the Z3 and experience by the public on the Vita.
What I want to do is sit in front of the TV (watching Eastenders or something else as dull ) and at the same time game (mostly FIFA15)on the Z3 tablet while on the couch.
Will it really be free of enough lag to allow me to twist and turn and pass the ball and shoot with delays that I wont notice ? I really hope so. My worry is that if it does lag a little, then as poor as I am at FIFA15 already, I will only get worse to the point that I wont want to use remote play feature and therefore make my expensive tablet as useful as a tablet at half the price ( I will use it for surfing and tv shows on top of remote play).
Your comments, thoughts and experiences with the Vita would be much appreciated.
I got my new z3 tablet yesterday and immediately used remote play because this feature is the main reason I bought this Tab.
Unfortunately I am underwhelmed by the performance.
My Ps4 is wired hooked up to a Easybox 803 (from Vodafone). The Z3 Tablet is connected via WiFi of course.
It doesn't matter if I play Destiny, Resogun or Games like Fez. The Gameplay is smooth but every 30 sec or 1 min I experience a freeze for 2-3 seconds or the picture stuttered or something equal... Very annoying.
I tried to put the Ps4 in the DMZ of the Easybox but same result. WiFi Connection on my home WiFi is at 144mb/sec, n only and 2,4 GHz, don't know if that is enough or not to remote play smoothly.
Any idea on how I can improve my gaming experience?

I read that 5ghz is better from the router. Havent tested it myself however.
i heard that also. People think that a 2,4 GHz WiFi plus the Dualshock 4 (also 2,4 GHz) is the reason for the Problem...
So I tried using only the on-screen buttons and disable Bluetooth in the Tablet.
At least for me same results as with Bluetooth....

Hi guys,
I'm using optic cable and my download are super fast but when I use my prime and also my iPad YouTube streaming is really slow...
Any way to increase the streaming speed? As there are fix on PC and Mac is there a fix for mobile devices?
Thanks!
I would like to second that as well. When i try to watch videos in the YouTube app it seems to buffer a lot when hd is turned on. Is their any fix for that? I have a 40/5mb speed and still buffers.
Buy a faster wireless router/access point.

thats not the case, i have a a couple of iphones and pc's and they work just fine. Anybody have anymore suggestions? Also i have a n dualband rouer.
let me be more specific
its is the streaming that is slow overall i'm getting super download speed.
example i use jetvd to download a hd video from youtube is faster than i watch it stream HD...
Same. I am having slow steaming speeds and it has nothing to do with my internet speed.
I recently sold my ipad1 since i wanted to get out of the apple ecosystem. For the last week I been researching which android tablet to get. At first I looked at the Galaxy Tab 10.1 which I liked spec-wise but when I went to BestBuy to take a look at it, I noticed it was laggy and stuttered just flipping between homescreens (which im not sure if all galaxys experience this or it was just the display screen not performing well) so i started looking for something more meaty performance-wise and led me to find the prime. However, theres been 2 things holding me off from buying it:1st is i just cant find it anywhere, and 2nd is when i found out of its wifi/bt problems. Im not planning on using any bt, so could I expect wifi to work flawlessly not using bt? (wifi is important for me).
The thing is that I need a tablet to read...i shouldnt have sold my ipad without having bought the android one...
some earlier units had the wifi/BT problem. seems to be an issue streaming audio to BT headset while streaming wifi connection to tablet. like on internet or watching a movie. some reported drop in speed. a major contributing factor is because the wifi & BT on same chip/component. its something with the BT audio interfering. we also have alot who report they can do both just fine w/o noticeable drop in speed. if you don't even plan to use BT in that way then you should be fine. even if you did, you should still be fine.
I've had my Prime since 12/22 and wireless performance has been great for me. never drops a signal and consistently gets the fastest download/upload speeds. just search for an online retailer carrying the prime like best buy or something. they are out there but always sell out so quickly. This is the best and most powerful tablet Android has at the moment. its well worth getting. Very sexy looking tablet also
just check out the link in my signature, Positive Transformer thread, to put some balance to things. there's always a flip side and not as bad as it may seem at times.
Well,
To be honest, I like my prime a bunch but if I'm on wifi, I cant connect my PS3 sixaxis through bluetooth. I have to kill wifi then connect the controller. I havent tried reconnecting the wifi but I know I cant use bluetooth if wifi is already active just from that.

I don't have this problem myself and use my sixaxis a lot. If you aren't using bluetooth anyways then no worries there. My wifi is just as powerful as my Samsung phone.
Wondering if anyone has any or experience on the topic. I'd love to take advantage of the screen mirroring built into this device to play my SNES on my HDTV. Despite being a wifi enabled smart TV, I don't think my vizio M3D550KD has WiFi direct, and thusly can't get it to connect. So I guess my only is to get some sort of miracast receiver. Has anyone used one of these products like the netgear pvt3000 or actiontec screenbeam pro? Do they work reliably well with satisfactory framerates from the xtz? Any experience or input would be greatly appreciated..
I got quite new Panasonic GT50 plasma and screen mirroring does not work. Pictures, movies and music streaming via dlna works perfectly though.
Interested also about this. I have LG 60" plasma without any fancy functions (hey 60" for 900$) so I bought WDTVlive hoping that I could make mirroring work. Alas I can get pictures mirrored but for every video file I try it fails. Same problem from my HTC one.
It is possible that I use YouTube app on tablet and wdtvlive and then play YouTube videos on TV. Unfortunately western digital software is so horrible that the box restarts randomly. While this tablet has been one of the most positive surprises I got this year the wdtvlive must be biggest disappointment. I wish they will have some firmware upgrade for it.

If you want to play games on your big screen, you might get better results with an MHL cable. Even if you get the screen mirroring to work, there might be some lag.
I just got one from Monoprice.com for $10
Sony's miracast is pretty badly implemented, once you connect to miracast (screen mirroring) you are force to disconnected from wifi. Which makes it pretty useless, unless you are gonna stream your youtube from 3G or LTE. It was never a problem with my samsung's device (note 2, note 10.1) where you can connect to miracast and wifi simultaneously.
I'm a little frustrated with remote play on this tablet. It works great for a minute or so, then it will stutter heavily and lose signal a bit for 5 seconds before it starts working again for a minute until it starts stuttering for 5 seconds and so on.
Is anyone else experiencing this? My ps4 is wired directly to the router, (AC68U) and I've tried a spare router I have which does the same thing.
No amount of tweaking router settings /channels seems to help, I'm stuck!
Thats unfortunate, I've had great success on both my devices, i have the Z2 Tablet and Z3 Phone. I'm able to play Destiny Level 27 Nightfall strikes and 28 Story modes no problem (i do have the very slightest input lag but its not really anything to effect game play, u get used to it after the first couple minutes)
I plug into my router and use wifi from my device. I have my network on wireless AC using a AC1900-Nighthawk Smart WiFi Router. Anyway it seems alot of people are having issues so i guess im lucky, i F**kin love it!!
I managed to sort the problem. Turns out that disabling location in quick settings solves the lagging.
Bad, big lags and disconnections. I've ps4 wire connected to my router (TP LINK TD-W8970) and wi-fi connection with Z3 tablet.
I'm in the same room as my router but connection is poor. I'm getting disconnects every one or two minutes, artifacts on the screen. Lag is also noticeable, so aiming works with big inertia. BTW I've only tested this with Destiny.
I've bought Z3 mainly due remote play feature, I could wait for new nexus, but remote play was big feature for me.
Now it looks like something not usable, at least in high action games.
It's ok. Better than on the Vita, but mainly due to being able to use a DS4. On my home wifi (wired PS4, Meraki MR18 dual-band 2-stream 802.11n wifi AP) connection is flawless, as it should be.
My only bugbear is that it won't allow a connection over 4G/LTE. I've got 20Gb Data I can implement and if I'm connected to 4G it's likely to be faster than most public wifi points, so why can't I use it?
I was going to say I literally got an ac68u and z3tc the same day and it works flawlessly. Given I have 150mbit home Internet and dual 2.4 and 5ghz and z3tc was on the 5ghz band while 4 other devices were connected two watching a movie remote play was working fine. I'm glad you fixed it!

What Wifi settings do you have on your AC68U? I've got the same router & have lag issues with remote play when connected to the 5ghz band (2.4ghz is even worse). I've tried every combination on the wifi settings page but nothing can keep a stable AC speed connection.
When I first connect it connects at 866Mbps, then drops down to 300Mbps or lower in less than a minute, has anyone else experienced this?
I would also want to know ac68u wifi configuration for flawless remote connection. I was going to buy xDSL capable model (Asus DSL-N66U) hopping that 5 GHz wifi is the solution for my lags in remote play.
Tried to play GTA V. Very dissapointing expirience: lags, artefacts and disconnection in one minute (did not try after that). Location was off. I beleive this relies on the good wifi router very much.
Mine Works good after a few tweaks, one of the big ones is on the PS4, select the option to connect directly to the ps4. I havent had a problem since then. I wish they would unlock it to connect over different networks. I had the vita i was a couple states over visiting family and i could still play the PS4.
I agree with the majority of comments on this post. The gameplay is very laggy! I tried to play fifa 15 on it and i eventually gave up, movement is slow and pressing a command on the controller takes like a half second delay which makes the game really frustrating. I hoped it was quicker. Not sure how they'll fix this though, i have a fibre optic connection too so it's defo not my internet. Think there's just a few issues that need addressing
I would like to buy these device but for me is very important that the remote play works ok
I have a z3 compact and works very well.
I need more comments of remote play experience please
If the tablet tether to ps4 without enabling data. (ps4 connecting to z3 tablet 's tethering without enabling data), would it work? Would this make the experience better?

sorry I was on vacation!
I spent about an half an hour when I got my router when I got it but I manually set my 2.4 ghz channel so I get zero interference and max range. I also manually set 40hz to get 100mbits on 2.4 which blows the 1900 "nighthawk" out of the water when I had it. Then I set up 5ghz with minimal differences to default settings as nobody else had a 5ghz network around. I feel like encryption type has an effect on remote play but I need to check. I reccomend opening your network, using the 5ghz channel then remote playing. Again I get zero issues with remote play and was also able to play a few rounds of injustice over 7400 miles away. I love the ac68u allot more then the nighthawk (cnet also reflects this conclusion) For 2.4ghz long range speed, it's reliability and stability.
Since PS4 2.5 fw it is possible to remote play 60 fps. Problem is Xperia Z3 tablet is underperforming. Xperia Z3 phone has a solid performance on high settings almost PS Vita level, no problem here. In spite of sharing same specs the remote play experince on tablet is just meh on high settings. Phone and tablet settings are all the same connected to 5GHz wifi, both has Lollipop 5.0.2 up to date. Phone is D6603 tablet is SGP611.
I see 3 options that could cause this:
Screen size 5,2 vs 8;
App apk differences, phone vs tablet;
Faulty tablet hardware.
Synthetic benchmarks show very close results when comparing phone and tablet performance.
Why is the tablet underperforming in remote play?

I tried this yesterday and the recurring lag issue completely disappeared! Absolutely perfect now, thanks.
DS4 Interference
I had a lot of problems with remote play, but now i sloved all!!
The problem was interference with DS4 and 2.4 ghz WiFi!
Switched to 5 Ghz wi-fi and all work great! Also with the last upgrade with increased fps on remote play!!
Remote Play is a hit or miss I was having problems streaming before I tweaked my router 5ghz ports and band now I can stream 2 rooms away from the router perfectly
but there is a lot of variables like router brands , 2.4ghz vs 5ghz ac no ac how far from the router and how many walls in between how much interference in case of living on apartment neighbors wifi interference so yeah
I have been taking experiments recently and found out that reverting back to Kit Kat on tablet (23.0.1.A.0.167) is a better remote play experience than on Lollipop but still not that good as on Xperia Z3 Phone (LP 5.0.2), very close though.
Worth mentioning that Sony applied a bandwidth cap at 10 Mbit/s both remote play and share play. Which is interesting because my network setup link speed is 433-866 Mbit/s and real life scenario like file transfering is ~140 Mbit/s. So local network LAN remote play shouldn't be capped at 10 Mbit/s.
I still don't understand why the Xperia Z3 Phone can do better than Xperia Z3 Tablet in same environment, same settings, same hardware, etc.
Yesterday I turned off 2.4 GHz radio in router and felt that controls were more responsive maybe latency got better. In fps multiplayer games I definitely felt aiming and controlling were better. I cannot prove it with measurements it is only my sense but if you have a dual band router you can try to disable 2.4 GHz band and see if remote play is faster.
Does anyone know of any decent game controllers for the 6T? I like the ones that fit around the phone and I've seen a couple of mentions of the Flydigi Wee over at Reddit, but I can't seem to find any in the UK. What do you guys use?
I don't have any that fit around the phone, but I have a few 8BitDo controllers. High quality, great battery life, and good feel.
I have one of them that I use on my shield. Was hoping for something a bit more portable tho, so you don't have to then hold the phone.
I've been using the steelseries status xl. Also bought the clip direct from them. Works great and holds the phone pretty securely.
I have a steelseries stratus xl but it lags on input when I comes to games. Now I just use my Xbox one controller that has Bluetooth and it's amazing.
I've decided to go for the Wee2T after watching a lot of reviews on it. It's coming from China so no idea when I'll receive it, but I'll post some pics when I have it.
OK...so I recieved the controller over the weekend and after some tinkering have got it working. The only issue I have is that with the latest version of the app I can't seem to remap the keys. There should be a pull out menu that overlays games, but this is missing. If I use an older version of the app then it seems to work fine. I'll take some pics tonight and post; the actual controller works really well.
I use the 8bitso zero keychain Bluetooth controller. It's on my keychain with my home and car keys and works perfectly for short bursts of snes or Genesis or tg16

Just buy a Bluetooth enabled Xbox one controller. Works just like console. I play fortnite on it with no input lag whatsoever.
Gamesir is the best you will find. All you have to do is decide if you like the Playstation or Xbox controller
The Gamevice for the Pixel phones works great with the 6T. Can't use it with a case though.
I play with Dualshock 4, it has the best analog accuracy compared to other bluetooth controller like gamesir and ipega (and also feels better when I hold it). It can run over Bluetooth and OTG cable. But you need some tinkering to fix the input lag on Bluetooth. But I always play on OTG cable since I want the connection to be more stable. I also use DOBE Dualshock 4 Mount to attach my phone to the Dualshock 4 so I can play anywhere anytime.
But can it play COD mobile ?

How did you go about fixing the lag?
I'm using DS4 controller with cheap phone holder that clips on dualshock. It works really good and this holder cost under 2 dollars.
xbox1 (the one with bluetooth) and a clip for 3$. Its rock solid
