I am also experiencing this problem. This is the first actual mention of this issue anywhere on the net. Any updates?

It's a known "feature" of Lollipop. Everyone is hoping they fix it and go back to allowing people to answer calls via the watch. It should at least be an option. My only guess is that people were swiping the wrong way and answering calls they actually meant to reject.

AOSP Messaging App?

Is there any way to get the AOSP text messaging app to replace the Sense one? I read that a direct replacement of the APK doesnt send MMS correctly. Anyone got one working? Im sick of the Sense messaging redraws and slowness.
There is one on the market but mms doesn't work on it either. I want it too. Hopefully someone can figure it out!

You guys should try Slide Messaging from the Play Store. It's pretty awesome. Funny thing is I had that exact idea not too long ago. Anyway, if you download it, it doesn't have MMS support yet and it's a tad bit slow even on our phones. >_<

why wouldn't you just post a link? This type of reply completely defeats the purpose of these forums.

sorry if I sounded like a jerk, its just that these forums are meant to help people answer questions, I just don't get why people will sometimes try to "hide" the answer.

I find the app works, but unless I freeze the stock messaging app in TiB I receive duplicates for each message. So if you freeze it everything works right, but now I have the problem that lightflow keeps repeating and I cant clear the notification sounds unless its from the stock app. I could just disable lightflow, but I work in a loud environment and I kind of need it to keep repeating or else i usually wont hear or even feel it 1st time. That's all i use lightflow for, is the repeating sound and vibration, the LED's are disabled. If anyone knows another app out there that can do the same thing that would be nice.

Or not, since MMS is really shoddy and is completely disabled without paying, not to mention it being really slow if you have many messages.

[Q] After 4.1.2 update, phone is announcing out loud who is calling and who is textin

I used voodoo to backup my root, updated to 4.1.2 and then re-rooted... working fine. Then, just yesterday, all of a sudden, my phone has started announcing who is calling and texting me. "Text from XXXXXX" "Call From XXXXX".
I checked to make sure I dont have driving mode on, which I do not. I have no idea how to turn this off. I have not downloaded any new apps.
Anyone have a clue? Thanks in advance.

I'd first check out the accessibility section of the phone settings to see if the Talk Back service is enable. It's possible if you accepted the OTA that your carrier may have enabled this feature by default.
Secondly, I'd check to see if you have your account set to auto update your downloaded apps? It's possible if you have your account set to update apps automatically that an app that you have on your phone was updated and now provides the ability to speak aloud who is calling and texting by default.
My talk back service is off, however my atuo update is on. Is there anyway to see which apps were just recently updated?
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
It depends on if you have Titanium Backup or not. If you don't have Titanium Backup, then you can look at the main page of each suspect app individually from within the play store and it should tell you the last time it was updated at the end of the description section of the app.
Do you know if I download it know, will it still tell me? Or would I would have had to had it installed at the time of the app update?

He mentioned that he already checked that in his original post.
I found the culprit. It was an app called Mr Number. Its for call blocking calls and texts. Thanks for all the responses

I'm on the 1.5 and its working. but SMS does not work if you are using the stock touchwiz sms. this is because it wakes the screen when you get a message so that ruins it. but hangouts, emails, instagram, etc work fine for me

mine never had the problem but I'm not sure why yours did though. the Dev may respond on the thread from my op. he seems pretty set on keeping it updated and fixing bugs.

I think the talkback is just an accessibility bug for samsung devices. Only happens when an app is using accessibility.
dev claims to have fixed the Samsung SMS bug. haven't tried it yet.
added several new options. most notably (for me) was the option to use this as the lock screen. went ahead and went premium!

Try flashing a stable CM10.1 build.. You dont need to wipe data or factory reset and your problem will also be fixed without having any issues and loss of apps or data.. And keep in mind that if you will flash CM10.2 or 11 than you will need to wipe data. Since its not a stock Firmware, these always include some bugs or issues. But as always stable builds have all the bugs fixed that are found in nightly builds.. This all what you can do to solve your issue.

No. Call ur service provider and ask if u have caller id. Caller id is when someone call u, u can see who it is. Without caller id, there will be no number or name and will show as unknown. Which is ur current situation.

Caller ID is enabled by default for every mobile connection, this is not a reason, i think the problem was started when OP flashed rom, may be a dirty flash, or a possible problem may be in modem.
