Skinomi body wraps for Z3? - Xperia Z3 Accessories

Anybody use these? They look pretty cool! I'm planning to just put it on the back only (to protect the bottom glass when laying it on a surface). Might order a set of carbon fiber black, or that dark wood!

I considered one of these but i just cant imagine how painful and frustrating it would be applying it. Screen protectors already can be so frustrating haha. If you do please share pics of the after product!

I ordered the silver/white carbon fiber, it's the only easy way to make my black Xperia Z3 white.... T-mobile USA carry just the black version geez.
Looks like super high quality material.
Sent using my Xperia Z3 while underwater

Is this stuff sticking well to the curved areas?

No it didn't stick well to the curved areas. I applied one and withing 2 days it was coming off.

I ordered the Dark Wood one. I'll let you know how it is when I get it.
Enfurno, did you try to re-attach after briefly using a hair dryer? I've seen that suggestion across the Skinomi site, and I'm curious if that helps at all.

Just updating the purchase. I bought the black carbon fiber one. It was very easy to apply and sticks really well (I only applied the rear, not the sides). The cut is very accurate to the phone, with a 1mm gap too thin on one side. So far so good.
The pic does not do justice.

I hear there is a thanks giving sale/discount.

I got the Dark Wood one recently and applied it. The small pieces were a bit of a pain, but using a hair dryer helps to install them. The backside went on very easily. It looks great, I'll try to upload some pics soon.
Also, I'd like to confirm that the 'self healing' does in fact work. I got a rather large nasty scratch on the backside which initially wouldn't "heal", but when I applied heat (I put my hot coffee mug on it, but again, the hair dryer is your friend here) the scratch got less deep and smaller. It's almost gone now, but I think it needs a little more help.

Im looking into getting the Z3 and I have a Z2 today. I want like a rubbery backside because my hands are very dry and its alittle bit slippery. Which one would be best to get to have that rubber feeling?
Does Skinomi deliver to sweden?

Easecase Customisation Help

I am thinking of getting myself a custom C7 easecase: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/C7-EASECASE-C...34.c0.m14.l1262&_trkparms=|301:0|293:3|294:30
There is so much choice though on the types of leather and lining and I do not know what to go for.
Its between a black leather outer, or a zebra type outer and a red or white inner plus I would like to have a different colour of stitching to add a bit more interest to it.
Does anyone else with an easecase feel theirs looks particularly special? I would love to hear from you. I really want to have something that my HD can feel beautiful in.
Edit: One thing I need to be able to do is listen to music with the HD in the case and also be able to fit it in my pocket easily.
i just ordered one earlier today along with the Brando screen protector
(my birthday tomorrow )
Went for the A5 with a one magnet clip over the top.
Figured a single pouch would be the thinnest option. The more layers of leather there are, the thicker it'll be...
although i liked the blue i thought it'd get scuffed and lose colour too quickly.

so i went for the
EM Cowhide Black 06 outer
blue microfiber inner
and blue stitching...
you'll hardly see the blue, so it'll be a nice flash of colour when i take it out of the pouch.
can't wait to see the results
Thanks for the post. I have decided against a pouch type because one of the reasons for ditching the standard pouch is I have to pull my phone out all the time.
I think I am going to order:
EM cowhide black 04 (it's all black in real life)
Microfiber suede red
Red stitching and they will also customize it so that there is a USB cut-out in the bottom like they have on their case for the Diamond II. Oh and of course it will be initialled. I haven't ordered this though, I am tempted by white stitching but I think in my sweaty pockets it would lose its colour too fast.
i was very tempted by that one.
and black&red is a good combination too...
i like the idea of being able to use the HD in it's case, but i keep mine in my pocket and thought that model would be a little too fat to fit comfortably without looking like i'm carrying a small book.
Plus i thought the flap might tickle the side of my face when it's hanging open and i'm on the phone
i like the pouch idea, but the one that came with the HD is too flimsy and comes off when i pull the phone out of my pocket, and folds over itself.
the case/pouch should be with me in 3-5 days... will post pics and review when it arrives
(typically the day after ordering it, eBay sends me some money off vouchers to use on my next transaction!! )

Sena UltraSlim for our Notes

Hey everybody, just thought I would give you a heads up on a great product, I plan on getting one for my Note this summer when I get my beast.
http://www.senacases.com/samsung-cases/galaxy-note/ultraslim/
It's the Sena Ultraslim pouch. I had one for my iPhone 3G and for my Captivate, and they are great cases. They are made of high quality leather that is hand stitched and buttery soft. I highly recommend them, as they are great for those of you that like to use your device naked, yet want some ultra thin protection for when it's not in use. Inside the pouch is a soft, velvety material that will somewhat clean the screen of your device as well. The pouch starts out kind of tight to the device, but loosens up a bit with use and conforms to the curves of the device perfectly. It barely adds any thickness or weight to the device as well. I had one white and one black for my iPhone, and a black one for my Captivate. The white can get dirty, as it is leather, but good care will keep it clean. Also, when you take the device out, if you hold it behind the device it can provide a little grip on the device with the leather being warm from your pocket, as the leather grips the plastic of the phone. I plan on getting a white one to match my white Note.
Here is a picture of the white one, they also have black, brown, and red.

Feel free to ask me any questions! And hit thanks if I found a new case for you!
Edit: One note, it does not work very well with Zagg InvisibleShield screen protectors due to the tight fit and the rubbery nature of those protectors. However, most high gloss or matte protectors have no troubles at all.
Wow
I really wish there was a design like this but as a case instead. It would be nearly the same thing. Maybe a flap on the top to tuck in and close it, with cutouts for the screen, buttons, and USB.
The only options we have right now for leather cases are either bulky, or flip. no thanks.
I'm tempted to order this and see if I can make the appropriate cutouts myself.
I just submitted a comment to them suggesting this.

Problem: Keeping a grip on the phone. Solution: Paint the case.

I wasn't sure where to put this, but since it involves a case, I figured the Accessories forum was a safe bet. Like most folks who pre-ordered from Sprint, I received a free case as a little thank you for being patient....even though I wasn't. After a few weeks, my only complaint is that the case is very slick and I've had a couple of close calls when trying to get it out of my pocket and answer a call while in a hurry. I remember seeing someone mention a product called PlastiDip, which is a spray-on coating designed to add texture and some degree of weather protection. I found a can at the local hardware store, slapped some masking tape on the edges of the free case and this is the result.
Here it is with just the tape.

This is after 4 medium coats of PlastiDip with 30 minutes between coats.
And here it is after scoring along the tape with a razor blade and then removing the tape.
I'm not sure how long it will hold up, but it really added a nice grippable feel to the case. Don't look too close or you'll see that I didn't apply the tape parallel to the edge of the case. I also didn't do a really good job of scoring along the edge of the tape. However, the case was free and the spray was only around $6 so I don't have a whole lot invested. If anyone else has similar problems holding on to their phone, this might be an option to consider.
For reference, this is the stuff.
Nice work, thanks for sharing it!
Just a fyi the oils from fingers will start to peal the edges off. Good idea though
Dude plasti dip is the ****! I've done various car trim items in that stuff, it's incredible. Excellent idea, I'll try this if I get a case.
wow great idea, i got a few cans sitting at home
How about using grip tape? I always have leftovers from my skateboard decks.
About Plasti-Dip, spray from a further distance for more "grit". The closer you spray the smoother it'll look.
What about maybe painting with RTV? It seems like that might be cheaper as well as more durable.
My issue would be peeling over time, though it's so simple you might as well just keep reapplying it, nothing will beat it in terms of grip.
Pine tar....

Out of curiosity... How long did this hold up? I sprayed my nexus s 4g awhile back and it lasted a little more than a month. I am wondering if others had better success. I probably didn't do the best job.

Leather Slickwrap, need thin hard layer underneath

Hey, I bought a Slickwrap a very long time ago during a promo but never applied it. I'm getting bored of the Midnight Blue back. How slippery it is also plays a role.
Anyway, I've heard that removing the original back and directly applying the leather skin is suboptimal. Consider the picture below/attached. I heard that the holes in the chassis result in noticeable depressions on the surface of the skin. Slickwraps used to sell a very thin back that provided rigidity underneath that soft leather. Does anyone know of a good alternative? I considered getting another skin, but I'm not confident that would provide enough rigidity.
The reason I wouldn't apply it directly to the stock back is because then the device would be too thick to fit in my Diztronic or Ringke Slim.

I've used all of the Natural line of wraps at slickwraps at one point or another on my N6. I was lucky to have purchased the plastic "replacement" back they sold optionally then.
I've seen others suggest that applying a thicker vinyl skin helps but if I were you I'd look into buying a 8x11 sheet of thin plastic from one of several places online. There is a thread on XDA with links but a quick Google search would net several sources I'm betting. Your correct in not applying it directly to the device's mid frame, it will show every indentation and lump and look horrible.

Hi m8, I am currently running a dbrand skin and in the past I also tried slickwrap one and they fit very nicely inside a case. I have distronic, CaseMate and Spigen and I wont interfere.
The tough indents to hide are the two large ones on the left and right about an inch from the bottom. I cut out (pretty precisely), and placed two pieces of paper the exact shape of the cutaways and it worked for me.
Maybe you could buy the adhesive alone, and try to get some back protector films, just like the ones for screen. and then apply slickwrap on it.
Another thing to watch out for on the real leather slickwraps is the color coming off! I bought a black one and , while it did look nice for awhile, the black color came off on my microsuction wireless charger, and every time I wiped it clean with nothing but a water-dampened cloth. Pity, it looked so nice at the start.
My copy is on its way as well. My thought was to maybe use an old glass screen protector. Would this work or is the curve of the back too much?

Poetic Quarterback GS7 Review!

Now this is an interesting case idea that I've never owned before! So I got the Poetic Quarterback case; Poetic makes some good stuff, as I've had their Affinity series, which is a nice case, but i personally hate clear back cases (they get smudgy, oily etc.) My favorite type of case is leather, but I do like a good TPU every now and then (matte style.) I bought the Quarterback case because it seems unique..it's a really thin flexible TPU, but on the back, a hard plastic snaps on. It comes with black, but their plan is to sell different color back plates, which seems like a real cool idea. You buy the case in black, and then if you want to switch out, just get another color! Awesome idea, but no word yet as to when they're going to sell the colors and for how much. Until then, I really dig this case in black!
The backplate:

Ok, so the only con i have towards this case is the back is slippery..like really slippery. not in the hand, but on a table. so on my desk i can easily push this and it'll glide along. now, for me, that's not an issue because i don't care about things like that, but for some people, that's an issue. either way, only a con in the sense that others may not like it. besides, if you lay your phone face down on a table, the TPU lip that is in the front prevents it from moving.
All ports easily accessible:
Buttons are nice and clicky, and the side is TPU, not the hard plastic, so there's a good grip. There's a little ridge that helps with the grip.
Overall, this is a really nice case. The lip that comes over the edge of the front doesn't come over really far into the bezel which is awesome because I have the Spigen curved crystal screen protector, and being that it's curved, even though it's thin it goes right to the edge. Other cases will lift it up (even Spigens own cases!!) so i'm happy with how this is.
Either way, try this case out. Only $10 on Amazon with prime, and hopefully when the color plates come out they'll be priced reasonably enough to be able to swap whatever colors you want.
