if you're on C233B003 Chinese firmware, there's no way to root it yet
my solution, download this Russia B005 firmware, then u can use towelroot to root it

Download the firmware above, extract it then copy the dload folder to the root of your sdcard, yes it require a sdcard, perform a reboot, it will automatic install the new firmware, you lost all of your data, app data, so backup first
if it doesnt flash on a reboot, shutdown the tablet, hold both volume "+" and "-" and "power" button at the same time, when screen on, release the "power" but keep press volume " + " and " - ", it will now flash the firmware on the sdcard

My T1 came with C177B003, for VietNam, i could not find that, maybe look at your local huawei site
I can't find that version also. That version belongs to T-Mobile Croatia i think.
To be honest i can't find anything about T1 firmware at all. Where you browsing for T1 firmware, generally?

i googled it, first i found the Chinese and i cant root it, later i found a huawei russia forum and i the russia firmware

So far as i can remember all Russian based system apk can be uninstall except Huawei Theme Manager...
TW quite smooth compare to Apex Pro but it will suddenly crash and lost its default launcher option if I put widget from other sources...
Some updates here:
I dont know what is the user base of this tablet. I got one yesterday.
Mine is on b002 firmware and it is not rootable. I tried all known exploits but nothing.
Also bad news is that bootloader is locked. I havent been able to get code to unlock it. I email them to give key but nothing till now.
Can some one check is bootloader locked on other firmwares. like on that russian?

I bought mine in HK and have not received any notice on ICS upgrade, I understand Japan has the upgrade in April.

Is there anyone that can confirm a successful update to ICS and show us some screenshots?
Is there a way for us to get our ICS before they'll push it to our region? Can there be problems installing this zip on an other region? If that is possible.
I Tried to change my region to Mexico with all in one tool and i got a update notification for an older firmware version... but i don't want to risk to loose root forever... decrypting, costomize and resigning with All in One tool didn't work and i'm not able to flash the update with root...
As far as I know no one revived this update really. The only sign for ICS is the broken link in the upper right of the Sony select web app in some countries like Mexico.

No, I don't think so. When you look at selectApp-Website in Mexico there is the notification for ICS-Update. So it must come very very soon.

First you have to modify your region to Mexico and than download ota.
I know But after I downloaded the rom through the script, how to decrypt the ROM? Does the Script also download the OTA when there is no Notification for an update? A lot of questions
No it doesn't. The download happens on the device. I you have installed rescue backdoor you have to modify your build prop again as condi says.

I've got an issue with my Huawei MediaPad X1 for wich I cannot find anything on the internet, therefore I was hoping someone here could help me.
I bought a 503L (China) version a few month ago. I wanted to install the latest release (B008) but I had a warning message. Therefore I wanted to downgrade before trying again.
Then I found on the internet a B102 update and try this one directly. I didn't pay attention it was for european version. The thing is the update works ! Now my phone says it is a 501L version, and the phone is working normally.
However, I don't like the new DPI, and as DPI changer doesn't work, I wanted to get back to chinese firmware. BUT it doesn't work !! I got the message "Detected the upgrade package can not be adapted to your tablet".
I don't know what do. I tried those versions :
7D-503L_V100R001C233B006_ Chinese channels _Android_4.2_EMUI_2.0_05012FMG
7D-503L_EMUI_2.3_V100R002C233B010
I cannot find a link for B002 for 503L.
For your information, I tried to downgrade in 501L, and it worked. This is really weird as I haven't found anyone being able to change from China to EU version.
What could I do?

That's impossible.
I bought it in May, on Chinapadmall, the EU version was not released yet.
You need to download the full version {not upgrade!}
Download, unzip, and copy the dload folder with its two files to the root directory of a 2-8Gb sd card formatted to FAT32.
turn X1 off, insert sd card, turn X1 on and follow the instructions.
You might as well do that with B008 as it is the best without 400dpi.

What do you mean by full version? A version of about 1Go? If so, it's what I did.
Otherwise, what version do you suggest?
I only have a 32GB SD card, but I don't think it would change anything compared to a 8GB...

Guys, even i have the same issue. I have the chinese version (3G version) and i was updating all chinese roms fine. Then i used a Euro kitkat rom, it installed fine again but the dpi is annoying. Now i cannot install any rom. I tried every possible rom (the u series, not L series) but no luck, i get the same message.

Nope you have to flash C636 version only, if you got a UPDATE.APP file then you can flash it by doing the below steps.
Download the latest UPDATE.APP for your phone.
Put the UPDATE.APP in dload folder in the root of your external sdcard.
Switch off your phone and then press all the three hardware buttons i.e Vol UP + Vol DOWN + Power
Now the update process will start.

So I tried to flash to other rom (before) and it doesn't work. Not sure why. But later, Huawei gave an OTA update and we manage to copy it somewhere else.

Glad to hear you manage to get the B330 on your device.
Just a FYI.
Once your phone is running on B330, Huawei will force to push B340 update via OTA. Some people would not like it due to stability. (which is me)
So I rooted my phone and now using the best rom (Pure EMUI Rom V2.1) from @DigiGoon

Still, battery and features wise, B190 is still the best one. I predict that only next B180 will stabilize MM6.0 with performance, battery drain and missing EMUI features.

Did you try finding your firmware using firmware finder.?
I've given the full build number as it appears on the device (no CUSTxxx) suffix. Should I look somewhere else?

When I go to Settings, update, local install, it is recognized and offers to install it. But then it boots to TWRP and fails to install. I guess I need to use the stock recovery? Any help appreciated...

Yes, now I'm starting to understand all these version numbers. My end goal is to install LineageOS, but I need MM first.
So now, I've switched back to Huawei eRecovery instead of TWRP, and tried two different firmwares (before B360 because apparently it prevents installing LineageOS), that were "validated with my IMEI". Settings>Update>Local>Reboot, installation starts I'm about to cry tears of joy and then around 15%, installation fails with no further details. I can then shutdown and reboot to my good ol' lollipop. Not sure what to do next...

May be the package wasn't right...
You can go to old lollipop firmware??
You will have to download complete firmware file not the ota file..
Extract stock recovery from that firmware..put update.app in dload foler and flash via force upgrade....
You have region variant you have??

I brought it from (Amazon France)[https://www.amazon.fr/Honor-5X-Smar...d=1508409802&sr=8-2&keywords=huawei+honor+5x] and I am in France. The product title says it is unlocked but I had to do it myself.
I'll try your link as soon as I receive my SD card, because apparently it is required for this method. I still have this file from an older download, but was scared because a PDF file included in it mentioned it should be used with B140 and did not mention B160, but now that I've flashed a stock recovery meant for B140, this doesn't scare me anymore.

I have L21 global and seems my bootloader is unlocked but i am giving my phone to my brother and camt root as there is no code with me, i got this device unlocked only

Cant root bro..dont know the unlock code..in case it messed up, I can't recover.

You can also download the firmware via Firmware Finder.
Mine is EU version L21D 8.2.0.130(C432CUSTC432D1) -> 4GB Ram - 128GB Rom
