I followed this guide, using the Shortcut lite app. Followed instructions and worked flawlessly.

I did this on my LG G3 Sprint phone:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-...tes-update-t2909412/post56100153#post56100153
It had a hidden menu that you can only access through ADB. The above link tells you what commands to type (on your computer) to get to the menu so you can just press the button "DISABLE" on your phone.

EVOLUTION FREAK, what guide did you follow using SHORTCUT MASTER APP? I would really have liked to have done this without using ADB.

OK EVOLUTION_FREAK, I figured it out. Using Shortcutmaster Lite, i opened the menu, went to App Explorer, found "com.lge.hiddenmenu", then found "wifi_ota_buttons" and clicked on that, menu popped upped, so I pressed "LAUNCH", then the OTA menu popped up and I pressed "DISABLE." This way was much easier than using the ADB technique.

Yup tried a reboot and still giving that error message, I actually got MMS working on other roms, was hoping to getting it working on MIUI (link below)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1571021
It could be the APN settings, Ima try pushing that using APN Backup & Restore

Thanks for all the help ! I tried the link in the description that you PM me , doesn't go thru
I am using the AT&T version of the phone in India. My phone is sim unlocked and other than it is stock. What is the easiest and simplest way for me to enable hotspot. I'll prefer not to root.
I tried searing the forums but only found Mods for rooted phones.
I used to use pdanet befire i went custom rom. You need to download the PDAnet.apk, you can find it here, http://pdanet.co/ , and install to phone. If it gives you a data limit that is not enough for you, you can buy full version of foxfi from playstore. I would check in to see if anything changed though

I need some help. As in the title, I went dabbling in the root of my Galaxy S4's files and deleted it's stock texting application. I tried to reinstall it and it wouldn't. :crying: I'm a newb when it comes to rooting and modding and what not so any help is loved. I'm using a current 4.4.2 Galaxy S4 on Verizon. No custom ROMs or anything of that nature. It's pretty much stock. I don't want to reflash the stock firmware because I have some sentimental pictures of my girlfriend and me on there and I have apps for Chromecast and stuff like that. I can answer whatever you guys want. Please get back to me to get my stock messenger back on my phone. Hangouts and Textra won't cut it for me. I would love to use my Gear 2 with my phone to text, I can't now. So please help me, guys, the genuineness of XDA!! I beg you!
Go here
Get the odex download.
Open zip, go to system>priv-app. Get Secmms.APk & secmms.odex.
Go into root explorer on phone, to system>priv-app, copy.
Set permissions to both as
Rw-rxx-rxx. Reboot, should be good to go.

I really appreciate this. I can't wait to try it, except that's my only problem. My internet is so slow. I've downloading it for the past 4 hours almost and it still has 17 to go. Do you think you could post just the files I need?? I feel that will be the only way I'd be able to get this fix. Thanks in advance.:highfive:

Here's a pic. I'm tempted!
Im also rooted and I just got this OTA. Not sure what it is. probably just some security garbage.
It is ZV6, I thought I had everything disabled. What ever you do, do not install it!!!
---------- Post added at 12:43 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:40 AM ----------
I just got it and panicked a little. Found where it downloaded a deleted it. Completely removed software update. I thought when I used shortcut master lite, found WLAN and disabled OTA. I thought that was enough. Sucka still got through and tried to ruin my year.

Annoying
If you update your profile I think the settings revert like the hotspot mod
Thinking I may either update to barin zv6 or vanir for a moment. Got my nandroid of super silky zv4 that I was loving. Just do not want the S4 experience. BEING PARANOID!!!!
Yeah I might as well try I wanted to stay stock until lollipop which will be soon enough

A simple search on Google of exactly what your problem was returns this as the first result. You are not screwed and it is a simple flashable zip file that will save you. For future reference, don't ever take an official update from LG if you value root access or TWRP on your device. Anti-rollback may be right around the corner.
Thanks!!
I did the stupid update and lost root with stump! Is breaking my phone and getting it replaced my best and easiest option?

do it yourself, its really simple
Hi!
No need to sending your watch to someone, you can sideload an OTA zip file thru command line in a computer,
Lets see, what is your watch build number (go to settings > about)
yes there a app in this forum to update and recover under windows soo yes no problems here, then youll can use it on iphone.
