Hi I recently bought a iView SupraPad i700 (you can find it on newegg) it's a nice tablet, but there are limiters that have been put in place in various areas that make it difficult for some of my apps to work right(like setting storage to the sdcard instead of internal) . another issue is the volume which I can't change without rooting. I've tried a list of root tools none have worked does anyone here have any idea on to start rooting this device? (I'm new to this so please don't kill me)
info:
android version: 4.4.2
build number: z2520_i700_20140716
Okay I've tried towel root, Impactor and vroot. I'm out of normaly means anyone have another program or process I could try?

No answer from me... hoping I would find something here on XDA forums. The i700 is on sale for $45 with Newegg... not sure if I want to pull the trigger for something that I can't root (need Airplay functionality).

Thought of some options for you:
1. ROOT GENIUS: http://www.shuame.com/en/root/
Root Genius may give you problems while downloading via Chrome.... download and install via Internet Explorer.
2. KINGO ANDROID ROOT: http://www.kingoapp.com/
3. OEM Path that supposedly works for the iView 754TPR tablet:
Download the firmware ZIP file from here (Z2520_i700_20140716_CTS_MR.zip which is about 664MB) http://www.iviewus.com/download/firmware/
or here:
http://www.iviewus.com/download/firmware/i700/
Follow these instructions:
How to root the Iview 754tpc tablet (from HERE):
1. go to system settings, and then go to "Backup and Restore",
Then press "reboot into Recovery mode". - Note: This will only work in recovery mode.
2. select the factory reset option.
3. reboot device.
4. go to "on your PC" IVIEWUS -.
5. Download winzip from iview's page. - If your don't already have it.
6. Install winzip.
7. click on the link below the winzip link. - Note: Download will take an hour, depending on how fast you wifi is.
8. Then fallow step-by-step instructions that comes with 754tpc.rar download.
Now I have downloaded the i700 zip file and it has plenty of files in them which I'm not sure exactly how it will allow you to gain ROOT access with the above OEM method:
07/16/2014 04:21 AM 9,503,744 boot.img
07/16/2014 04:21 AM 12,137,472 droidboot.img
07/16/2014 04:20 AM 12,137,472 droidboot.img.POS.bin
07/16/2014 04:22 AM 6,805 flash.xml
05/25/2014 07:27 PM 2,031,600 IFWI_CLVP_CEAX_GB7_G01_EXT_F9_F8_WW20.bin
07/16/2014 04:21 AM 1,844,736 logo.bin
07/16/2014 03:50 AM 1,163 partition.tbl
07/16/2014 04:21 AM 11,539,456 recovery.img
05/25/2014 07:27 PM 99,296 SIGNED_CLVP_CEAX_GB7_FwDnx.bin
05/25/2014 07:27 PM 99,296 SIGNED_CLVP_CEAX_GB7_OsDnx.bin
05/25/2014 07:27 PM 880 SIGNED_CLVP_CEAX_GB7_SOFT_Fuse.bin
07/16/2014 04:21 AM 1,220,056,584 system.img
07/16/2014 04:04 AM 41,788,104 userdata.img
Now, these files all appear to be what you normally get in a Googles OEM versions of Android... *.IMG files that can be flashed with FASTBOOT, assuming you have access with your tablet to recovery. But does it give you ROOT access? I'm not sure, as I'm a noob at all this with plenty of trial and error until I give up (with the precious time that I already have).
I reviewed the similar TAR file that came with the example (Download 754TPC.rar here), and it included an IMG file along with LiveSuitPack_version_1.09_20120301 software. No clue what it does, but I noticed a DLL file called "roottools.dll". Perhaps that's the help that's needed to crack open this tablet if the initial 2 methods above don't work.
Give it a try and let me know how it turns out.
Thanks.
Really nice tablet, well built, 2GB Ram, 16GB internal sdcard, dual core Intel, hard to beat for $45, I got mine yesterday from newegg rooted it, and haven't set it down, I really like this tablet.

How did you root it?
EDIT: I read your link. Which recovery did you use from myKIT_BATCHV1.1.x? I do not see IView model there.

Need help with rooting iview i700 in windows 7 enviroment
Hi I'm new to rooting and I read other threads about the iview i700 and I installed the drivers and used cwm program (myKIT_BATCHV1.1.2) and every thing connects and turns green but when I try the A2 option it says no program found so I'm kinda stuck on what to do now. I downloaded super user and am not sure how to install it. I also downloaded the SDC_INTEL2_ROOTKIT.7z and tried the rootkit option but that failed. Can anyone give me step by step please. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your time.

Thanks I'll give this a try. Much apreciated. Just wanted to root so I can move my apps to SD card
Hi guys, I just bought the iview i700.
I want to root it but, I'm not to sure about the step-by-step for this tablet. I've downloaded and installed the correct drivers (my windows or my linux computer can access the tablet).
I copied the "UPDATE-SuperSU-vX.Xx.zip" and the "Venue_8_WiFi_KK4.4.2v1.33_FLASHPKG" on my microSD and put it in my tablet.
Now, how to run run the IntelAndroid-FBRL-01-17-2015 ?
If i run it with my tablet turned-on (normal mode) It doesn't find my tablet.
as read on the i700 firmware update manuel :
While the IntelAndroid-FBRL-01-17-2015 is running
Should I Turn off my tablet. Press the “Reset” button on the back of the tablet. Press and hold the Vol + and connect the USB cable to the tablet while holding the Vol + key. Keep holding the Vol+ button and press the Power button three times and release both.
After, how do I select the correct file ?
Any help would be appreciated.

I used this method to root, under Linux.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/dell-venue/general/linux-tethered-cwm-recovery-version-t2963104
There is a Windows method for this as well.
Thanks !
I managed to root it. I was confused with this rooting. I though that we needed to install permanently a new recovery and flash a custom rom !?!? I was confusing everything that I did with my cell phone (new recovery, new rom...).
The linux method worked great.
I figured out that to put this tablet on recovery mode (visible for adb) you just have to long press (10 seconds) the power button (while the tablet is turned on). When it's off a quick press on the power button will give you a huge battery sign, filling all the tablet screen. After that adb will see the device.

hey I've tried the factory reset to reset password on a tablet and yet it wont work....any advice?

Possible rooting program...?
This seemed kind of interesting:
Can't post the link because I'm too new, but it's http - www dot srsroot dot com
They actually list the E270BSA in their "Tested models" page - but then they also say they have an average 48% success in rooting phones :/ From another forum I saw that their program tries 5 different root exploits.
The program is free - can anyone with a Sero 7 Lite give it a go and see what it says/does?
Never mind -see next post. [IN FIVE MINUTES ]
SRSRoot doesn't work - it tries exploits 4 and 5, which are additionally pretty time-consuming (lots of waiting for reboots).
What does work however (as Klown80 showed me) is the Impactor, which exploits the Android "Master Key" vulnerability via one of two bugs. Make sure you're good to go with ADB, then use the SRT AppScanner to check if your version of Android has either one of the bugs still un-patched. (The 7 Lite has 1, the 2nd one, while the 7 Pro has both!)
If you have a vulnerability still available, get hold of the Impactor from http cydiaimpactor dot com on your PC and extract it (no need to install). Hook your device up via cable and try the default exploit, "# drop SuperSU su to /system/xbin/su" - if it works you've got a working su binary in place and just need to grab a copy of e.g. SuperSU to give the appropriate apps access to it directly.
Hope this is helpful!
Cydia Impactor on Mac
For what it's worth, I just rooted my Sero 7 Lite WITHOUT installing ADB, using my fiancee's Macbook Pro (OS X 10.8.4). Absolutely ridiculously simple...
1. Download Cydia Impactor (http://www.cydiaimpactor.com/) and install to Applications folder
2. Plug tablet into MBP (used a random cable from one of my Samsung Android phones)
3. Run Cydia Impactor with the default drop SuperSU thing....
4. Wait for it to finish what it's doing, then install SuperSU from Play Store.
Verify with an app that won't function without root, such as Titanium Backup.
My build number is P758.6.06.03.02, and it worked without a hitch.

Hey, you can try it. If it works, awesome. If not, you're probably going to have to start mucking around with USB drivers and other unpleasantness.
i tried the cydia impactor but on the 969..... exploit it gives me error saying not enough space and w/o being rooted how do i free up space w/o resetting tablet because i have saved games on it ect..

Of course it works, Microwiz and I figured this out a month ago! Lol, nice to see you copied my post here. You even downloaded the Vroot app from my other post and couldnt hit a friends thanks buttons? lol, FYI that version is out of date now, it is up to version 1.7

But as for messing with drivers instead of going through that whole mess above just go to www.snappea.com and install it on your pc and it will install a suitable ADB driver for you.

Using hisense sero 7 lite
Hello all at XDA!
I'm new here and to the Android OS. Got a " Pyle Astro PTBL92BC " for yule. (I bet you all have heard this before)
I managed to root it using " ROOTx " but now I want to Dive in to Custom ROMs and tweaks. I have been looking on the net, and found not much info about Pyle's Tablets at all.. looks like a Generic android tablet nothing special about it.
Have been reading and looks like I should install something like ClockworkMod Recovery but looking at CWM's site their is a lot of versions... I don't know how to find the right one for me.. So if and when I mess this up, I can fix it and not hurt my father in-laws feelings for bricking his present to me.
So what info do I need to find the right one? all I can tell you about is..
Model:
PTBL92BC
Android Ver:
4.0.4
Baseband:
1.5
Kernel:
3.0.8+ [email protected] #1
Build #: 913A.V2.10.TZX.R01.BT.eng.0826.1009
Thanks a lot!
Unfortunately, there is no custom recoveries for your device. With that being said, there really isn't much we can say about ROMs either.

Yes, I am a newb, but I thought ROOtx couldn't actually ROOT a device. Is this wrong? Could you explain further?
I have had success on rooting the device using the Kingo rooting tool for PC. I have rooted the device and now I am working on a CWM recovery for it which I have booted successfully into but haven't been able to mount sd card or anything correctly yet.

I was wondering how you got Kingo to recognize the tablet. Im having trouble getting windows to recognize the tablet once i put it in USB debugging mode. Do you have some Pyle USB drivers? Or is there a step im missing here.
Kingo "recognized" it once, but it was as a samsung galaxy so i assumed it would be bad to proceed with a Root when the program was assuming it was a different device. Any advice for me?
Thanks!
Help with Pyle Astro PTBL92BC
Hi, Next time I tried to turn on Pyle Astro PTBL92BC tablet, after trasfering files from other tablet by bloototh, it has got stuck on starting screen with the “Android” logo and it stays on it and does nothing more so I have to turn it off. It is not recognized when connected to pc either. What should I do to fix it? Is there a way to re install a fresh copy of Android?

I was in the same situation after trying to flash some random CWM not compatible with this chinese tablet.
To reflash the original firmware on it you need the flashing tool: PhoenixUSBPro
AND
you need the firmware (.IMG) file . this one was provided to me by the manufacturer: PTBL9C
Image file only HERE
Only inconvenience is that it is not the one for the Bluetooth capable Tablet ( their mistake).
Once I have the one for the PTBL92BC ( bluetooth capable) I will update .
Instructions on how to use that tool is summed up in the picture within the file attached PTBL9C.
BUT
If you need clearer steps you can follow instructions HERE

Just follow these instruction from another thread in XDADev. : HERE
It works for that tablet. Now Once you have root you can install Super SU pro and set it as a native app.
Hi, I just bought this phone from TECA Mobility, it turns out to be an Alps S5. See attachement for a detailed description.
I tried to ge the root. I tried some different tools, without success.
MTK Droid Tools ROOT button doesn't work but gives a link to xda's MKT forum, so I started with the recommended procedure. I tried to read back the ROM with SP-FlashTools but no way, it doesn't start. I also made some attempts with the Android SDK but adb backup of course doesn't work for the System partition without root.
When I send the adb reboot recovery command the phone goes in download mode, with the adb reboot bootloader command it goes in fastboot mode, while to have it in the factory recovery mode I have to manually hold down the start and vol down buttons. However, it doesn't matter, the readback does not start.
Should I try to install the CWD recovery without having a backup of the ROM? I think it's too risky. I looked at NEEDROM to see if I can find my ROM, but didn't find. I found these, "S5 SM-G900 MT6592", but I cannot be sure it's the right one.
Somebody can help me? I want to root the device.

Hi
1) First root your device using MTK Chopper (from PC) or framaroot (from android app) . Both work fine for MTK phones
2) Then using MTK droid tools backup your ROM. Here is the guide for that
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2730031
3)Then using MTK droid tools , make CWM recovery for your phone and install it . Here is guide for that

I think you mean MOTO Chopper? It doesn't work, same as framaroot. They are old tools, they don't work anymore on the ROMs released after June 2014.
ODIN could work but I have not the sure/right file to download.
Generally speaking, the first thing to do is that of getting a backup of the ROM from the un-rooted phone
The guides that have been reported to work in these cases are:
From XDA:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38337401&postcount=5
From China Devices:
http://www.china-devices.com/Thread-ROOT-CWM-Readback-your-ROM-with-SP-Flash-Tools#
Hereunder is the link to a success case story:
http://www.china-devices.com/Thread-Rooting-new-octacore-S5
There is no way I know to get the root with one-click-tools, there is no case I could find of anybody being able to root these phones by following other procedures.
If anybody knows better, please send me a link (MTK phones with ROM s released after june 2014 only!!!)
My only problem now is that I cannot get the read back with Flash Tools. I have tried uncountable button-pressing combinations, I have put the phone in recovery, download, fastboot mode, I have tried with and without battery, phone switched off or on - no error, but the read-back doesn't start (however my phone doesn't have the USB connection working when it's off or without battery).
The only way to skip this step is, if I had already a copy of the firmware available, a sure one.
Kindly help me if you can
Hi
Odin doesn't work for MTK mate
Try this latest app . It worked for some latest MTK KK phones
http://www.kingoapp.com/index.htm
Some other KK phones got rooted using vroot and rootgenius
Try your luck
Final option is to read back from SPFT which has 90+ success rate

As bizarre as this sounds, I managed to get root on a similar phone (another MTK6592 S5 knockoff) with MTK tools. After exhausting my options, I clicked the ADB button and tried to get root shell regardless (via 'adb root shell', which probably isn't the proper command but it works regardless), which caused some sort of hang. After a minute or so I unplugged my phone, which caused things to start responding again; plugging it back in showed me as having temporary root, and the get root button actually worked the next time I tried it. I have no idea how or why it worked, or if it was a once in a lifetime occurrence, but it can't hurt to try.
Also, if your phone is anything like mine (and is actually running some form of KitKat), good luck getting write support for external SD cards. I couldn't get the system partition to mount (to write changes to the necessary file) via anything but ADB shell.
Problem solved
Good to know, thank ypu.
However in the meantime I solved my problem.
My phone works this way: I have to remove the battery and connect it to the USB cable. Then it goes in "preloader mode" and tries to install a driver called "MT65XX preloader driver". This driver actually emulates a COM port. If data transfer doesn't start, then, after a few seconds, the device goes down and disappear from Windows list. So it is easy to miss it when we install all drivers. I had to dowload it (from Google cloud service in my case), install and ... the Read Back started !!! Now I have completed the procedure and my phone is rooted with the CWD recovery installed.

Maybe your phone was using firmware dated before june 2014? These was a bug that was exploited by Framaroot, but now they fixed it.
Is your phone also from ALPS? They sold it to me as capable of installing an external 64GB SDHC card, but I cannot have it working. Did you face any similar issue?
Otherwise 32GB cards work fine. Have you tried Aparted app? I use it for formatting/maintenace. This app makes partitioning, I guess it should work.
Also, if your phone is from ALPS, does it really have the ROM memory that is advertised?
I am facing some interesting issues with my phone on this respect. It was sold as having 16GB internal ROM, of which about 12GB avalible for users. In fact, the settings menu shows 10GB ,( 8GB available) of internal memory, and about 4GB of phone memory. Well, if I am correct, this so called internal memory maps to the directory /data (the one highest level in the root), who corresponds to partirtion mmcblk0p7. This partition actually has a size of 2.3GB instead of 10 !!!. f I install and try to run online Nandroid backup, I cannot have it working on paths directed towards the SDcards, but it works on the path data/media. Well, a backup of about 1.2GB is shown in the setting menu of the phone as a memory consumption of about 5 GB !!!
Then I had also hard time in copying this file from the /data directory to one of the SD cards. Root Browser and Root Explorer didn't work, only ES Manager with root rights worked.
Maybe you can give me some advice in finding some tool or SDK procedure to assess what the real total size of the memory is? Or some suggestion on how to fix the ext 64GB card? I got bad feelings with the guys who sold this phone to me, so I would like to collect some more evidence if possible.
I downloaded some applications for making device inspection. They read the manufacturers' data, so they get cheated - even if, in some cases, they can show the right amount of unused memory still available (quite lower than declared by the phone) . Also I cannot see the real size of the RAM memory used by the CPU .
Need stock ROM for Teca g89 mobile.
Hi experts,
I need stock ROM of TECA G89W ANDROID 4.4 2.4GHz 4GB-RAM +32GB 18MP 5.5-inch GPS SMARTPHONE. I brought this phone 6 months back and unfortunately the software corrupted. Hi, I want to root a cubot x9. Could you recommend me the apps that I can use, for root by telephone, and from pc? I'd rather to root my phone by phone without using the pc. Thanks.
Did you have any luck figuring out how to root this phone?
You can see it in this forum:
http://www.movilesdualsim.com/tema/root-y-twrp-recovery-mds-cubot-x9-twrp-recovery-2-7-1-0.91238/
Actually, after a bit of googling I found this tutorial on getting TWRP onto any Mediatek phone, which includes links to various tools for rooting (and is also in English )
Are there any different roms out there for the Cubot X9 besides the stock?

Note that this appears to be just a stock ROM mildly modified to work better in Spain. And on top of that, it appears to be based on an old version of the official ROM (v7 - it's up to v9 now according to the "official" thread on NeedRoms, but I have no idea what the source is for the official ones on NeedRoms, I can't find anything on the Cubot page)
And just a follow-up - I'm guessing the "official" roms on NeedRom are via the OTA updates.

If anybody in future is looking to root the X9, feel free to inbox me. I'm going to write up a tutorial on it, but until that's ready, I can give pointers on how to go about it. For a start, none of the one-click root options work, the only way I was able to root it was to do the no-root CWM install, and then root from CWM.

What's the worst that can happen ?
I've tried iRoot. This will automatically install the 'Secure Search' program (and more!) in your browser which is very difficult to remove. Therefore iRoot is definitely a no go for me!
I recommend "kingroot" not kingo root. I used kingo but was having trouble with lucky patcher working properly. When I used kingRoot it worked like a charm.

Sent from my rooted cubot X9 using XDA Free mobile app
Root cubot x9-TWRP recovery
Here is a quite simple guide to root your cubot x9 and install TWRP recovery. I have tested myself and it works fine!
DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT WILL HAPPEN ON YOUR PHONE! DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK
What you will need: A cubot x9 (Yeap I know...dont be shocked)
A PC running Windows (This method has been tested on win7 and win10)
A USB cable
Ten minutes from your life and some magic files that I will post at the end of the post.
*IMPORTANT* : Because I am a new member on the XDA community I cannot post any external websites so I cant post any files *sorry * . To find the files that I am referring too just google needrom . com and login in in this website search for cubot x9 and you will find all these files over there *OR* you can just send me a PM and I will reply with the links of the files.
(1):First of all before we start rooting we need to make sure that we have the correct drivers on our Window PC. Simple open the Control Panel go to Device Manager. Then turn off your phone and plug it in your computer. If you see for a moment a device with the name "PreLoader USB VCOM Port" the you have the correct drivers (clap*clap). If anything else appears you need to download the correct drivers. Just download the "All MTK USB Driver 2014.rar" file and unzip it. The re-plug your phone(turned off!) to your PC and when the device shows it self quickly right-click on it and choose update drivers. Then choose update through your computer and choose the folder you just unziped and press OK. Wait a while and *boom* you have your drivers. Before you continue check again if the drivers are correct ( if the "PreLoader USB VCOM Port" shows on Device manager). If not repeat this step.
Now lets root our phone like there is no tomorrow !
(2): Download and unzip the "SP Flash Tool 5.1343.01.rar" and "RECOVERY CUBOT X9 (MDS TWRP Recovery 2.7.1.0.). Rar". Then download the "UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.40.zip" file. Turn on your phone and copy paste the "UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.40.zip" file on your phone sorage(as a zip!). After that unplug your phone and turn it off. Go to the SP FLASH TOOL folder you unziped and run the flash_tool application. You press OK on the first window that pops up and then you choose on your right Scatter-loading. Browse your PC and choose the "MT6592_Android_scatter CUBOT X9.txt" which is inside the recovery folder that you unziped on the beginning of this step. Press ok. Then on your left you go to options->option->download and make sure to tick the box which says DA DL All with Checksum. Close that window and find and choose "Download only" and then click download(see the image on the end). After that the application is ready and it looks for our phone.
And now here is the tricky part. Right now our program is ready and searching for our phone. If we have the correct drivers and connect our turned off cubot the program will install the TWRP recovery in a few seconds. If everything went good a green circle will popup. After we see the green circle we have to go fast and press simultaneous the volume+ and power button on our phone till we see the CUBOT sigh. If we were a little too late the recovery will be lost and the phone will boot normally on stock. If this happens repeat the step (2) again.
(3): (Do you feel it? Root is near!) If everything went as planned right now you are on the TWRP recovery. Simply press install and find the UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.40.zip you saved on your phone storage before. You choose it and the you "swipe to install". After the installation finishes reboot your phone. After some magic your phone is now rooted!!!
After the reboot if you ever want to run on the recovery simple turn off your phone plug it on the power and press volume+ and power simultaneous.
Please hit thanks button
for root i have used Kingo ROOT

Just picked up at Best Buy for $39 a Digiland DL718M tablet. It has lillipop 5.1 on it. I read the threads on the 10 inch digiland tablet and tried everything there that seemed relevant. This included iroot, v root, and kingo. None worked and Kingo bricked the thing on a second attempt. Luckily I was with in the 15 days at best buy so I just returned it saying it failed in a software update (which it did....) With the "new" new tablet I did not do the OTA update and tried kingo and iroot out of the box. Both failed. Anyone been able to root this puppy yet? I sure am getting no where fast. (did activate USB debug for all attempts). Tried PC and onboard software. Nothing is working.....

Thanks.

Hi fourtwentybuddy,
Did it work for you ??? The site seems to be suspicious so I can't open it. I'm looking for root for this device too.
It did not work...the site downloaded the app just fine however the biggest issue has been getting the device recognized by adb. I've tried 2 different adb drivers and neither of those made the device not have the exclamation point in Device Manager.
*update*
the latest Kingo Root application for windows had the proper adb drivers for this device. However none of the common rooting apps i tried were successful KingRoot Kingo Root SRSRoot. Ill try iRoot RootGenius & MobileGo this week but im doubtful.

Ahhhhh! Sad to hear that. I guess I will wait until some root comes up, then I will get one of these tablets.
I spent the $50 and for that alone it is not that bad of a tablet...as far as feeding my itch to tinker with things - I should have applied that $50 towards a nexus 7

I've already had an Acer B1-810, which i just sent back to repair the bootloop (sshhhh don't tell anyone), yet I still want to buy this one to tinker and test how long it's gonna last. I just think it's better to wait for a root so i can disable background app and boost it a little bit. Small question: Does it have many bloatwares ?
None at all actually
Any news on people being able to root this? I have had no luck so far.
what I've learned so far
from power off, holding down volume down and power button boot into a menu in Chinese.
the top item is a system test
the second item displays test results
the long item is some sort of debug menu
the item below that clears/wipes personal data to factory reset(useful if you forget your lock code)
the bottom item reboots to normal operation
the volume down button navigates the menu, the power button selects choices, and the volume up button acts as a go back button in sub menus.
---------- Post added at 05:55 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:46 PM ----------
the OEM Android version is nearly stock I did the update and am at 5.1
the developer options is missing the unlock rom option, which is the easiest way to get to root.
these universal adb drivers seem to work
github.com/koush/UniversalAdbDriver
as does this fastboot:
code.google.com/p/android-roms/downloads/detail?name=fastboot-win32.zip&can=2&q=
the fastboot menu is in English, which is nice, but the partitions are write locked, and I haven't figured out how to fix that yet.
and I recommend the ap ' volume in notification ' to solve lolipops refusal to actually change the volume!
So, no one has figured out how to do this root yet? I'm dying to know and I would like it rooted. I've tried every method, even the PC ones. iRoot does not work like I hoped it would :/
getting closer
so it dawned on me i can use adb to reboot into recovery mode, which i did and is in english!
i then tried to sideload, and it told me i had to use adb version 1.0.32 or newer, quick download, and unrar later into the same directory i overwrote my old adb files.
from there i used adb reboot recovery to open the stock android recovery, it provided a dead android robot with his chest open, tapping the power button and volume up at the same time took me into the recovery menu.
i was unable to apply a zip file update superuser.zip either from the adb sideload, or from the sdcard.
it said installation aborted.
got the same response with an .img file with clockwork mod recovery
also same message when trying to use sideload to load superuser apk file
the fastboot that comes with the xda copy of adb 1.0.32 didnt seem to work at all, so went back to previous version of fastboot, mentioned in an earlier post.

tablet on sale again
this tablet is on sale again at best buy online. $36.99 for 2 colors, a really great buy.
I too own this, have tried towel root and kingroot but (of course) no root. This seems to be a "popular" device and for the price is an excellent choice to tinker with. My main reason for needing this root is so i can use my sd card to provide some extra ram. Eventually I plan to use this tablet as an UI for my home automation setup but i need root first.
If someone can figure out how to root a $800 samsung device, surely this $50 china tablet shouldn't be an issue.
Maybe we should all donate $5.00 to a root developer, so they can buy this device and root it for us and him/her self.
We get root, they get a free device. Its a win win.
