Well, I put my Alpha through the washing machine ( I know, I know.... :crying and, after a week of careful drying out, everything seems to be back to normal except no phone service. Investigation shows that the IMEI number is set to null. Googled for answers but none of the codes shown, to enter the command mode, work. I have hard reset and also used KIES to download and update the firmware from the Samsung site. Still nothing.
The codes I found to enter command mode were *#197328640# and *#*#197328640#*#* but neither worked. Also looked at Chimera tool but it doesn't have the IMEI fix for this model yet.
Any help gratefully appreciated,
Will have to use cdma workshop or something similar to write the imie back to the phone. Hopefully you still have the box or recipt with it on there.

Hello.
I've tried to restore my original IMEI, since mine is set to 004999010640000, which is a fake. I've used repair application on Android Market and tried to fix it manually, but with no effect. It is still the same IMEI, regardless, what I do. I may be doing something wrong, but I am not sure. I run on ICS 4.0.1 and it is an original ROM. Rooted. Could you possibly help me with this case? I have an Internet connection and I can make calls, but IMEI is still fake. I also have power menu and lock screen working, so it is just matter of corrupted IMEI number, in my humble opinion.
I hope you help me.
Hi folks,
I have a pickle of a situation here that I am finding it hard to grasp why this Network Lock continues to plague me.
Seems I cannot manage unlock a Galaxy S2 handset even with the correct IMEI.
Or to understand what exactly is going on here which brief story as follows.
The IMEI number is written on the back of the phone under the battery.
The code *#06# displays IMEI also displays the correct IMEI.
I then go to the Vodafone Site to unlock: https://unlock.vodafone.com.au/voila/handsetunlock/self-service.html?method=selectService
I enter in the correct IMEI number, after I enter the Captcha code and click next, it replies with the Unlock Code for me.
But every time I enter in the Unlock Code that I was given, it returns: Network Unlock request unsuccessful.
I then flash the phone with Odin to a official XSA version, still the same.
I then return to the Voda Rom and its still the same.
Yet, if I use a Voda sim on either Rom it works perfect.
For the life of me, how does one get past this Network sim lock?
Anybody got any ideas to why or how to solve this matter?
Ok folks, seems to be moving in the right direction for sorting this out.
Turns out, a friend of mine put his sim in, and entered in passwords causing the lock out.
Got in touch with Voda on the phone, they said the main account holder of the phone needed to request the reset.
As it turns out, the girl whom I also asked for assistance (who I got the handset from) also got Vod to resend a new reset code.
Will take 4 working days there about, so at least the problem will or should be solved.
Failing that, just going to fully flash it to some updated fancy rom
Cheers~!
Hi,
I'm pretty new to this forum, i hope some experts in here and explain to me this problem that i have with my S6 Edge. I bought the phone online for my brother, it worked fine for the first three month then somehow, it got blocked . when i check the phone, the IMEI from the setting menu is totally different number from the back of the phone. I tried to reset the phone, reflash with original firmware but still doesn't work. Can someone explain how this can happened? i checked the IMEI from setting menu, it said the phone is black listed, but the IMEI from the back of the phone is still fine. it's a bit weird.... Thank you
Probably original imei has been blacklisted, old owner has changed it and now this on got blacklisted again
I have had an unlocked VS985 for three years now overseas and its been flawless so far. It all started when suddenly one day the SIM failed to be recognized. I put the SIM in an another phone and it works fine. No other SIM card gets recognized on the device. These are a summary of things I've tried so far:
1) I initially thought flashing another ROM would fix it, and I tried like 3-4 ROMS available in XDA (thanks to all the devs!!). Nothing helped. The SIM continued to be unrecognized in all the ROMS. I then flashed back the stock ROM by the TOT method.
2) I then suspected it could be something with the phone radio and started investigating in that direction. I tried enabling all the bands through the shortcut app and that too did not fix it.
3) I found the hidden menus to attempt turning on/off the radio but found that I was unable to enter what's called as "Phone info" hidden menu (picture attached) that contains this radio on/off option. Although it didn't let me enter I noticed that the phone IMEI in that menu was missing the last digit. The IMEI in the Setttings -> about phone (or below the battery) shows an IMEI with the same digits but with one extra number at the end. I suspected that somehow this IMEI mismatch of the last digit IMEI was the reason the phone is blocked for all cellular connections.
4) I then tried fixing the IMEI with the Qualcomm QPST method but unfortunately unable to enable the DIAG USB ports. I tried that with adb commands with terminal emulator and all the commands are accepted without an error. But when I connect the phone with debugging the appropriate COM ports don't show up on the QPST configuration. I also tried that with the phone hidden menu (##7764726985) but the "Port check" option that must show up is just not there.
I am stuck now. I am not sure what exactly has happened and if my diagnosis on the IMEI is valid. A phone service center tells that the SIM slot is good and this is a software problem. Can someone please help me fix this? It could be a simple fix to access the DIAG USB port or a bigger fix to the whole problem. I just don't understand how the IMEI could have randomly changed when it was fine for all the 3 years thus far. It has been a harrowing 2 weeks trying to find a solution and I'm tired. Please HALPPPP!
EDIT: I was able to get into the debugging mode and was able re-write the correct IMEI. I restarted the phone and still its the same as in the first picture, missing the last digit. May be as a consequence, the phone is unable to recognize SIM or letting me access this menu
I received the SIM card unrecognizable alert, with my original G3. I took it into a VZW store and they told me it was a hardware failure. They replaced the phone on an insurance claim. Never had the issue again. I don't have any experience IMEI issue.

[HELP] Kies 3 Problem "please check the model name and s/n, and enter them again"
My phone was broken after my nephew borrowed it from me around 2 days ago. I have a Samsung J5 phone, and ever since then, whenever i tried to power on the phone, it stuck at the Samsung logo and won't ever turn on, it just stays there forever. Because of that, i tried to use kies 3 to get the data from my phone, or if possible, fix it as well. When i tried the option "Firmware Upgrade and Installation", it asks for the Product Name and the S/N.
After i put my Product Name, which is SM-J500G, and put my S/N correctly, for some reason it says
"Please check the model name and s/n, and enter them again"
I tried different methods and whatnot, but none of it actually worked. If i change my S/N with my IMEI, it doesn't work either.
Can anyone here help explain how kies 3 work so i'll be able to get back to my data, or if possible, even fix my phone? Quiet desperate here. Any way at all?
Edit : I can't access the USB debugging option since i can't even open my phone. But i can access my Download Mode. I don't know what to do.
